This yoga mat is so perfect! Very durable and solid materials. It lays flat when you first unroll it, not like flimsy ones that roll up on the corners. It stays in place with each yoga move. The color is beautiful. It is thick and cushioned so your knees and elbows don ’ t feel like they are digging into the floor. I would buy one in every color! The only slight negative is it is a little heavy, not bad but I was just surprised when I picked it up.

I love this Yoga Mat! It's super great for at home workouts. I work out at home 4- 5 times a week. I had another yoga mat that was squishier, but this one is better in more ways. I like that this yoga mat stays in place and does n't slip around while I 'm doing mountain climbers, or other exercises. It's not as squishy when I 'm doing pushups on my knees, but maybe I need to do regular pushups from now on! It's comfortable enough for crunches, but great for yoga as well.

Nothing to complain about on this yoga mat. It's a dense/firm pad with grooves for good traction. This firmness is great for peobising an even surface while its in use on carpet. After a few months of ownership I havent noticed any odor build up, washed a few times with soapy water and its good to go!

I was looking for a sturdy mat with better stickiness than the others I 've owned. This one cost significantly more than those and it's a good investment. I like that it's thicker too.

I have been using a good mat for yoga, though basic, it has helped me 6 months in my practice. This Manduka mat is really worth the price since it has enough cushioning, not so much that makes one lose balance but good for a head stand. Also, it has a great grip for positions when you press hard with hands and feet. It is long enough for me to fit laying down and it is n't that heavy. A very good product overall, I highly recoment it for anyone who practices yoga or even other sports.

Great mat- nice and big- great color. A bit slippery until gets broken in.

Caliblueyogi
It took a while to break this in because of the film on the mat( you can clean it yourself but I didnt). Oddly enough this mat even smells good! Sturdy and with the right amount of stickiness. I got the midnight blue. Easy to wrap up! Length and width are perfect as well

I bought this to use at home and in the studio so I needed one that would last. You can feel the quality of the mat with and without a towel over it. Glad I finally upgraded!

Bootcamp Yogi
I actually picked this up for outdoor boot camp class. Our classes are held at an elementary school playground on the blacktop. It gets really dirty, unfortunately but the cushion is superior to cheaper mats and the grip was great on day one even though the package says you need to break it in a bit. I have a tailbone that sticks out so I need good padding. It's a great mat for yoga as well, of course.

[ So far I 've only used this for one class, but it is not slippery! I go to buti yoga, which is sort of like a combination between cardio and yoga, and I sweat, although I am not a heavy sweater. It involves a lot of downward dogs, and I felt much more stable than I did on my previous mat. My hands felt grounded and did not slide. The mat did seem a bit slick when I first received it, but I read lots of reviews and followed a few suggestions: leaving it out in the sun for a few hours( it was 80 degrees), rubbing a fine grain sandpaper over it( once over, applying a bit of force), and using a heavy duty scotch- brite sponge with some cleaner( I used Mrs. Meyers) before rinsing it off and letting it dry. I maybe spent 10- 15 minutes using the sandpaper and cleaner. And it worked! I am hopeful that this is my soul mat.

[ Love the color I got at such a great price! I did find it's a bit slippery so I used the 24 hour salt method and it is now my favorite yoga mat!

I purchased this yoga mat at my local Dick's Sporting Goods Store. I had been wanting a really good mat after attending Hot Yoga with an' ordinary' Target- brand mat. I was slipping and sliding all over the place with my previous mat. With the Manduka PRO Mat, I was calm- cool- and stable. It was wonderful! It is a little slick at first( the protective coating has to wear off), but that will get better with time. I have become a Manduka fanatic after using this mat. FYI- it is a little heavy. I would recommend purchasing a yoga strap or yoga bag to haul this puppy around in.

I am looking forward to having a long relationship with this mat. I love it and it makes a huge difference on knees and feet with cushioning needed for my aging body. Highly recommend.... and buy it when you are young so you can use it for years and years. Save those knees and feet!

The mat is 5 mm thick and very comfortable when on knees. However its not very sticky but other reviews say that it gets better with time.

Very cushy- This is a perfect mat to do abdominal work outs. It provides enough cushion to avoid painful elbows when doing straight and side planks and also cushions the spine when doing sit ups. Not a replacement for a yoga mat but a very good addition to it.

Great for my 2 year old- My daughter loves this mat. She has just started tumbling and wants to be like her older cousin who is a cheerleader. She loves to show off her forward rolls and different crawls. I like the fact that it folds up and has a handle which makes it easy to put away.

nice mat, but not wide enough for gymnastics- Nice mat, but 2 feet is not wide enough for our 10 year old to do handstands, cartwheels or rolls. We exchanged it for a 3 foot wide mat& that works great. I 'm sure this mat would be great for aerobics.

The pad is thick as described. It provides enough support when you 're on your knees or elbows and it does n't hurt the back during sit- ups. However, the surface does n't provide enough grip for the shoes when trying to balance. Not bad overall.

Good bye old purple yoga mat, hello blue heaven! GoFit's Pilates Mat is exceptional, and the price for such comfort..... absolutely reasonable- underpriced if anything! I have bought a couple of mats searching for enough cushioning to use on hardwood floors& only got bruises. If you have hardwood floors or any hard surface- you must get this mat, if I could give more stars I would=) The curling issue, not a biggie. Keep the box it comes rolled up in, and reverse roll it. After each use, roll up opposite of last roll and place it back in box. I LOVE THIS, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!

