[ I love the fit, style and colors of this new set. I was surprised that there is not a ski pass pocket on the arm( big oversight in my opinion). I still can ’ t wait to suit up this winter.

Susanne
I 'm very happy with this jacket and the matching bibs so far. It's roomy enough that I could layer up on an icy cold day in BC in December, but also fits fine over minimal layers on warmer days. I typically ski on the wet side of the Cascades, and I can say this set is waterproof enough to meet the challenge of a warm- ish rainy ski day. My only critiques are: 1) the top- entry pockets are really hard to get my phone in and out of. The opening is technically big enough but it takes both hands to open the pocket wide enough to jam my large phone through. 2) the front zipper is kind of hard to operate while wearing gloves. Also there's definitely a pocket on the left forearm for a ski pass- not sure if other reviewers had a different version or what, but mine is not lacking a pass pocket.

I haven ’ t had a chance to wear the jacket yet but the quality seems great. Fit is very standard, you can fit a layer underneath easily and feels very warm after just trying on. The fabric elastic cuffs feel very soft and not too tight, my last ski jacket they were way too tight and got in the way of wearing my gloves.

[ The North Face Women's Arctic Triclimate Jacket is an excellent investment for anyone who wants to stay warm and dry in the coldest of weather. The outer shell is made from durable, waterproof material that keeps the elements at bay, while the inner layer is insulated with premium goose down for unparalleled warmth. One of the standout features of this jacket is its versatility. The Triclimate design means that it comes with a removable, insulated inner layer that can be worn on its own or zipped into the outer shell for added protection from the elements. This makes it an excellent choice for those who want a jacket that can adapt to changing weather conditions. In terms of style, the North Face Women's Arctic Triclimate Jacket is both practical and fashionable. The sleek, streamlined design is flattering and looks great with a variety of outfits, while the range of available colors means that there is an option to suit every taste. Overall, I would highly recommend the North Face Women's Arctic Triclimate Jacket to anyone who wants a high- quality, versatile, and stylish jacket that will keep them warm and dry in even the harshest of conditions. It's a great investment that is sure to provide years of reliable use and enjoyment.

I love this coat. It is beautiful, warm, and exactly what I was looking for. I have multiple Fjallraven coats, and this is the only one I have had to size down in( XS instead of a S), as it does run pretty large.
5
Malory
You can immediately feel the quality craftsmanship in this piece as soon as you touch it. When in bitter conditions and needing to hunker down, the inner sections cover my mouth and nose and are soft against my face. For a synthetic piece, I was impressed by how much the insulation reminded me of down. It ’s light and warmed up quickly within moments of me having it on. The massive interior drop pockets are awesome and large enough to effortlessly stash my bulky gloves. The hand pockets are deep, so I don ’ t have to worry about fitting my whole hand inside to warm up if I forget gloves. The stretchy wrist cuffs completely seal out drafts, yet I barely notice they are there. This is my preferred jacket on wet winter days.

[ I have had a small in the brand for the last 10 years and love the brand. It ’s hard to find a jacket that buttons inside and that is my favorite feature. I ’ m not a snowboarder or skier. I ’ ve owned 2 other puffers( Patagonia and Rab). The Helium combined my favorite aspects of both jackets into one and improved on some other aspects. Only thing I can ’ t attest to is the jackets durability. I ’ ve had my Patagonia puffer for nearly 10 years, hoping this one lasts that or more! Pros:- lightweight but very warm( tested in the 20 ’s and 30F so far, expecting to see how it fairs in the negatives soon)- hand pockets are lined and warm- hood is a must have for long bouts in cold weather IMO- phone pocket on the chest fits a new pro max IPhone with a case on it- large internal open pockets, probably won ’ t use much but nice additional feature- the hood and shoulders have a water repellant material Con: My only negative is the sizing, I ’ m 6 ’ 200lbs and usually wear an XL for jackets. A large would have fit more athletically with room for another layer underneath. I live in a place it can get to- 50 or colder so having space to layer is wicked helpful, but an XL is a tough too big.
5
brett g
very happy with this downie. granted, I would n't try my luck in a Minnesota winter with this and a tee shirt, but for simple, functional northwest cold, this jacket is perfect. the fit is great, roominess enough but not too much, and the sizing is dead on( I 'm 5' 10 '' and 180, bought a large). good coat for the casual wearer and will last well on hikes, but the more serious outdoorsman may prefer a bit more durability.

I 've only had this jacket for a couple of days, but I am already very impressed. It's very warm, the zips are all high quality, the pockets are sooo soft and nice to put my hands in. I love how the neck comes right up to my chin so even if I do n't have the hood on, I can zip the neck right up and I feel like I am wearing a scarf. Very happy with the styling too. It has a lot of really nice features and attention to detail. Great jacket for the price.

