I bought these because I liked the zip- off Ferrosi's so much and these pants are great! Despite being in the same family, the fabric feels a little different between these and the zip- offs but still incredibly stretchy and breathable. Like the zip- off, these have the built- in draw string and leg cuffs which is handy for ditching the belt and being able to pull up the cuffs if you like. These have become more of my casual around town pant now because they 're just so comfortable.

I like the pockets and drawstring at the waist and ankles. Beginners and experts could both benefit from these pants. The only drawback is that it is thin fabric which can snare on twigs and tear. The transit pants are a step- up in fashion compared to the standard Ferrosi pants. Granted I 'm not a fashion master as my wife reminds me but these are versatile enough to wear climbing or to work. They do n't have the zipper thigh pocket but as I mentioned this gives them a slightly more formal look and fit. Obviously it goes without saying that they are comfortable, stretchy and lightweight like the entire Ferrosi line. Sometimes the Ferrosi line is known to pill but I have n't noticed any yet after a couple of months wear.

I 've had several pairs of rain pants from other manufacturers over the years and these are the best so far. They do n't restrict my leg movements, do n't leak, and are easy to get on and off. The rise is high, so you have good overlap with your top and the waist drawstring seems sturdy enough, although I pair them with suspenders also. One of the best mountaineering pants you can get- durable, breathable, and yet still warm at any altitude. These are my go- to pants for many PNW mountain treks( Mt Adams, Middle Sister, Mt. Hood, etc). The fit is fairly true- to- size, but I would have expected a bit more stretch in the waist. I 'm usually a 32 in most clothing, and M's feel a bit tight. There's plenty of stretch in the legs which makes for easily climbing, but the waist can definitely be a bit annoying. It's not enough to take away from how great these are, but something to consider if you 're on the border of sizes.
