I have been waiting for a hooded version of a packable puffer that was still cute, and after enjoying other Halfdays products for skiing, I was excited when I saw this in their spring collection this year. This jacket arrived several weeks ago and has been great for everything I 've thrown at it! It has kept me warm, dry, and cute on rainy commutes to work, mulching my garden, and taking my dog on a field trip to our local forest preserves. It has been comfortable in temps as low as 35 and as high as 65 or so for me, personally. I love how lightweight it is, and that is compacts down if it warms up during the day and I need to pack it away for my commute home. It is also roomy enough for layering underneath, and I enjoy the big pocket for storage in the back. 10/10 would recommend.

I am obsessed with the Bessie Packable Jacket. It ’s everything I didn ’ t know I needed — lightweight, incredibly warm for how thin it is, and so easy to travel with. I love how it packs into itself and even turns into a pillow( seriously genius for flights or road trips). This jacket definitely rivals my Patagonia nanopuffer in warmth and comfort. The color is a perfect shade of brown IMO. I 'm 5'10 '' and it hits right at my waist. I wound up going with a size small because it's rather boxy( I 'm usually a M/L). Great travel jacket that packs down into nothing. Even wore it out into the rain and I stayed remarkably dry. Granted, I was running from the car to the store, but enough that I would 've felt it had it not been water resistant. I would definitely recommend. It was plenty warm enough for cool evenings and at high elevations. But the best feature of this jacket is the hood. The hood fits so well around your face and neck. This has become my favourite layer under my shell for cold winter hikes when its- 20 and the wind is blowing.

It has even performed perfectly on walks in temperatures well below freezing. I ’ m just over 5 ’ 6 ” and 150 lbs, athletic build and medium works well. It was slightly larger than what I thought it would be, as I am hoping to use it under a waterproof layer soon, but the small would likely have been too small. The red color is eye- catching, and it's incredibly comfortable and flexible, not stiff or heavy even in the coldest temperatures. Living in the Northeast, I 'm often outside in freezing weather, and this jacket keeps me warm without feeling bulky. After a couple of years, it still looks great, and I get tons of compliments on it. I often prefer men's styles due to the straight cut without the flared out hips that most women's shirts/sweaters tend to have. I wear this hoodie as my jacket when temps are on the warmer side and as a mid layer under a jacket when temps are on the colder side. I will say it's very warm though. I can usually get away with wearing it in the low 50s to high 60's as my outer layer. I 'm a 5'5 '', 110 lb female with a straight/slim build and I wear the XS. The sleeves are a tad long for me but I 'm used to it since I wear mostly men's clothing. I usually just cuff them back a little. I 'm also a big fan of the G1000 reinforcements from the elbow to the wrist. It's a nice look and gives the sweater extra durability. The leather logo/ending to the drawstrings is a nice touch too.

I really love this coat and all the small features that make it so nice. I love all the pockets, it actually fits a 1L water bottle. I love the little fleece details in the hood, at your face, and in the hand pockets. It ’s very warm, and I can choose to layer( or not) and still be warm. I kept my normal size small due to my broader shoulders and wanting it to be able to wear a sweater without my shoulders feeling restricted. It definitely is boxy, but I don ’ t pick coats based on that, but all the other features like staying warm. I really like how big the hood is, it actually fits both my head and a ski helmet, which is nice. I also love the length of the coat and how it ’s slightly longer than my waist. I appreciate the double zipper, when I get into the car I ’ ll unzip the bottom a touch so it ’s looser which makes any tightness when sitting down go away.

