Have had a Manduka ProLite mat for…10 years! That ’s incredible, it really is. Problem is, I ’ m a sweater when I work out. I would slip and slide all over my old mat. Upon discovering rubber mats, I went to Dicks and was surprised that my local store only carried the Calia brand in general for yoga. Fortunately they had a great display of unfolded mats, and I was able to feel and see the selection. This one caught me, I LOVED the texture. Well, it works, and amazingly at that! LEAGUES above the ProLite in terms of grip. Now, I do find I still slightly slip when I ’ m overly sweating( and this will be right at the end of an hour hard workout mind you). So, I decided I needed a new yoga mat because the one I had was too thick and therefore not easy to carry around. I saw this kit and I thought it was a great price for everything that it came with( but to be honest, I bought the kit for the yoga mat print that I wanted because I already have a strap and the blocks). What a great product! I really do n't understand why people complain that the mat is too slippery. There were times in class, in balance poses that required me to take a foot from the mat that it was actually `` challenging '' to make the mat unstick from my foot, seriously! If I could suggest something, it would be to have two blocks as part of the kit instead of just one considering that many beginner poses that require inversions or balancing might need two blocks instead of just one. But aside from that, I wish I knew about the kit before I purchased my other yoga stuff.

The mats are a great size, they are plenty long enough and a little more narrow than a regular mat. They do have that stinky smell that lots of yoga mats have when you first get them. I got the yoga Mat towel because I found the mat I had was hard to keep clean and saw that these could be washed. It is beautifully colored. Easy to carry and to put in place when ready to use. It is easy to store and the best part is that it washes. I do not have a dryer and it does line dry well. It came out perfect and ready for use again. I prefer this over my mat for the pilates I do at home.
