The olnly part I didn ’ t like was that the jacket when it was shipped to me was it wasn ’ t packed in a separate bag other then the shipping bag they stuffed it in. I love my Fjallraven Singi Down Jacket! I purchased this jacket in dark navy two years ago and to this day, it is my go- to jacket for really cold weather. I live in the north east of the U. S. so the temps can drop to sub- 20 degrees( Fahrenheit), but this jacket and it ’s ethically sourced down does an excellent job at keeping the warmth trapped inside. I must say that it ’s roomy enough to layer up underneath and I actually had to size down to a small, when I normally take medium in everything I purchase. For reference, I am 5 ’- 9 ”, 160 lbs, lean, athletic build. So keep in mind that sizing down may be necessary depending on your height and weight.

Highly recommend this jacket! I bought it for a winter trip to the Swedish Lapland( Abisko and Kiruna). It got down to 0F or so(- 17C). This jacket is an absolute beast! Couple the jacket with the Fjallraven thin wool top and a light sweater and you 'll be super warm. The tour guides all offered winter clothes to borrow and they had this same jacket! The pockets are plentiful and excellent. Big outside pockets for your hat and gloves and small zippered pockets for your phone/wallet. The fit is also top notch. Zipped up it looks great and I received many compliments from total strangers. I have the navy. I 'll still give it five stars, but the zipper is 0/10. It's on the `` wrong ''( left) side for a men's jacket and assuming you are right- handed, it is extremely difficult to get started. You 'll definitely need to have both gloves off and even then, it is very tough. One other thing to keep in mind: this is an extremely warm jacket. In 35F weather, you 'll be roasting to death in just a t- shirt, even unzipped. This jacket is really designed for days when it's 25F or colder.

I think I can best summarize my opinion of this coat in that it makes me want to go outside in blizzards. This thing is sooo warm and well designed for practical use; I spend a huge amount of time standing outside for hours in the winter and this is the perfect tool for the job. Not only is it warm, but its also very durable. The external fabric is tough! I have no concerns about it every ripping which is a huge peace of mind, I think the thick fabric also helps protect from wind which is really nice when its blustery. The pockets are very generous and perfect for stashing gloves or other moderate sizes items if needed. I find myself rarely needing the hood but when I do its oversized and very helpful in protecting against flakes or wind. The only thing that I dont absolutely love about this thing is the zipper for some reason its a bit hard to line up, and there is a bit of a learning curve, its funny, every winter it takes me a couple tries when first using the coat to get the feel for it, but after that I have no issus; on the other hand, the zipper is very durable so its not like I 'm concerned about it failing, more that it just takes a bit of a specific' touch' to get it to line up. Overall I would highly reccomend this, it will last for years( mine has so far, and I expect it will for many more) its also a lot more affordable than other premium parkas, but I think this one is actually warmer and more practical in many ways than its competitors.

