I am so happy I got this coat for the torrential rains that are happening in California right now. I usually wear a medium... sized up to a large and I am glad I did. You can wear in in the 50 ’s unzipped without getting too hot, and I ’ ve worn it in mid 30 ’s drizzle comfortably. Any cooler than 30 degrees and you ’ d probably want to throw on a fleece underneath. The Sherpa is a very nice touch, and I love the hood. This coat is more comfortable than my previous coat, time will tell if it also lasts me 20 years.

The hood rolls away to be packed in the collar if not needed. They worked so well, the guide wanted to know what they were and where we got them. [ I love this jacket. It's a perfect weight to layer warmth underneath, or keep yourself cool on warm rainy days. It fits beautifully. I prefer light colors for visibility in stormy conditions, so I got the white/tan one. The internal drawstring at the waist is flattering. The hood WILL NOT blow down in wind. I wish they did n't use so much velcro on the front tab covering the zipper, but I do like the low profile effect of it, so it's a wash. I am 5' 8 '', 125# and I got the small.

Was great when I took my child for walks at the parks. Fabric is soft and comfortable and it's well made. The sleeves are roomy enough to slide on without fighting a watch band and fall just past my wrists. A comfortable elastic sits around your wrist and does a pretty good job of keeping the sleeves in place while not feeling tight. The fabric of this jacket is soft to the touch and extremely light, providing a comfortable wearing experience that does n't weigh you down. Even though the fabric feels delicate, it proved itself perfectly balanced-- able to keep me comfortable in the winter chill at the start of my workout and manage to not leave me overheated at the end. The jacket fit like a glove, yet I still felt like I had plenty of room to move without anything riding up or feeling too tight. There was enough room to be able to wear anything from long sleeve to just a sports bra without issue. The hem is asymmetrical, going from shorter in the front to a slightly longer back hem line. I loved this because it still allowed use of a running belt while keeping my lower back more comfortably covered. And did I mention the hood? Light, but providing full coverage so this jacket can demonstrate the full force of its water repellant ability. The hood was my favorite feature. I feel like hoods often do n't cover enough or stay on well enough as you move. This one had no issues with that. Oh, and the front pockets zip, so you do n't have to worry about anything flying out while you 're moving. There's a lot to love in this jacket, and it even includes a whistle tucked into the lapel that you can use when you 're running alone or need to call out to your running buddy. I do n't have any complaints, but if I had to change one thing, I would lengthen the sleeves and add thumb holes. I did feel like the elastic kept the sleeves down pretty well, but thumb holes are just that extra security I love when I run. Overall, this jacket fit great, looked excellent, felt comfortable, and kept me covered and at an ideal temperature from the start of my run to the end.

One of the best parts of this jacket is how well it holds up in gusty conditions. Even without layering heavily, I could feel noticeably less wind- chill than with my old softshell. Very happy with that. The hand pockets are secure, the sleeve pocket is handy for small stuff, and mesh pocket bags help with breathability. The drawcord hem and elastic cuffs let me tighten things up nicely when wind picks up.

I love that it's made of 75% recycled material and is also waterproof. Cool! My favorites about this coat are in the details though!! The sleeves have elastic so you can pull them up your arms and they stay. The zipper pulls all have a little extender on them for convenient use and there is an elastic hook to hang the coat by. Probably my favorite detail is the design of the hood pulls. You can pull your hood tight and lock it into place with a stopper. But even more awesome, the stopper is on a loop with a little blocking washer so your strings wo n't get lost in the holes of the hood during wear or washing. Amazing design!!! The only thing I would mention here is that I am a woman and this is a mens coat so the design is very straight; no room for hips at all- so I would suggest getting a womens style coat if you are at all curvy. For me I just tuck it under. Also for a men's small to fit me perfect makes me think it may run a bit small( as I think most Nike items do). Overall, highly recommend.

There are countless details that set this rain jacket apart from other brands. First, it's remarkably comfortable. The inside liner makes the jacket/skin contact feel like a normal jacket as opposed to the discomfort plastic feel of other brands. The jacket is quiet, and hardly has any sound typically associated with rain jackets. The hood works wonderfully, fits well around my head, and does n't block my vision when looking left and right. The sleeve design around the wrist even allows for you to check your watch with ease, but effortlessly slides back over based on the well positioned elastic. The sleeves do n't ride up while casting a fly rod either. I waited to write a review until I 'd spent some time on the water fishing with it as well. The jacket performed equally as well in a 5 hour down pour while I waded a NC trout stream as it does walking around town. I had no restrictions fly casting, and landing fish. I remained dry after fishing for 5 hours in a constant downpour, and it breathed well the entire time. I enjoy all of my Free Fly products, but this jacket is my favorite product yet. If you have any need for a quality rain jacket with extreme comfort, range of motion, and legit rain resistance then this is a must purchase.

