[ I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. My first impression of the Nuketo was that it was comfortable and fit well. It feels like a jacket that sits somewhere between an everyday jacket and a more technical outdoor layer. I would probably consider it more of an everyday or casual jacket, but the fit and low profile make it useful for short hikes and as a layer under a shell for colder activities. I really like that it is n't overly puffy. It provides enough warmth for cooler weather but still leaves room to layer underneath or over it. I 've found it comfortable to wear for long periods and easy to move around in. The overall style is simple enough that I would have no problem wearing it around town, but it still works well for outdoor use. The DWR finish is nice for light moisture, especially when wearing it as an outer layer. I also like the feel of the outer fabric and stitching. They seem more durable than some of the lightweight materials I 've used on other insulated jackets. I 've had other puffy jackets get small rips or punctures pretty easily, so I would have less concern about stuffing the Nuketo into a backpack on an overnight trip and having it catch on a zipper or something sharp. I have n't had the jacket long enough to comment on long term durability or how it will perform through multiple seasons, but I can see myself using it regularly through the fall and winter. For me, the biggest benefit is the versatility. It's comfortable enough for everyday wear, but still practical for hiking and mountain trips, especially when I want one jacket that can serve several purposes.

[ I recently received my new Nuketo jacket and took it to rappel a waterfall nearby to keep me dry( er) and warm. The jacket repelled the water from the waterfall while I was rappelling down, keeping my upper body nice and dry and warm. I wish there was a little bit of flex or stretch built into the jacket – It would make it even better for outdoor activities that require big movements like rock climbing or canyoneering. It does have slightly looser fit though, which helps. The cuffs around the wrist are a bit large, which makes it easier to wear layers underneath, or if you have thick forearms and wrists( which I don ’ t have). This jacket provides a medium amount of warmth, and the fit allows you to wear layers underneath if you need additional warmth. It packs down decently for not having down insulation inside. I think it's a great jacket for cooler spring/fall days and colder weather up in the mountains. On really cold days, this jacket can be a mid layer while wearing a base layer and a more weatherproof shell. I ’ m excited to wear it this fall and winter as I go through canyons and hike in the mountains. As a side note, sometimes I wear this jacket at my desk at work-- the AC in the building is sometimes functions too well and I get cold. This jacket helps me not get too cold while at my desk. If I were to make 3 changes to the design it would be tighter cuffs, a way to cinch the waist, and add some type of stretch fabric where you move the most, but that said – I still really like the jacket as it is now. [ The North Face Nuketo synthetic insulated jacket is a great jacket for cool mornings! Lightweight and really keeps the wind out! I wore the jacket in about 60- 65 degree weather and a light breeze and you could n't feel the cool breeze! It helps warm your core up by keeping your body heat in the jacket! The jacket is asthetically pleasing, not bulky so your movement can be natural. The sizing was good I 'm 5'9, average build and I wore a large and had just the right amount of coverage for my arms, sleeves were n't short when moving my arms! There was enough room under the jacket that if I wanted to I could wear a hoodie underneath it. I 'd recommend this jacket as a everyday jacket for the Fall or Spring temperatures, wearing it to go to work or run errands. I 'd even recommend this jacket to people going camping or recreating outdoors in cooler high elevation areas during the summer, like the mountains here in Colorado, where temperatures are upper 40s low 50s but then warm up during the day. This is a great jacket to wear if you need to stop the wind and just keep your core warm but you do n't need a huge jacket! I have not wore it in rain yet but I think it 'd be ok for light sprinkle rain, not downpour rain! I just got this jacket, but by first impressions of use... WOW! This thing is exactly what I wanted. I have a shell for warmer days but had to bundle too many layers to stay warm on those cold days. I run very hot while skiing, I get to the bottom and need to strip or open all my layers to not overheat. This jacket gives you breathability while carrying the insulation that keeps you warm on the chair up. Literally the only thing that could be improved is the size of the armpit ventilation. Like I mentioned above I run hot so I would have enjoyed more airflow when I open the vents. But that tiny detail is the only thing I can find at fault and it's more of a personal preference. Bravo Mountain Hardwear!

These bibs were fantastic for my snowboarding trip in Breckenridge. These bibs were extra flexible and did n't make me feel as constrained as other bibs have. They fit well and were very comfortable for riding from first chair to last. We ended up having a pretty wide range of temperatures from 40 to- 10. The vents did a great job of keeping me cool on the warmer days, and I only had to add a single layer of thermal underwear( top and bottom) to be comfortable on the- 10 days!