If, like me, you have a prominent coccyx( tailbone) and bruise a lot there when doing crunches, pilates, or yoga, this is the most comfortable mat I 've found. It does make for slightly less stability when doing anything that requires standing on a single foot( I just step off the mat for those) but I find the trade off more than worth it. I have had no durability issues, and it is going on 2 years old now. I do alternate the direction in which I roll it to prevent creasing, though that may be unnecessary on my part. Overall a great mat for comfort, and if I wear mine out, I plan to buy the same one again.

Got this to help fight my hardwood floors and not being able to do a few moves without hurting my spine. Thick mat and perfect for anyone practicing pilates. The thin normal yoga mat was just not cutting it and it took me a while to find one like I use in class. This is perfect!
5
I like it, for the price it is what it's advertised as. A yoga/pilates mat which fits me from head to toe( i 'm 5'8). It is thicker than most yoga mats which i appreciate. It does slip as i 'm doing some more strenuous exercises, like side planks for example, but not enough to bother me.

I thought the concept of `` yoga in bed '' was a little silly until I got this mat: my sessions come pretty darn close with it, and I get even more out of my workouts. I use this mat mainly for pilates, but have learned to stabilize on its thicker foundation with all of the yoga poses I do often( including all of the warriors and even balancing poses like half moon). The best thing about this mat though, is how it really opens up my yoga/pilates practice by giving me the extra cushioning I need to do things that were literally too hard on my body with a standard yoga/pilates mat( e. g. truely using my abs, rather than guttering over on my perifery, in `` rolling like a ball ''). So if I can set aside a minor uncertainty about being able clean it effectively-- with all its little wrinkles, and maybe even pores-- it's no doubt my favorite.
When searching for a long yoga mat, consider the length and thickness to ensure it accommodates your practice comfortably. Look for materials that provide adequate grip and cushioning, as these can enhance stability and comfort during various poses. Additionally, consider the mat's durability and ease of cleaning, as these factors contribute to its longevity and maintenance. Finally, evaluate the weight and portability if you plan to transport the mat to different locations.
The thickness of a yoga mat plays a significant role in providing comfort and support during practice. Thicker mats often offer more cushioning, which can be beneficial for those who prefer extra padding for their joints or who practice on hard surfaces. Conversely, thinner mats may provide a more stable connection to the ground, which can enhance balance and stability during poses. Ultimately, the choice of thickness depends on personal preference and the type of yoga practiced.
Longer yoga mats can be suitable for many types of yoga practices, especially those that involve a lot of movement or require more space for poses. They provide extra length for individuals who may need additional room for their limbs during stretches and transitions. However, the choice of mat ultimately depends on personal preference and the specific style of yoga being practiced. Some practitioners may find that a standard-sized mat meets their needs just fine.
Long yoga mats are typically made from materials such as PVC, TPE, and natural rubber. PVC mats offer durability and a non-slip surface, making them suitable for various yoga styles. TPE is a more eco-friendly option that provides cushioning and support while being lightweight. Natural rubber mats are known for their excellent grip and comfort, enhancing stability during poses. Each material can influence the overall feel and performance of the mat, catering to different preferences and practices.
To determine the right length for a yoga mat based on your height, consider a mat that is at least six inches longer than your height. This extra length provides ample space for various poses and ensures comfort during practice. For taller individuals, opting for an extra-long mat can enhance your experience by allowing for full extension in poses without feeling restricted. Many mats are available in different lengths, so you can find one that suits your needs.
When selecting a long yoga mat, consider the material and texture, as these factors significantly influence grip and stability. Look for mats made from high-quality, non-slip materials that provide traction even during challenging poses. Additionally, a thicker mat can offer more cushioning, which may enhance comfort and stability during practice. Finally, ensure the mat has a sufficient length to accommodate your movements without restriction.
Yes, a long yoga mat can be used for various fitness activities beyond yoga. Its extended length provides extra space for exercises such as Pilates, stretching, and bodyweight workouts. The cushioning and grip of the mat can enhance comfort and stability during these activities, making it a versatile addition to your fitness routine. Many people find that a longer mat accommodates a wider range of movements and poses.
Using a thicker yoga mat can provide additional cushioning and support, making it more comfortable for various poses and exercises. This extra padding can help reduce pressure on joints, which may be beneficial for those practicing on hard surfaces. Thicker mats can also offer better stability and grip, enhancing overall performance during workouts. Many individuals find that a thicker mat allows for a more enjoyable and focused practice.
Different styles of long yoga mats are designed to accommodate various yoga practices by offering unique features suited to specific needs. For instance, thicker mats provide extra cushioning, making them ideal for restorative or gentle yoga sessions, while thinner mats may offer better stability for more dynamic practices like vinyasa or power yoga. Additionally, mats with textured surfaces can enhance grip during challenging poses, while extra-long options ensure that practitioners have ample space for movement. Overall, the choice of mat style can enhance comfort and performance based on the type of yoga being practiced.
The durability of a long yoga mat is influenced by several factors, including the materials used in its construction and the thickness of the mat. High-quality materials, such as natural rubber or PVC, tend to offer better resilience and longevity. Additionally, a thicker mat can provide more cushioning and support, which may help it withstand regular use over time. Proper care and maintenance, such as cleaning and storing the mat correctly, also play a significant role in extending its lifespan.
