This jacket served me well for 10 years of steady use every winter/fall and I finally replaced it. The quality is superb, the new Pertex Shield on the shoulders/arms gives it a much more durable feel. It has a premium feel in the hand and is a nice blend of weight/durability. Fits great with layers underneath, but also works well as a mid- layer under a shell. I 'm a fan of the new color options too. In summary, this is a durable, lightweight, packable and versatile jacket that does its job in the back- country but transitions seamlessly to the front- country. Highly recommended.

I like the cut of OR jackets. I am 6 ’ 1 ” 235. The Helium Down does not disappoint regarding warmth. It has that soft down feeling with added structural integrity where one might carry a pack. The gusseting in the arm allow for a full range of motion without much rise. I have long arms and can still draw out without the jacket tightening too much in the back. If for some reason I found myself in dire need of more warmth I could wear it underneath a jacket or shell because it could compress enough to almost be a base layer and not sacrifice its loft. At which point I am certain to roast.

Love that this uses a fairly high fill power down( 800+), making it warm and space/weight efficient. I have higher fill power items like MH ghost whisperer UL( 1000 FP), but most UL garments use fragile fabrics and do n't have any weather protection, so they 're really limited to cold, dry weather. The Helium Down Jacket has weather resistance in key areas due to the Pertex Diamond Fuse panels, which makes it more versatile. It wo n't be a great outer layer if you 're expecting heavy rain, but I wear it by itself in a light mist or under a shell if heavy rain is expected. The Pertex panels are a little crinkly, but not as loud as some reviews suggest. I found the sizing to be accurate. This is quickly becoming a staple of my wardrobe from fall through spring. [ I bought this as a gift for my husband for an upcoming trip. He is 6' and around 190 lbs, and I got him the XL. The sleeves are a bit long but they do have velcro to adjust and tighten them around the wrist. It's roomy but great for layering, though I think if he were ever to pull out the inner layer of the thin down shell, the outer jacket would be huge on him. The length is great for his longer torso, it covers his butt well. He had requested no hood and this one is detachable( not easy to find a decent ski jacket without a hood!) so another win!

I ’ ve owned 2 other puffers( Patagonia and Rab). The Helium combined my favorite aspects of both jackets into one and improved on some other aspects. Only thing I can ’ t attest to is the jackets durability. I ’ ve had my Patagonia puffer for nearly 10 years, hoping this one lasts that or more! Pros:- lightweight but very warm( tested in the 20 ’s and 30F so far, expecting to see how it fairs in the negatives soon)- hand pockets are lined and warm- hood is a must have for long bouts in cold weather IMO- phone pocket on the chest fits a new pro max IPhone with a case on it- large internal open pockets, probably won ’ t use much but nice additional feature- the hood and shoulders have a water repellant material Con: My only negative is the sizing, I ’ m 6 ’ 200lbs and usually wear an XL for jackets. A large would have fit more athletically with room for another layer underneath. I live in a place it can get to- 50 or colder so having space to layer is wicked helpful, but an XL is a tough too big.

These bibs were fantastic for my snowboarding trip in Breckenridge. These bibs were extra flexible and did n't make me feel as constrained as other bibs have. They fit well and were very comfortable for riding from first chair to last. We ended up having a pretty wide range of temperatures from 40 to- 10. The vents did a great job of keeping me cool on the warmer days, and I only had to add a single layer of thermal underwear( top and bottom) to be comfortable on the- 10 days!

So far, so good! Living right outside the Middlesex Fells, the weather can be incredibly variable year round, and this jacket handles the rain and wind well. I 've found this jacket has managed to keep me warm when it's cold out, but also not overheat me in the event the sun is out because of how light the jacket is. Keeps me warm in the 30s easily with just a normal shirt and a sweater. With real layers I have been able to walk approx 30 minutes round trip in the low 20s and strong winds. It ’s very warm and also gives you that psychological warmth boost of a fat, cozy puffer. The length is just right if you need a big outermost layer but don ’ t want a full parka length. I am normally between S and M for most things and a S easily fits me even with a chunky sweater. The two internal mesh pockets are clutch.

Love the zip out silk liner as a stand alone lite duty jacket, a nd the shell works excellent as a rain cover. This is a great system for a beginner or an expert in the field or out on the town. I 've had my RG foray for a little over 3 years and it's been pretty good to me. I 've mostly worn the puffer by itself in cool weather. There's little wind resistance to it, so be warned. Otherwise it's a good standalone layer on even the coldest days for short exposure times. I 've had to wear the jacket on several rainy days, and the full system during an Easter trip to the UK in' 23. Scotland, Wales, and northern England are n't known for great weather in March and this trip was no exception. We endured near constant wind and periodic rain& sleet. When we went to London it rained for several hours one day and we were in it at its hardest. The fabric shed water well without getting soaked, as I 'd expect from OR. All in all, it's a good buy.