I havent tested in temps below zero yet or rainy conditions but I 'm sure if you added a shell over it would be fine

[ I bought this as a gift for my husband for an upcoming trip. He is 6' and around 190 lbs, and I got him the XL. The sleeves are a bit long but they do have velcro to adjust and tighten them around the wrist. It's roomy but great for layering, though I think if he were ever to pull out the inner layer of the thin down shell, the outer jacket would be huge on him. The length is great for his longer torso, it covers his butt well. He had requested no hood and this one is detachable( not easy to find a decent ski jacket without a hood!) so another win!

[ This versatile jacket has many features which are perfect for ski. It is 3- in- 1 so can be adjusted to different temperature with its combination. under arm vent provide extra air flow when needed. GORE- TEX keeps your body warm and dry. Sksksk26
I 'm 5'2 100lbs and usually wear an XS and this jacket fits me well with extra room for layering. I love the Turtle Dove color as it is a creamy/vanilla shade that pairs well with any snow pant color. Amazing features- snow skirt, thumb cut outs, water proof and wind proof, zippers up to my chin, well insulated, and, multiple pockets. This jacket is one of the best quality ski jackets on the market now. I would say it's comparable to Helly Hansen's Alphelia jacket in terms of fit and features but for a lower price point. It even has a similar fit to the Arc'teryx jackets if you cinch the waistline in and tuck it. You can get away with wearing no layers underneath this jacket in 30F weather. I 've already gotten many compliments and will be wearing this to back to back ski trips in Vermont and Colorado! I agree with other reviews that a snow helmet can not fit underneath the hood, but that is NOT a con for me as wearing a hood while skiing usually obstructs my view anyway.

I just got this jacket, but by first impressions of use... WOW! This thing is exactly what I wanted. I have a shell for warmer days but had to bundle too many layers to stay warm on those cold days. I run very hot while skiing, I get to the bottom and need to strip or open all my layers to not overheat. This jacket gives you breathability while carrying the insulation that keeps you warm on the chair up. Literally the only thing that could be improved is the size of the armpit ventilation. Like I mentioned above I run hot so I would have enjoyed more airflow when I open the vents. But that tiny detail is the only thing I can find at fault and it's more of a personal preference. Bravo Mountain Hardwear!

[ I bought this to wear skiing and it is beautiful and warm. I am usually a size 8 or medium in tops but ordered a size 10( as my last ski jacket was a 10). It was a little to big so I ended up ordering a size 8. I love it!

[ I absolutely love this jacket. It ’s incredibly lightweight and not bulky at all, but it still keeps me surprisingly warm. I mainly use it for snowboarding& skiing and am warm with just 1 layer underneath. It blocks wind, water, and snow while staying comfortable and dry all day. I love that it ’s lightly layered so I can move freely and adjust underneath as needed. On top of that, it has a sleek, cool look that doesn ’ t feel overly technical or stiff. Highly recommend this jacket for anyone who wants performance, comfort, and style all in one.

Waterproofed well! The jacket withstood a long day of high wind and heavy snow. Love the external zipper seal on the pockets. This shell is perfect if you naturally run hot like I do. I rode the mountain from 9AM- 3PM and did n't have to open the vents at all. I was nervous about putting my phone in the internal pocket because it did n't have a zipper. However, despite taking some serious falls my phone stayed in the pocket! Side note: The hood is not compatible with my size medium helmet. I recommend confirming compatibility before ripping the tags off.

[ Has all the Things and is a pretty color! I loved this Jacket it had everything I wanted the zipper pocket on the arm for your pass and the inside pockets. The underarm zipper vents. I ordered the XL and even though it fit well I returned it and got a next size up. I would rather to big than to small next ski season. so happy I found a stylish and perfect jack in a color other than black.

I have 5 days of skiing on the jacket in weather from sunny/warm to heavy snow. The fabric breathability is perfect for sidecountry/in- bounds skiing, but a touch heavy if you 're looking for a backcountry jacket. Great windproofing while still breathing. I am 5'11, 165lbs, with broad shoulders. I bought the medium and it can be worn with a puffy underneath comfortably. Not baggy, but still free range of movement. A touch more room on the shoulders would have suited me a bit better. There are a ton of useful pockets, no shortage. Zippers are easy to access, pit zips are a bit cumbersome however. Velcro on the cuffs is easy to adjust with different gloves.