Received a little late due to shipping SNAFU, but Elliot at FFA had another in the mail quickly. Once I received the jacket, I was well impressed with its quality and impeccable attention to detail. I can not overstate that, as there was not an errant thread, fabric blemish, or ill- bonded seam whatsoever. A word of caution to those who might overthink the sizing- it is definitely true to size, so plan accordingly if you intend to layer underneath. 50 degree downpours or light rain are what it excels at. Much colder, and you ’ ll be dry and cold, as when properly fitted and NOT up- sized, you won ’ t have enough room to comfortably layer. Mine fits exceptionally well with no binding or hiking up during practically any activity. It fits best with a T, a polo, or a normal poly/cotton collared shirt. Much more than that underneath- cautiously consider oversizing. I say this because the arm length and cuffs are perfectly matched to the size- at least for me. I prefer a perfect cuff length with the necessary true fit on my torso, than longer cuffs that would expectedly come with an up- sized torso. My tape measurements are: Chest( nipples)- 41 ” /Tummy( bellybutton)- 39 ” /Hips( pelvis)- 37 ” /booty- 38 ”. Weight: 162lbs. Height: 5 ’ 9 ” I ’ d have hoped for this type fitting information when I purchased a somewhat expensive and purpose- built rain jacket, but that is not realistic given the variance in body types. So if anyone has similar sizing to me, you can rest assured that my measurements are indicative of the fit I have reviewed. One thing I can ’ t stress enough though, the cuff length is spot- on for me, at the size jacket I purchased( L). They extend just past the wrist bone, and my nape to wrist bone measurement is 31. 5 ” I ’ m hugely satisfied with the jacket, and feel that the value is within the range of price……. perhaps slightly lower by 7- 10 percent by some, but that is based on the individual.

[ The construction and material are really good- matte color as promised, does n't seem to wet out, and feels durable so far. Seam tape is a bit flashy- I would have probably preferred black, matte seam tape as well ideally. No DWR is a huge positive( both in terms of chemical use, and in terms of maintenance since no need to reapply). I 'd love to see the outer material in high performance footwear for the same benefits and performance. The only issue for me is that even the small fit is a bit baggy on its own- perhaps when layering in cold weather the fit will work better. While this jacket is n't marketed as packable, it packs well into a reasonable size for its construction.

[ I like to hike in the rain. For the past 25 years I 've lived on the Pacific Northwest coast and had plenty of opportunity to do so. I can say with certainty there is no other breathable rain jacket that will keep you as dry as one made with Columbia's Outdry. All other jackets suffer from the same problem. Eventually the outer fabric will wet out and water will wick in through the hood and cuffs leaving you wet and uncomfortable. Not so with Outdry. This stuff is amazing. I also like the impermeable look, taped outside seams and all. It makes a statement you are serious about the time you spend outdoors and it delivers. Although the jacket runs large, Columbia's sizing tool did put me into the right size for my frame.

[ Live in the PNW and have gone through a handful of rain jackets from cheap to expensive and new until worn out. This is my first with a solid barrier versus various coatings( probably toxix PFAS). Can not say this jacket doesn ’ t have them, but it seems much more robust and the slighly soft inside is a big improvement over the sticky plastic laters of past jackets. Time will tell. [ This Nike water repellent woven jacket is amazing! My daughter loves it and it ’s the jacket she chooses to wear almost every day. It is super lightweight and has a very soft feel to it. It has a folded hood around the collar that also creates an extra style point. It ’s perfect for those hot humid days where it starts to rain and she can be protected and comfortable. It folds up nice and small so it doesn ’ t require a lot of space to pack it just in case. The color is beautiful and after many washes, has not faded. [ This jacket is amazing! My daughter wore it to Nordic ski one afternoon and she was perfectly comfortable. It blocked enough of the wind to keep her temperature just right, and it was water- repellent when she encountered some melting snow. This jacket is designed very well with a hood that fits nicely into a snug collar. It did the trick to keep the wind and water out as needed but it is still trim and stylish. I can see this jacket becoming a go- to for travel or anytime we need something with utility in a compact size. The fabric is very light and breathable, but did the trick to keep my daughter temperature controlled in wind and dry and melting snow. I love the utility and compact nature of the jacket. After wearing it for the full day at school I asked her what she thought and she said “ Mom, it was great! It kept me warm when it was windy, and it kept me cool when I got hot! ”

I am absolutely in LOVE with the color and warmth of this jacket! Just finished a Utah 10K wearing it, the weather started at 35 degrees with partial Sun and wind, and ended at 41 degrees. I wore this jacket with just a t shirt underneath, and stayed at the perfect temp the entire run!!! Omg I need more of these babies! I loved that I could fold up the hood, and all of the pockets. My last favorite detail is the hidden red buttons, as they are so cute and such a small but fun pop of color that can be hidden:)

I recently ran a half marathon where the weather while I was out on the course consisted of snow/sleet/hail/rain. Over 2 hours in these elements and I was warm and dry. Worth every penny to not freeze and be able to enjoy the race despite the horrible conditions!

I REALLY like this jacket. The material is so light for a rain jacket/wind breaker. I wouldn ’ t recommend it in heavy rain, but lighter rain yes. But it packs down so small it ’s easy to stick in your vest or just wear with the backpack straps on it so it ’s there if any wind or storms pop up.

I 'm a CDL driver and was looking for a lightweight hi vis rain jacket. I bought this one. Only wearing once walking across the truck stop parking lot in the rain.