The sleeves are a bit long but they do have velcro to adjust and tighten them around the wrist. It's roomy but great for layering, though I think if he were ever to pull out the inner layer of the thin down shell, the outer jacket would be huge on him. The length is great for his longer torso, it covers his butt well. He had requested no hood and this one is detachable( not easy to find a decent ski jacket without a hood!) so another win!

This jacket served me well for 10 years of steady use every winter/fall and I finally replaced it. The quality is superb, the new Pertex Shield on the shoulders/arms gives it a much more durable feel. It has a premium feel in the hand and is a nice blend of weight/durability. Fits great with layers underneath, but also works well as a mid- layer under a shell. I 'm a fan of the new color options too. I like the cut of OR jackets. I am 6 ’ 1 ” 235. The Helium Down does not disappoint regarding warmth. It has that soft down feeling with added structural integrity where one might carry a pack. The gusseting in the arm allow for a full range of motion without much rise. I have long arms and can still draw out without the jacket tightening too much in the back. If for some reason I found myself in dire need of more warmth I could wear it underneath a jacket or shell because it could compress enough to almost be a base layer and not sacrifice its loft. At which point I am certain to roast.

Love that this uses a fairly high fill power down( 800+), making it warm and space/weight efficient. I have higher fill power items like MH ghost whisperer UL( 1000 FP), but most UL garments use fragile fabrics and do n't have any weather protection, so they 're really limited to cold, dry weather. The Helium Down Jacket has weather resistance in key areas due to the Pertex Diamond Fuse panels, which makes it more versatile. It wo n't be a great outer layer if you 're expecting heavy rain, but I wear it by itself in a light mist or under a shell if heavy rain is expected. The Pertex panels are a little crinkly, but not as loud as some reviews suggest. I found the sizing to be accurate. This is quickly becoming a staple of my wardrobe from fall through spring. I 've had my RG foray for a little over 3 years and it's been pretty good to me. I 've mostly worn the puffer by itself in cool weather. There's little wind resistance to it, so be warned. Otherwise it's a good standalone layer on even the coldest days for short exposure times. I 've had to wear the jacket on several rainy days, and the full system during an Easter trip to the UK in' 23. Scotland, Wales, and northern England are n't known for great weather in March and this trip was no exception. We endured near constant wind and periodic rain& sleet. When we went to London it rained for several hours one day and we were in it at its hardest. The fabric shed water well without getting soaked, as I 'd expect from OR. All in all, it's a good buy.

I ’ ve owned 2 other puffers( Patagonia and Rab). The Helium combined my favorite aspects of both jackets into one and improved on some other aspects. Only thing I can ’ t attest to is the jackets durability. I ’ ve had my Patagonia puffer for nearly 10 years, hoping this one lasts that or more! Pros:- lightweight but very warm( tested in the 20 ’s and 30F so far, expecting to see how it fairs in the negatives soon)- hand pockets are lined and warm- hood is a must have for long bouts in cold weather IMO- phone pocket on the chest fits a new pro max IPhone with a case on it- large internal open pockets, probably won ’ t use much but nice additional feature- the hood and shoulders have a water repellant material Con: My only negative is the sizing, I ’ m 6 ’ 200lbs and usually wear an XL for jackets. A large would have fit more athletically with room for another layer underneath. I live in a place it can get to- 50 or colder so having space to layer is wicked helpful, but an XL is a tough too big.

LOVE this jacket! I 'm 6'2 and bought XL for extra movement and layering when snowboarding. Pros: The synthetic fill is the best I 've ever felt, I honestly thought it was down fill. I love that it stays warm and holds its lofty puffiness when in wet snow conditions. My other Sitka down jacket loses its loft quickly in the arms and back when I start perspiring from a morning of hiking or snowboarding. But's it's so soft a cozy. I often just wear a t- shirt or thin base layer under it if I 'm just staring around a camp fire. It's very warm and the hand and chin backings are super soft. Cons: My only complaint is that it does n't have a well placed hood draw string for windy conditions. The single draw string on the hood is more a retention string for side to side movement of your head. And the outer fabric is very delicate, I know its gon na snag and tear on a tree branch one of these days.... I personally wish it was a little bit thicker like on my wife's Expedition down jacket.

