The Puffer Vest is really cute. I 'm 55 ” and average size, it fits right at the knees. I usually wear a W L- XL in coats depending on the fit. After reading the reviews I ordered an M bc the advice was to size down. However, with only two light weight shirts on, the vest fit more snug. So I should have ordered my usual size or larger to have more run to wear sweats comfortably.

I bought this vest a few weeks ago and I ’ ve worn it multiple times a week( depending on how many dark washes I can run!) since it ’s been delivered! I can not rave enough about the length! I ’ m 5 ’ 3 and it hits about my mid calves which I love as it keeps me mostly dry and covers my butt! The arm holes are big which is a plus for those who like baggy sweatshirts underneath!!!!! The days of bunched up sleeves are gone with the big arm holes!! The vest is incredibly warm( sweaty warm!) and the waist cinching option is a added bonus! For those who say it runs big- it is a “ loose long fitted puffer vest ”- clearly written in the title and description!!!!!!!!! I would say this is a must buy! I love mine so much I splurged on a second! [ This vest has me so excited for the the cold weather! At 5 ’ 2 ”, this synthetic fill puffy vest falls right above the knee for me in the front and is a little longer in the back. I love this feature for times when I will be sitting outside. I am a special education teacher and part of my job is walking and spending time outside in the community with my students daily, even in the cold Pennsylvania winters. It is a comfort to know that I now have this outerwear that is not only waterproof, will keep me warm due to Nike ’s Therma- FIT technology. The fit is roomy enough that I can comfortably wear layers underneath while not needing a scarf as the collar zips up to my chin. Along with being warm, I love that there is a slight pattern on most of the vest, but it is subtle enough to keep it from being overwhelming. It is stylish, yet comfortable and practical for movement, which is always what I am looking for in clothing for both work and in my personal life. I would suggest sizing down, as it does seem to run big. There is a waist cinching cord, but even with it drawn tight, I still could have gone down a size for a better fit. This is an essential cold weather staple and will be a great investment piece for many future winters.

[ This vest is of exceptional quality. I appreciate that the waist can be customized with a band in the waist and that it is lengthy. This style has a modern, oversized cut. The fabric is soft and durable. I ca n't wait until it gets cold outside so I can wear this vest. Without a doubt, I 'll wear it over a fleece sweatshirt. And I 'll alternate between wearing a scarf and simply zipping my vest all the way up to my neck.

I was skeptical of the modern, thin, down jackets and vests. I ’ ve loved my old style, bulky down vests, and had full faith in the warmth of down. The Outdoor Research Helium Down Vest has become a daily part of my kit working at a ski area. The cut is definitely very athletic or snug, which does make it amazing for layering over. I ’ m normally somewhere between a large and extra large, the XL fits much closer to a large than a XL. While not the most flattering for fashion wear, but it ’s perfect for how warming layers are meant to be worn. Generally I ’ ll wear this vest over my base layer and under my other mid layer. Thought the day I might remove my other mid layer and use just this vest and my shell. As with all of my Outdoor Research gear I ’ m very impressed and happy with my purchase.