LOVE this jacket! I 'm 6'2 and bought XL for extra movement and layering when snowboarding. Pros: The synthetic fill is the best I 've ever felt, I honestly thought it was down fill. I love that it stays warm and holds its lofty puffiness when in wet snow conditions. My other Sitka down jacket loses its loft quickly in the arms and back when I start perspiring from a morning of hiking or snowboarding. But's it's so soft a cozy. I often just wear a t- shirt or thin base layer under it if I 'm just staring around a camp fire. It's very warm and the hand and chin backings are super soft. Cons: My only complaint is that it does n't have a well placed hood draw string for windy conditions. The single draw string on the hood is more a retention string for side to side movement of your head. And the outer fabric is very delicate, I know its gon na snag and tear on a tree branch one of these days.... I personally wish it was a little bit thicker like on my wife's Expedition down jacket.

I have 5 days of skiing on the jacket in weather from sunny/warm to heavy snow. The fabric breathability is perfect for sidecountry/in- bounds skiing, but a touch heavy if you 're looking for a backcountry jacket. Great windproofing while still breathing. I am 5'11, 165lbs, with broad shoulders. I bought the medium and it can be worn with a puffy underneath comfortably. Not baggy, but still free range of movement. A touch more room on the shoulders would have suited me a bit better. There are a ton of useful pockets, no shortage. Zippers are easy to access, pit zips are a bit cumbersome however. Velcro on the cuffs is easy to adjust with different gloves.

Bought this recently, a week old review. Shipping was quick and efficient. With regards to the jacket, it keeps you warm and cosy even when there is a gust. Looks a bit handful but performs like a workhorse. The pockets are deep and well- thought positions. The hand pockets with warm liners are cosy when you forgot your gloves. The Hood is padded and adjustable so this eliminates the need for a beanie until unless is heavy gust or snow. There is enough space for both beanie and glove in case you choose to wear them with you along with the jacket. The secret pocket inside the chest is a good place for either mobile, cards, car keys or something valuable. A small elastic compartment in the outer chest pocket is for something like a go- to bag to keep keys secure and have quick access to. Overall build quality is excellent. Being used other fjallraven products longevity of their products is unparalleled. The arm length is a bit larger for me, Please take a measurement of yourself with all the inner layers( i. e- day to day clothing which you might be wearing inside the coat).

I was looking for a very warm, every day jacket. I usually buy ski gear type stuff.... something that you need to layer up and stay active to keep warm in. I was finally ready to buy a jacket that I could stay warm in when I was just standing around. After reading some of the reviews I was afraid that this was not the jacket I was looking for. I expected it not to be warm enough. I was wrong. This jacket is super warm. In 23° F with the wind and snow blowing, it's toasty warm with just a t shirt and flannel underneath. The design is awesome too. The hood is nice, there are pockets everywhere, it fits great, not too baggy, not too tight and it feels super durable while looking good for pretty much any occasion. I also tried a Singi wool padded parka thinking the Skogso would n't be warm enough. The Singi is amazingly warm but is overkill for daily wear where I live( our cold days are usually 0° to 25+° F). The Singi would be great for standing around in sub 0°F weather but is too bulky to wear every day for me.

I use this jacket as my daily driver for Ohio winters, where temperatures can sit right around the freezing point or drop into deep freeze throughout a single day. So far it has performed admirably in rain, snow, sleet, and whatever else it might chuck down at us poor midwesterners. I 'd advise picking up some Greenland wax and applying a couple coats at the beginning of winter, it improves an already good wind resistance and makes the G- 1000 practically waterproof. I 've been very impressed and plan to keep the jacket for a very long time. I use the jacket daily for walking the dog in any and all weather, and would n't hesitate to take it snowboarding, winter trekking, or commuting by bike. I did have one issue where the hem cinch stop popped off leaving the flex cord dangling out of the bottom of the jacket, but found it easy to repair since the cord is routed into the inner pockets. I just cut the frayed end and put the stop back on. Looks like it came brand new.