Well this jacket has been a lifesaver, got me through- 20F weather with no problem, it blocks the wind and moisture. The pockets at mid level, that are fleece lined, are a blessing. I did a lot of research before buying this coat and I do n't regret it. Now it may not be as form fitting as one might want but honestly when you are warm in dead of winter, who cares. I was impressed with this jacket from the moment I received it. Even before wearing it, I could see that the attention to detail and quality is top- notch. The stitching, the inside seams, and the quality of materials all look and feel great right off the bat. I was not disappointed when I took this on my first rainy hike. Water beaded up nicely on the outside of the shell and the pit zips came in very handy as I started heating up. I really like that the material has a somewhat soft feel to it- its not slick like other rain jackets I 've worn in the past. The material is much quieter when moving as well. I also got several complements on the jacket from some fellow hikers( I have the Cenote version- I love the color combo!) My one wish is that that the hood brim had a little more heft to it. A slightly stiffer brim would be nice during heavy rain or windy conditions. Overall I highly recommend this jacket. Arguably my favorite Fjallraven piece out there, this hoodie is perfect for just about any situation. Performs very well as a top or mid layer. You can wear it comfortably on mild/cooler days, or it acts as a perfect mid layer for skiing or any other alpine related activities for that matter. The waxed canvas patches on the shoulders, and overall composition of the hoodie, give it a good amount of water repellency. I sized up one size, since the fabric has a decent amount of stretch to it and sits a little closer to your skin than a traditional hoodie.

One of the best parts of this jacket is how well it holds up in gusty conditions. Even without layering heavily, I could feel noticeably less wind- chill than with my old softshell. Very happy with that. The hand pockets are secure, the sleeve pocket is handy for small stuff, and mesh pocket bags help with breathability. [ This jacket is pretty much everything you want it to be for a running coat or rain coat or everyday wear coat!:) It is so thin, lightweight and the material is very stretchy. I love that it's made of 75% recycled material and is also waterproof. Cool! My favorites about this coat are in the details though!! The sleeves have elastic so you can pull them up your arms and they stay. The zipper pulls all have a little extender on them for convenient use and there is an elastic hook to hang the coat by. Probably my favorite detail is the design of the hood pulls. You can pull your hood tight and lock it into place with a stopper. But even more awesome, the stopper is on a loop with a little blocking washer so your strings wo n't get lost in the holes of the hood during wear or washing. Amazing design!!! The only thing I would mention here is that I am a woman and this is a mens coat so the design is very straight; no room for hips at all- so I would suggest getting a womens style coat if you are at all curvy. For me I just tuck it under. Also for a men's small to fit me perfect makes me think it may run a bit small( as I think most Nike items do). Overall, highly recommend.

So far I have only used this jacket for spring( alpine) skiing, at which it has been amazing! With temperatures in the low to mid 40s at the top this jacket, along with OR Trailbreaker pants and Gripper gloves, was warm enough, with just enough wind protection for riding the lifts and skiing fast, but breathable enough to prevent me from get sweaty and catching a chill. With temps below that I threw on an ultra- light softshell and was plenty warm.( Note that 1. I run warm when working hard and 2. I wear a hydration pack while skiing, without which it is possible my back would 've been chilly sitting on the lift) And it fits( size S, I am 5'6 '' 145lbs) perfectly and looks great even just around town. So far one of my favorite items by OR( and I 've got quite a few of them) Looking forward to using this for snowshoeing, cool weather hiking etc.!

This thing rocks. Originally, I purchased this to do winter trail runs in, but have since used it to paddle, ice climb, mountain bike, backpack, and travel. I have found the Deviator to be one of the best if not the best light, active piece for me when it is chilly outside. The front/hood fabric has a good DWR and sheds light wind/rain well, while keeping just the right amount of heat in. I have found that it needs to be under 25F while running to keep myself from sweating, but with the other activities, I find it to be very comfortable in the 30- 45F range( when I am moving), even if it is windy. The zippers are a little fragile, BUT it is meant to be a lightweight piece. I have found that being patient with and keeping the zippers clean and waxed go a long way. I am a Medium/Large and bought a medium, which worked for me well. Overall, I love this piece. While it is not a replacement for a puffy, It retains way more heat than I expected for such a light jacket, especially when moving.