This shell has proven a perfect addition to time in the elements where protection is critical and weight is a factor. I have used this on a several volcano ski missions this past summer and spring. It packs light and provides the summit protection needed when wind is ripping and body temps are dropping. Marmot allotted a good amount of pockets without going overboard and the pit zips provide ventilation that allows you to tune your protection on the move without having to stop to layer up or down. When it comes to rain protection, it's hard to beat Gore. It also vents well for active pursuits.

I wore this in Portland and the temperature range on this coat is great. I did not feel too hot when it was warmer but never felt like it wasn ’ t warm enough when the temperature dropped. I love my Fjallraven Singi Down Jacket! I purchased this jacket in dark navy two years ago and to this day, it is my go- to jacket for really cold weather. I live in the north east of the U. S. so the temps can drop to sub- 20 degrees( Fahrenheit), but this jacket and it ’s ethically sourced down does an excellent job at keeping the warmth trapped inside. I must say that it ’s roomy enough to layer up underneath and I actually had to size down to a small, when I normally take medium in everything I purchase. For reference, I am 5 ’- 9 ”, 160 lbs, lean, athletic build. So keep in mind that sizing down may be necessary depending on your height and weight.

Highly recommend this jacket! I bought it for a winter trip to the Swedish Lapland( Abisko and Kiruna). It got down to 0F or so(- 17C). This jacket is an absolute beast! Couple the jacket with the Fjallraven thin wool top and a light sweater and you 'll be super warm. The tour guides all offered winter clothes to borrow and they had this same jacket! The pockets are plentiful and excellent. Big outside pockets for your hat and gloves and small zippered pockets for your phone/wallet. The fit is also top notch. Zipped up it looks great and I received many compliments from total strangers. I have the navy. I 'll still give it five stars, but the zipper is 0/10. It's on the `` wrong ''( left) side for a men's jacket and assuming you are right- handed, it is extremely difficult to get started. You 'll definitely need to have both gloves off and even then, it is very tough. One other thing to keep in mind: this is an extremely warm jacket. In 35F weather, you 'll be roasting to death in just a t- shirt, even unzipped. This jacket is really designed for days when it's 25F or colder.

I think I can best summarize my opinion of this coat in that it makes me want to go outside in blizzards. This thing is sooo warm and well designed for practical use; I spend a huge amount of time standing outside for hours in the winter and this is the perfect tool for the job. Not only is it warm, but its also very durable. The external fabric is tough! I have no concerns about it every ripping which is a huge peace of mind, I think the thick fabric also helps protect from wind which is really nice when its blustery. The pockets are very generous and perfect for stashing gloves or other moderate sizes items if needed. I find myself rarely needing the hood but when I do its oversized and very helpful in protecting against flakes or wind. The only thing that I dont absolutely love about this thing is the zipper for some reason its a bit hard to line up, and there is a bit of a learning curve, its funny, every winter it takes me a couple tries when first using the coat to get the feel for it, but after that I have no issus; on the other hand, the zipper is very durable so its not like I 'm concerned about it failing, more that it just takes a bit of a specific' touch' to get it to line up. Overall I would highly reccomend this, it will last for years( mine has so far, and I expect it will for many more) its also a lot more affordable than other premium parkas, but I think this one is actually warmer and more practical in many ways than its competitors.

