I commute a short distance to/from work( ~6 miles round trip). I hated wearing my backpack on hot summer days. I bought this basket and it easily attached to a pretty low- end back rack and works like a champ! my backpack fits right in and I secure with a 12in bungee cord that easily hooks on to the side lattice work on the basket. It's light, so does n't add much weight. 10 out of 10, would buy again, but hopefully it holds up for 10+ years:)

I had been using an old crate so this is definitely an upgrade in the looks department. It's well built and easily attached to my Surly 24- pack front rack. The mounting is n't difficult, but seems more complicated than it needs to be. My only beef is that the dimensions are a little misleading as it's slightly tapered so something that might fit in the top wo n't go all the way to the bottom. A minor quibble- but worth noting. Overall, I 'm happy and will likely get a second one for my other bike.

Our family of 3 riders has a lot of STUFF! This bag gives everyone a neat way of organizing and keeping our gear separated from one another. The compartments and the small zipper pocket are our favorites. Everyone even has their own color! We use them as our daily gear transport but can easily see this working for an extended bike trip. The long carry strap is super comfortable and well placed. Also love the 3 top handles. If you do n't have the top zip closed you can still grab by the two side handles and move it around without dumping it.

I was able to get all of my gear in here, tools, clothes, pads, helmet, shoes, snacks, etc. For way too long I had my crap spread out in the back of my car in a few different bags. Now I have everything I need in one easy to carry bag. This is VERY WELL constructed and has a nice handle on top and comfy shoulder strap. Highly recommended and no one paid me or gave me free merchandise in exchange for my review.

So far, having been through Tajikistan and Uzbekistan with me, through some torrential rain, they have been pretty great. The outer pocket is a nice place to store a rain coat. My only complaint is that the old ortliebs used to have straps on top that could be used to strap down a mat or something and these don ’ t, but i certainly wish they did!

[ I 'm in the process of fitting out my hybrid bike for bike packing trips. I bought this bag as I liked the size and it has a semi rigid shell. Very happy with the product. It fits perfectly on a flat bar, has a center divider and plenty of room for a cell phone, power bars, keys, and various other items you want to keep easily accessible. Also like the exterior loops you can attach/clip small items to. Not sure about the water resistance, but I usually put cell phone and other water sensitive items in zip lock bags, so I do n't see that as an issue.