Got this jacket as a gift and absolutely love the style, fit and features! I am a snowboard instructor at a resort in Oregon and wear it every day and this is now my all time favorite shell. The pockets are really well placed, great length, and the full coverage hood is perfect when the weather gets really bad.

[ Per the sleeve length, I thought they would be too long, but they are perfect. Love the fit. I bought the small. I am 5: 2 '', 105 '' and feel it's perfect fit wise. Have not worn it on the Mtn yet, but pretty sure it 'll be very warm. Only drawback is I wish it had pit zips.

[ Perfect, in every way- fit, form,& function. Fit is outstanding, perhaps best describes as athletic. Form checks all of the boxes, most importantly- plenty of pockets. Can ’ t speak to function as of yet, since it hasn ’ t left the house yet but, gauging by everything else thus far, I ’ m sure it will not disappoint.

When selecting a winter ski coat, consider features such as insulation type, waterproofing, and breathability. Look for jackets with a durable outer layer that can withstand harsh weather conditions while keeping you warm. Additional features like adjustable hoods, ventilation zippers, and multiple pockets can enhance comfort and convenience on the slopes. Ensure the fit allows for layering without restricting movement, as this is essential for an enjoyable skiing experience.
To choose the right size for a winter ski coat, start by measuring your chest, waist, and hips to find your corresponding size on the brand's sizing chart. Consider the type of layering you plan to wear underneath; if you intend to wear thicker base layers, you may want to size up for comfort. Additionally, check for features like adjustable cuffs and hems, which can help customize the fit. Finally, ensure that the coat allows for a full range of motion, especially in the shoulders and arms, to enhance your skiing experience.
Winter ski coats typically use a variety of materials for insulation to provide warmth and comfort in cold conditions. Common insulation materials include synthetic fibers, such as polyester, which offer good thermal efficiency and moisture-wicking properties. Down insulation, made from the soft feathers of ducks or geese, is also popular for its lightweight warmth. Additionally, some coats may feature a combination of these materials to enhance performance and durability.
Yes, different styles of winter ski coats are designed to perform well in various skiing conditions. For instance, insulated jackets are ideal for colder climates, providing warmth and comfort on the slopes. Waterproof and breathable materials are essential for wet or snowy conditions, ensuring you stay dry while allowing moisture to escape. Additionally, lightweight options may be suitable for milder weather or backcountry skiing, offering flexibility and ease of movement.
Winter ski coats vary in waterproofing and breathability based on the materials and technologies used in their construction. Waterproofing is essential for keeping you dry in snowy and wet conditions, while breathability allows moisture from sweat to escape, helping to regulate body temperature. Many ski coats feature a combination of waterproof membranes and breathable fabrics to balance these two important aspects. The level of waterproofing and breathability can differ, so it's important to consider your specific needs and the conditions you will be skiing in.
A hood on a winter ski coat provides added warmth and protection against cold weather conditions, helping to keep your head and neck insulated. It can also shield you from wind, snow, and rain, enhancing your overall comfort while skiing. Many hoods are adjustable or removable, allowing for versatility based on personal preference and weather conditions. Additionally, a well-designed hood can accommodate a helmet, ensuring safety without sacrificing warmth.
The weight of a winter ski coat is an important factor for skiing activities as it can affect mobility and comfort on the slopes. A lighter coat allows for greater freedom of movement, which is essential for skiing performance. However, it is also crucial to balance weight with insulation and weather protection to ensure warmth and comfort in cold conditions. Many skiers prefer coats that provide adequate warmth without being overly bulky, allowing for a more enjoyable experience on the mountain.
When selecting a winter ski coat for layering, consider the fit to ensure comfort and mobility. Look for a coat that offers enough room in the shoulders and chest to accommodate base layers and mid-layers without feeling restrictive. Additionally, check for adjustable features like cuffs and hems, which can help seal in warmth while allowing for a customizable fit. A slightly longer cut can also provide extra coverage and protection against the elements.
Yes, there are winter ski coats designed specifically for both women and men. These coats often feature tailored fits and styles that cater to the unique body shapes and preferences of each gender. Additionally, they may include specific design elements such as pocket placements and insulation types that enhance comfort and performance on the slopes. When choosing a ski coat, it's important to consider these gender-specific features to ensure the best fit and functionality.
To maintain the performance of a winter ski coat, it is important to follow proper care instructions. Regularly clean the coat according to the manufacturer's guidelines, using a gentle detergent and avoiding fabric softeners, which can affect water resistance. Store the coat in a cool, dry place, and ensure it is completely dry before putting it away to prevent mildew. Additionally, periodically reapply a water-repellent treatment to restore its protective qualities.