First- I will say this coat is AWESOME! I wanted to finally invest in a hardy quality winter coat and this one fit the bill. This is the warmest and nicest coat I 've ever owned. I was tired of the trendy lightweight down coats that do n't actually keep you as warm as you 'd like. There is a kind of pleasure that comes from wearing and enjoying a finely crafted article of clothing and this jacket gives just that. It feels exceptionally cozy and of high quality. Second, I will say that this coat is BIG. I really do not understand Fjallraven's sizing recommendations. For reference, I am male, 6' and 160lbs with an athletic( I would like to say) build. I find it a little frustrating to read reviews and feedback about sizing but most people do not put their body size in the review for comparison. If I had followed Fjallraven's sizing guide, I should have ordered a medium. I was torn about which size to order and found it hard to gauge based on reviews, so I ordered a Small and Medium with the intent to return whichever one I did n't want. I will definitely be sticking with the small. The small itself almost feels a tad oversized but I think it will do okay. The medium just feels comically big on me. Even with wearing a shirt and lightweight sweater underneath, I am quite comfortable and still have full range of motion in the small. As far as warmth and comfort, this thing feels so comfortable. I am impressed with the amount of down and insulation in this thing. I live in the midwest USA and our winters get down to 18- 20F on an average cold winter day, usually with several days dipping into the single digits or lower. I walk my dog every morning and enjoy winter hiking and I feel confident and prepared for the coming winter now. So far we have not hit a very very cold day but I did try it out in a morning just above freezing. I wore only a T- shirt underneath while walking my dog and did not overheat in it as others stated- I felt quite comfortable. Part of me wonders if this means I would be a little cold in just the jacket on the really really cold days, but I think it is reasonable to still require a warm base layer or thin sweater underneath to stay warm enough. I feel confident this will be the case. The hood is impressive- big and warm and well insulated and fits snugly enough when pulled over your head and the fuzzy lining feels functional enough to keep out wind, not just a fashion statement. The drawstrings add a nice touch and work well, helping you to show off your lean figure still in a thick coat as you cinch it up around your waist. This helps trap warm air inside and I noticed it also takes a bit of the weight of the coat off your upper body and puts it onto your hips- kind of like the hip straps of a backpack. The zipper is not really as big of a problem as some have complained. It is a bit funny because it is on the opposite side as most zippers for men in the US. Maybe this is a Swedish thing? I 'm sure I will get used to it. Overall, I would say: Stylish, cozy, WARM, quality. It brings me joy and confidence knowing I am well prepared for the coming winter.

I bought one of these a few years ago in XL. I ’ m 6 ’ 4 and about 200 pounds with very long arms. It fits me perfectly. I have worn it at 0F with just a shirt on under it and I was plenty warm. It ’s made very well and I think the price is very reasonable for the quality. It never leaks any feathers and will last for years. I have the Greenland Winter coat too that I ’ ve had for about seven years and it ’s still in perfect condition. I ’ ve just come onto this website to buy another one of their coats and maybe an insulated pair of pants. Some people say the prices are high, but I strongly disagree. Very well made products that will last for many years.

This is a great jacket. It is easily packable/stowable. Great for travel. Super warm and great for any adventure. I unfortunately snagged it on my first trip with it so am dealing with having a patch kit that does n't really want to stay patched. But that's my problem, not the jacket's! After getting through a NYC December/January where conditions ranged from 40F with heavy rain to nearly 10F with strong wind and snow, I can officially say I love this jacket. It ’s very stylish and the warm adjustable hood is a highlight. I prefer the flexibility of having a versatile “ lighter ” jacket that can get through three seasons but this jacket isn ’ t super light. When it got down into the 20s, I just layered with a light insulated vest and the jacket remained effective. I don ’ t understand some of the complaints in other reviews… two- way zippers are always a little more difficult to zip up but with the longer length of the jacket, it ’s well worth it. And no, my arms didn ’ t get cold in the jacket either.

This jacket is super high quality and is warm, waterproof and windproof. I ’ m 5 ’ 11 ”, 190lbs, athletic build. The Men ’s size medium fits perfect, with room for layers without being too small or too big. It is long below the waist so there is a double zipper to allow you to manuever into your car or a chair without pulling the jacket up to your waist. I removed the faux fur from my hood, it comes off easily with buttons. The fur just wasn ’ t my style. A few people complained about the double zipper, which is plastic( not metal), and is a YKK branded zipper. I ’ ve had no issues with the double zipper. Someone complained about the arm length. There are velcro cuffs so you can control how low you want the cuffs to go. No issues for me there. Bonus: there are two zippered hidden pockets, one on the inside of the main vertical zipper and one on the outside of the zipper. This outside pocket allows you to access items without unzipping the coat. Another bonus: there are two large pockets on the inside of the coat large enough to store ski googles. I happily store my winter scarf in there for when the temperature drops down and the wind picks up. Chest- level hand warmer pockets are comfortable and fantastic for walking or standing in the cold. I wore this coat for a trip in Seattle during the cold and rainy October season and it kept the wind and rain at bay, no wind or water got through. I ’ ve wearing this coat here in Orlando, FL for the cold winter months and have stayed quite warm and cozy! Keep in mind, this is the “ Nuuk Lite Insulated ” version so it ’s perfect for Seattle or Orlando. Fjallraven makes a warmer version called “ Nuuk Insulated ” which is probably more suited to arctic places like snowy parts of Canada or New England. I highly recommend!