First- I will say this coat is AWESOME! I wanted to finally invest in a hardy quality winter coat and this one fit the bill. This is the warmest and nicest coat I 've ever owned. I was tired of the trendy lightweight down coats that do n't actually keep you as warm as you 'd like. There is a kind of pleasure that comes from wearing and enjoying a finely crafted article of clothing and this jacket gives just that. It feels exceptionally cozy and of high quality. Second, I will say that this coat is BIG. I really do not understand Fjallraven's sizing recommendations. For reference, I am male, 6' and 160lbs with an athletic( I would like to say) build. I find it a little frustrating to read reviews and feedback about sizing but most people do not put their body size in the review for comparison. If I had followed Fjallraven's sizing guide, I should have ordered a medium. I was torn about which size to order and found it hard to gauge based on reviews, so I ordered a Small and Medium with the intent to return whichever one I did n't want. I will definitely be sticking with the small. The small itself almost feels a tad oversized but I think it will do okay. The medium just feels comically big on me. Even with wearing a shirt and lightweight sweater underneath, I am quite comfortable and still have full range of motion in the small. As far as warmth and comfort, this thing feels so comfortable. I am impressed with the amount of down and insulation in this thing. I live in the midwest USA and our winters get down to 18- 20F on an average cold winter day, usually with several days dipping into the single digits or lower. I walk my dog every morning and enjoy winter hiking and I feel confident and prepared for the coming winter now. So far we have not hit a very very cold day but I did try it out in a morning just above freezing. I wore only a T- shirt underneath while walking my dog and did not overheat in it as others stated- I felt quite comfortable. Part of me wonders if this means I would be a little cold in just the jacket on the really really cold days, but I think it is reasonable to still require a warm base layer or thin sweater underneath to stay warm enough. I feel confident this will be the case. The hood is impressive- big and warm and well insulated and fits snugly enough when pulled over your head and the fuzzy lining feels functional enough to keep out wind, not just a fashion statement. The drawstrings add a nice touch and work well, helping you to show off your lean figure still in a thick coat as you cinch it up around your waist. This helps trap warm air inside and I noticed it also takes a bit of the weight of the coat off your upper body and puts it onto your hips- kind of like the hip straps of a backpack. The zipper is not really as big of a problem as some have complained. It is a bit funny because it is on the opposite side as most zippers for men in the US. Maybe this is a Swedish thing? I 'm sure I will get used to it. Overall, I would say: Stylish, cozy, WARM, quality. It brings me joy and confidence knowing I am well prepared for the coming winter.

I bought one of these a few years ago in XL. I ’ m 6 ’ 4 and about 200 pounds with very long arms. It fits me perfectly. I have worn it at 0F with just a shirt on under it and I was plenty warm. It ’s made very well and I think the price is very reasonable for the quality. It never leaks any feathers and will last for years. I have the Greenland Winter coat too that I ’ ve had for about seven years and it ’s still in perfect condition. I ’ ve just come onto this website to buy another one of their coats and maybe an insulated pair of pants. Some people say the prices are high, but I strongly disagree. Very well made products that will last for many years.

[ Excellent insulated jacket, been waiting for Carhartt to make something like this for years. Warm, light, flexible, and not too bulky. Similar to synthetic insulated hoody's you find from outdoor companies like Patagonia, Arc'teryx, etc... but with a slightly thicker outer layer and more reasonable price tag. can be used as a mid or outer layer. It wo n't be the most durable outer layer, but durable outer layers or heavy and restricting, this is not.

I absolutely love my new jacket. It's lightweight yet warm and comfortable and has lots of pockets. This particular style with the Carhartt logo is the one I really like. I 'm 5'5 '' 135 lbs and I ordered a men's small because this particular jacket does n't come in women's. I 've washed it once and came out very nice. I 'll be enjoying this jacket for years to come. Bought this recently, a week old review. Shipping was quick and efficient. With regards to the jacket, it keeps you warm and cosy even when there is a gust. Looks a bit handful but performs like a workhorse. The pockets are deep and well- thought positions. The hand pockets with warm liners are cosy when you forgot your gloves. The Hood is padded and adjustable so this eliminates the need for a beanie until unless is heavy gust or snow. There is enough space for both beanie and glove in case you choose to wear them with you along with the jacket. The secret pocket inside the chest is a good place for either mobile, cards, car keys or something valuable. A small elastic compartment in the outer chest pocket is for something like a go- to bag to keep keys secure and have quick access to. Overall build quality is excellent. Being used other fjallraven products longevity of their products is unparalleled. The arm length is a bit larger for me, Please take a measurement of yourself with all the inner layers( i. e- day to day clothing which you might be wearing inside the coat).

I am 6'1 '' and weigh 200lbs and the large fits perfect.

Just picked one up, feels like it's gon na fill a gap in cold weather gear for future adventures. 5'2 '' 115lb XS fits me surprisingly well!