We started it on the high setting until it got warm then we were able to lower the temperature using the battery to maintain and comfort level without getting too hot of too cold. Great product! It feels like a jacket that sits somewhere between an everyday jacket and a more technical outdoor layer. I would probably consider it more of an everyday or casual jacket, but the fit and low profile make it useful for short hikes and as a layer under a shell for colder activities. I really like that it is n't overly puffy. It provides enough warmth for cooler weather but still leaves room to layer underneath or over it. I 've found it comfortable to wear for long periods and easy to move around in. The overall style is simple enough that I would have no problem wearing it around town, but it still works well for outdoor use. The DWR finish is nice for light moisture, especially when wearing it as an outer layer. I also like the feel of the outer fabric and stitching. They seem more durable than some of the lightweight materials I 've used on other insulated jackets. I 've had other puffy jackets get small rips or punctures pretty easily, so I would have less concern about stuffing the Nuketo into a backpack on an overnight trip and having it catch on a zipper or something sharp. I have n't had the jacket long enough to comment on long term durability or how it will perform through multiple seasons, but I can see myself using it regularly through the fall and winter. For me, the biggest benefit is the versatility. It's comfortable enough for everyday wear, but still practical for hiking and mountain trips, especially when I want one jacket that can serve several purposes.

[ I recently received my new Nuketo jacket and took it to rappel a waterfall nearby to keep me dry( er) and warm. The jacket repelled the water from the waterfall while I was rappelling down, keeping my upper body nice and dry and warm. I wish there was a little bit of flex or stretch built into the jacket – It would make it even better for outdoor activities that require big movements like rock climbing or canyoneering. It does have slightly looser fit though, which helps. The cuffs around the wrist are a bit large, which makes it easier to wear layers underneath, or if you have thick forearms and wrists( which I don ’ t have). This jacket provides a medium amount of warmth, and the fit allows you to wear layers underneath if you need additional warmth. It packs down decently for not having down insulation inside. I think it's a great jacket for cooler spring/fall days and colder weather up in the mountains. On really cold days, this jacket can be a mid layer while wearing a base layer and a more weatherproof shell. I ’ m excited to wear it this fall and winter as I go through canyons and hike in the mountains. As a side note, sometimes I wear this jacket at my desk at work-- the AC in the building is sometimes functions too well and I get cold. This jacket helps me not get too cold while at my desk. If I were to make 3 changes to the design it would be tighter cuffs, a way to cinch the waist, and add some type of stretch fabric where you move the most, but that said – I still really like the jacket as it is now. [ The North Face Nuketo synthetic insulated jacket is a great jacket for cool mornings! Lightweight and really keeps the wind out! I wore the jacket in about 60- 65 degree weather and a light breeze and you could n't feel the cool breeze! It helps warm your core up by keeping your body heat in the jacket! The jacket is asthetically pleasing, not bulky so your movement can be natural. The sizing was good I 'm 5'9, average build and I wore a large and had just the right amount of coverage for my arms, sleeves were n't short when moving my arms! There was enough room under the jacket that if I wanted to I could wear a hoodie underneath it. I 'd recommend this jacket as a everyday jacket for the Fall or Spring temperatures, wearing it to go to work or run errands. I 'd even recommend this jacket to people going camping or recreating outdoors in cooler high elevation areas during the summer, like the mountains here in Colorado, where temperatures are upper 40s low 50s but then warm up during the day. This is a great jacket to wear if you need to stop the wind and just keep your core warm but you do n't need a huge jacket! I have not wore it in rain yet but I think it 'd be ok for light sprinkle rain, not downpour rain! Bought this for my fiancé for valentines day he loves it. I orginally did by him his normal size which is a medium but it was big on him so we had to return it and get a size small. So I would recommend getting a size smaller!

This is my third or fourth North Face jacket. This one is ultra warm with a nice classic outer look to it. Jacket has a soft feel with out being too noisy/swishy. Great warm jacket for the midwest winters

I love my Fjallraven Singi Down Jacket! I purchased this jacket in dark navy two years ago and to this day, it is my go- to jacket for really cold weather. I live in the north east of the U. S. so the temps can drop to sub- 20 degrees( Fahrenheit), but this jacket and it ’s ethically sourced down does an excellent job at keeping the warmth trapped inside. I must say that it ’s roomy enough to layer up underneath and I actually had to size down to a small, when I normally take medium in everything I purchase. For reference, I am 5 ’- 9 ”, 160 lbs, lean, athletic build. So keep in mind that sizing down may be necessary depending on your height and weight.

Highly recommend this jacket! I bought it for a winter trip to the Swedish Lapland( Abisko and Kiruna). It got down to 0F or so(- 17C). This jacket is an absolute beast! Couple the jacket with the Fjallraven thin wool top and a light sweater and you 'll be super warm. The tour guides all offered winter clothes to borrow and they had this same jacket! The pockets are plentiful and excellent. Big outside pockets for your hat and gloves and small zippered pockets for your phone/wallet. The fit is also top notch. Zipped up it looks great and I received many compliments from total strangers. I have the navy. I 'll still give it five stars, but the zipper is 0/10. It's on the `` wrong ''( left) side for a men's jacket and assuming you are right- handed, it is extremely difficult to get started. You 'll definitely need to have both gloves off and even then, it is very tough. One other thing to keep in mind: this is an extremely warm jacket. In 35F weather, you 'll be roasting to death in just a t- shirt, even unzipped. This jacket is really designed for days when it's 25F or colder.