Man, this hoodie slaps. I primarily use it for days when it's cold but I need to get my miles in whether that be running trails/roads, snow shoeing or whatever else I do in the winter. The back is covered in what seems like waffle insulation which breaths super well so when I get hot, the excess heat has a place to go. It wicks sweat and keeps me feeling dry. The front has wind resistant panels that keeps warmth where it should be, and keeps wind out. It definitely fits snug in the arms so layering with a long sleeve base was a bit challenging considering how snug they are, but they are not too tight. I actually feel like the sleeves had a 1- 2 use break in time because now they seem more roomy and it's no longer a struggle to get a long sleeve skin tight layer on underneath. That's my experience, but not really a bad thing considering that putting on another layer over the deviator is that much easier. Please do not buy this piece expecting to hang out in 15 degree weather and to be toasty. This is an active layer that will absolutely keep you warm while you 're on the move. I use it for its intended use, and it produces a 5 star experience.

The design keeps the wind out but lets your back and arm pit breath while running or wearing a pack. The fit is intentionally slim- fit, as the product can keep you warm that way. I 've had my RG foray for a little over 3 years and it's been pretty good to me. I 've mostly worn the puffer by itself in cool weather. There's little wind resistance to it, so be warned. I live in New England, and I 'm traveling to `` old '' England later this year. Between our record rainfall back home and variable conditions across the pond, I needed a good raincoat. Cue* hours* of research, which landed me here. So far I 've worn this coat out in several storms for 10- 20min at a time( walking the dog) and after a quick shake off in the mudroom, it's completely dry. And so am I! Plus it's quiet, blocks wind, and the material has a nice matte finish. The colors are lovely, classy green shades that go with everything. Got a medium and there's room to layer a fairly bulky coat or sweatshirt underneath but it's not huge if I 'm just in a t- shirt. I 'm 5'6 '', athletic 150lbs, 37- 27- 38. I 'm literally excited to camp and hike in the rain this summer now that I 'll have this coat to protect me. Now I just want OR to make a matching one for the dog.

I wear this jacket 8 month out of the year! I wear it inside as a sweatshirt and outside while biking or ski touring. It's a synthetic fill( prima loft) with a high warmth to weight ratio making it very packable. I also find that it is a bit dressier in appearance than comparable styles from other brands. The chest zipper pocket is quite big. I can fit my Iphone, keys a and a small wallet inside. The hip pockets are also deep enough that I can leave my phone in there while biking and not worry about it falling out. When it gets below 30 degrees, I switch over to my Keb Touring Down Jacket. I tend to run cold in body temperature.

I 've had this jacket for a couple months now; it's come along on a few great treks through the mountains and also been a great lightweight cold weather jacket on my walks to work in Boston. I recently took a trip to the Grand Canyon, in which we did an 11 mile hike with 3, 000 ft of elevation gain. That's when I really got to see the beauty of this jacket. The night before our trek it had snowed 6- 8 inches and the snow was still coming down as we were going out in the morning. It was about 28 degrees with wind chill but I knew as we descended the temps would rise to about 60 degrees. I layered up with my Singi Merino Henley as a base layer, a lightweight vest as my mid layer, the Keb Padded Hoodie as another mid layer, and then a shell as my outer layer for the precipitation that was still coming down. It did n't take long into the trek for me to start shedding layers but the Keb Padded Hoodie stayed on almost the entire time. It's lightweight and extremely breathable so even when the temps got to around 50 degrees I still found myself with this layer on. When I did decide to take it off, I only had a 9 liter pack on my back so it's packability came in extremely handy. I would highly recommend this jacket for every day use and for trekking. It's a necessity for me on any trek that requires a jacket layer.

I 'm so happy with this windbreaker! It's super lightweight but really does cut down on the wind. The fit is very flattering. And more importantly, it has hand pockets! That may not seem like a big deal, but I 've been disappointed with numerous other lightweight windbreakers on the market that do n't have hand pockets. The pockets are zippered too. This will be a versatile jacket to throw in my bag for spring, summer, and fall. I can see myself using it for hiking, biking, and around town.

