Perhaps the best backpack Nike has never made. Within a span of 4 years I ’ ve collected two with a third on the way. Well engineered and stitched together. I ’ ve use it as a personal carry bag, hauled it through congested city streets on two continents and multiple cities and even used a gym bag with all sorts of gear and at most two pairs of shoes comfortably. The side pockets can hold two 32 ounce vacuumed sealed water bottles without any issues. The top small pocket intended for sunglasses has enough ample space for additional items like headphones and a case for glasses. Fully loaded I ’ ve ever had one of these backpacks is at most 45 pounds. Shoulder straps are wide and really comfortable. The adjustability of the shoulder straps is effortless. The addition of the sternum strap gave more stability for heavier loads. The MOLLE style attachment points makes this bag even more versatile to add more items to the face and sides of this bag and has came in clutch many times over. It ’s over built enough for many years of extensive use. They ’ re a bunch of key features I ’ m forgetting but overall you can not go wrong with this bag. Definitely worth it ’s weight in gold!

FIT and FEEL: Backpack is bigger than it looks, and still fits comfortably when wearing for extended periods of time. The straps have solid padding and the Haul Loop is extra luxurious. No trouble adjusting the straps to my desired length. DESIGN: Sleek, understated elegance. The only branding on it is a basic Nike Swoosh on the front outer pocket, and even then it's the same color as the rest of the backpack to continue with the more sophisticated look. FABRIC: The nylon material used on the exterior of the backpack feels like its built to last and the interior polyester is also well constructed. There are so many things I love about this backpack. The Trolley/Luggage sleeve on the backside is such a nice feature to be included as this backpack definitely has the size to be used for extended trips. I also like how the interior laptop sleeve has a button clasp at the top to prevent a laptop from potentially sliding out or moving around if the backpack was upended for any reason. The drawstring allows for a wider opening into the main compartment but there's also a side zipper for quick access( refer to my photo). There's also an interior bottle sleeve that could potentially be used to hold sunblock or anything else you may want to keep hidden away.

I have had this bag since 2017 and I beat the crap out of it and it has held up beyond my expectations.. The only thing I wish is that I could wash it better, because I am so hard on my stuff. I would put one more strip of padding on the bottom of the area for the laptop and two way zippers for the front little pocket, One other suggestion is for the side pockets where you can put your drinks it would be cool if one of those was a little longer, and you could zip it up.... I 've been using this Surge backpack since 2019 and it has been great! I 've heard my family's thoughts on the newer model of the same backpack and they are not as impressed. The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. One of the shoulder straps did begin to tear last year( 2024) slightly but a quick stitch- job has got it back to working order. I would definitely buy a North Face backpack again!

We absolutely love this bag as our personal item( as long as it's not overstuffed, it fits easily under the seat) to bring our toddler's plane snacks, toys, tablet, and other travel essentials along with a smattering of items we want to keep on us instead of checking through. My 9 year old son loves it. I got him the black bag with red letters and he was super excited that they match his Jordan 4 Breds. It also has a decent barrier between the compartments. He put a full bottle of water in the smaller compartment and it opened somehow and it got everywhere. But it barely let any water from the smaller to bigger part. He had his brand new school binder in there and it did n't get a drop on it. I emptied the bags placed it in front of a fan, and it was dry within an hour. Only lasts about a year then the cloth part of zipper goes bad. I ’ ve returned daylite many times. While I appreciate the all might guarantee, it ’s still a hassle to continue this process.