I think I can best summarize my opinion of this coat in that it makes me want to go outside in blizzards. This thing is sooo warm and well designed for practical use; I spend a huge amount of time standing outside for hours in the winter and this is the perfect tool for the job. Not only is it warm, but its also very durable. The external fabric is tough! I have no concerns about it every ripping which is a huge peace of mind, I think the thick fabric also helps protect from wind which is really nice when its blustery. The pockets are very generous and perfect for stashing gloves or other moderate sizes items if needed. I find myself rarely needing the hood but when I do its oversized and very helpful in protecting against flakes or wind. The only thing that I dont absolutely love about this thing is the zipper for some reason its a bit hard to line up, and there is a bit of a learning curve, its funny, every winter it takes me a couple tries when first using the coat to get the feel for it, but after that I have no issus; on the other hand, the zipper is very durable so its not like I 'm concerned about it failing, more that it just takes a bit of a specific' touch' to get it to line up. Overall I would highly reccomend this, it will last for years( mine has so far, and I expect it will for many more) its also a lot more affordable than other premium parkas, but I think this one is actually warmer and more practical in many ways than its competitors.

First- I will say this coat is AWESOME! I wanted to finally invest in a hardy quality winter coat and this one fit the bill. This is the warmest and nicest coat I 've ever owned. I was tired of the trendy lightweight down coats that do n't actually keep you as warm as you 'd like. There is a kind of pleasure that comes from wearing and enjoying a finely crafted article of clothing and this jacket gives just that. It feels exceptionally cozy and of high quality. Second, I will say that this coat is BIG. I really do not understand Fjallraven's sizing recommendations. For reference, I am male, 6' and 160lbs with an athletic( I would like to say) build. I find it a little frustrating to read reviews and feedback about sizing but most people do not put their body size in the review for comparison. If I had followed Fjallraven's sizing guide, I should have ordered a medium. I was torn about which size to order and found it hard to gauge based on reviews, so I ordered a Small and Medium with the intent to return whichever one I did n't want. I will definitely be sticking with the small. The small itself almost feels a tad oversized but I think it will do okay. The medium just feels comically big on me. Even with wearing a shirt and lightweight sweater underneath, I am quite comfortable and still have full range of motion in the small. As far as warmth and comfort, this thing feels so comfortable. I am impressed with the amount of down and insulation in this thing. I live in the midwest USA and our winters get down to 18- 20F on an average cold winter day, usually with several days dipping into the single digits or lower. I walk my dog every morning and enjoy winter hiking and I feel confident and prepared for the coming winter now. So far we have not hit a very very cold day but I did try it out in a morning just above freezing. I wore only a T- shirt underneath while walking my dog and did not overheat in it as others stated- I felt quite comfortable. Part of me wonders if this means I would be a little cold in just the jacket on the really really cold days, but I think it is reasonable to still require a warm base layer or thin sweater underneath to stay warm enough. I feel confident this will be the case. The hood is impressive- big and warm and well insulated and fits snugly enough when pulled over your head and the fuzzy lining feels functional enough to keep out wind, not just a fashion statement. The drawstrings add a nice touch and work well, helping you to show off your lean figure still in a thick coat as you cinch it up around your waist. This helps trap warm air inside and I noticed it also takes a bit of the weight of the coat off your upper body and puts it onto your hips- kind of like the hip straps of a backpack. The zipper is not really as big of a problem as some have complained. It is a bit funny because it is on the opposite side as most zippers for men in the US. Maybe this is a Swedish thing? I 'm sure I will get used to it. Overall, I would say: Stylish, cozy, WARM, quality. It brings me joy and confidence knowing I am well prepared for the coming winter.

I bought one of these a few years ago in XL. I ’ m 6 ’ 4 and about 200 pounds with very long arms. It fits me perfectly. I have worn it at 0F with just a shirt on under it and I was plenty warm. It ’s made very well and I think the price is very reasonable for the quality. It never leaks any feathers and will last for years. I have the Greenland Winter coat too that I ’ ve had for about seven years and it ’s still in perfect condition. I ’ ve just come onto this website to buy another one of their coats and maybe an insulated pair of pants. Some people say the prices are high, but I strongly disagree. Very well made products that will last for many years.