Was looking for a high- visibility running jacket similar to the Patagonia Houdini Air( wind resistance+ breathability). I have both the regular Houdini( size L) and Houdini Air( M). Keeping this in M. FIT: I 'm 5'1, 150 lbs, 34DD, round belly. With a Smartwool 250 baselayer or a thin long- sleeved cotton t, fit is close to the body, but not tight( Houdinis run much slimmer); pretty forgiving of my belly:) Perfect length for me, falling around mid- hip; Houdinis are longer, falling below my butt. FEEL/FUNCTION: I 've worn this for multiple runs( incl. light rain, strong wind). This feels somewhere in- between the Houdinis in terms of wind- blocking and breathability. V. light rain beaded on the surface of the jacket, but left a mark when smushed into the fabric. Material is a matte, slightly stretchy, more fabric- y( vs. plastic- y) material- like a slightly thicker/heavier Air. Hood fits over thick pony- tail securely when fully zipped, and stays in strong wind. Doubles as a running and casual jacket better than the Houdinis due to a more forgiving fit around the mid- section( for looser- fitting street clothes), shorter length( more flattering for my short stature), and zippered side pockets. Packs down small enough for an upcoming 2. 5 week trip to Europe( 24L bag). COLOR: Azalea appears neon coral in the pictures, which is what originally attracted me. Unfortunately, it actually is not neon at all, and is more like a salmon pink that leans more pink than orange. It is slightly see- through. LOVE the green( Grove) colorway- something about the color+ matte fabric texture+ matching zippers makes it look SO smooth and rich and clean. Did not intend to get this color, but decided to try( and keep!) it based on the( accurate) pictures.

While stylistically I personally prefer more fitted pieces, that doesn ’ t take away from the quality of the Prima Puffer whatsoever; there are tons of people who will prefer the baggier fit. You can see from the profile photo the logistics of the hood; it ’s very large and roomy. It ’ d be a really good hood if I had my hair done in a glamorous updo or needed to preserve the style while still wanting/needing a hood.. this one would be great for that since it ’s so large.

[ Honestly when I tried this jacket on for the first time I was n't sure if I could pull this look off. I am approximately 5'3 '' and 110 pounds and this jacket is very fluffy and has an oversized look. The first time I tried this jacket on I fell immediately in love with the hoodie. This hoodie is big, looks amazing and is so comfortable. The whole jacket is super comfortable and very well made. This is my first Nike jacket and I am impressed with the quality. The details are on point and I really like the overall style. I just love the wide trim of the hoodie that also hides the zipper and provides two additional buttons to close the jacket. One button is on the upper end of the zipper and the other on the lower end. The hoodie also has a small white embroidered Nike logo on one side and a bigger stitched- in logo on the back that adds just the right amount of branding. There are a lot of black on black Nike logos on the inside of the jacket but the logos on the outside are more subtle. You can adjust the fit of the jacket by tightening it on the bottom or you can tighten the hoodie on both ends. There are also two outside pockets with zippers located on the front of each side of the jacket. Each pocket has a very soft inner lining that feels warm and comfortable. On the inside you will find a smaller inside pocket that has one snap button to close it. If I have to complain about one thing it would be that the zipper pulls are very small and might be a little bit harder to handle if you wear gloves. I will just add a little pull string to make it easier for me to use so it is not a big deal for me. What really impressed me is how warm this jacket is! The jacket is made out of Nike Therma- Fit technology and promises to manage your natural heat to keep you warm. I own many jackets but I have never felt my body warm up so quickly as with this jacket. I am amazed how warm this jacket keeps me and can not wait to take it out during the colder season. We are an outdoor family and love to spend time in the snow. With a young kid you will find me outside any and every day and I already know that this jacket will be my new favorite for any kind of winter activity.
