On trips when the bike does not go, I convert it into a regular duffel bag. I just wish that instead of the dividers being collapsible, that they were completely removable. Also like the exterior loops you can attach/clip small items to. Not sure about the water resistance, but I usually put cell phone and other water sensitive items in zip lock bags, so I do n't see that as an issue. But — the straps are great for a person 5 ’ 5 ”, they are too short for someone over 6 ’ — in the summer when we are wearing minimalist jerseys, it ’s fine. But winter when you are wearing something bulky, the straps need a few extra inches for tall folks.