I was looking for a very warm, every day jacket. I usually buy ski gear type stuff.... something that you need to layer up and stay active to keep warm in. I was finally ready to buy a jacket that I could stay warm in when I was just standing around. After reading some of the reviews I was afraid that this was not the jacket I was looking for. I expected it not to be warm enough. I was wrong. This jacket is super warm. In 23° F with the wind and snow blowing, it's toasty warm with just a t shirt and flannel underneath. The design is awesome too. The hood is nice, there are pockets everywhere, it fits great, not too baggy, not too tight and it feels super durable while looking good for pretty much any occasion. I also tried a Singi wool padded parka thinking the Skogso would n't be warm enough. The Singi is amazingly warm but is overkill for daily wear where I live( our cold days are usually 0° to 25+° F). The Singi would be great for standing around in sub 0°F weather but is too bulky to wear every day for me.

I use this jacket as my daily driver for Ohio winters, where temperatures can sit right around the freezing point or drop into deep freeze throughout a single day. So far it has performed admirably in rain, snow, sleet, and whatever else it might chuck down at us poor midwesterners. I 'd advise picking up some Greenland wax and applying a couple coats at the beginning of winter, it improves an already good wind resistance and makes the G- 1000 practically waterproof. I 've been very impressed and plan to keep the jacket for a very long time. I use the jacket daily for walking the dog in any and all weather, and would n't hesitate to take it snowboarding, winter trekking, or commuting by bike. I did have one issue where the hem cinch stop popped off leaving the flex cord dangling out of the bottom of the jacket, but found it easy to repair since the cord is routed into the inner pockets. I just cut the frayed end and put the stop back on. Looks like it came brand new.

[ This is a great hunting jacket. I wanted an tough outside lawyer to withstand the thicket, block wind and rain, and allow me to wear layers. This is perfect for that purpose. Also, I 've read a few reviews about how some do not like how the zipper goes up too high, but that really is n't a problem. In fact, I 'm heavy wind or extremely cold weather, I see it as a plus because you can close up more, but if it is uncomfortable just do n't zip all the way way up( common sense).

[ Have been on a hunt for a new shirt jack, and this is the one I liked best out the 4 I tried. Very well built, lightweight and wind breaking. The poly insulation is just thick enough without being bulky, and plenty warm. I run hot, so this is great for me. I live in a wet climate, so water resistance is important. When I received this, the first test was to run water over my sleeve in the sink. The water ran right off. Recently had a scrap with a rose branch and the tough shoulder material was unaffected. It's a nicely styled jacket. I purchased the grey one with the branding blacked out- very cool. Would recommend!

I work in the mining industry and everything I wear to work is subject to a lot of abuse. Great jacket, very warm and comfortable. I was worried about the fit because I was unsure what size I should get. I 'm very picky about how things fit me and Carhartt can be tricky sometimes. I am a 5'11 '' 235 male and I ordered an XL. This jacket is great, however, it does run slightly small, especially if you plan to layer underneath, it's still a phenomenal piece for its intended use — a great mid- layer or emergency stash jacket. The jacket is great when it comes to packability: it compresses neatly into its own chest pocket for storage, and I was genuinely impressed that it shows virtually no wrinkles when taken back out. I have n't bought a new puffy in a few years but the feel and softness of this jacket incredibly soft

[ I was hesitant because I 'm a Patagonia guy but I really liked this color and own other Fjallraven stuff so I gave it a try. Zipper is not an issue, great casual jacket, can wear it over button ups or casual.

[ I ’ ve been wearing this jacket for the first time during my Leave No Trace trainer course this weekend. Not only is it stylish, but it ’s warm and comfortable as well. It packs small and is lightweight for backpacking but still lofty enough to keep you warm during those cool mornings and evenings. It ’s also just perfect to keep you at a comfortable temperature during the day wether in a classroom setting or outside doing outdoors stuff. This jacket is the best available and will make you the best looking person in your own eyes, it ’s a win/win!

[ Amazing high- quality versatile jacket which I bought in the Fall, layered through winter and am continuing to enjoy into Spring. It is very light weight and not the least bit bulky, but regulates temperature very well. It takes up very little space for backpacking and travel. I like it so much I gifted one for a friend( who loves it too), and will buy another in a different color this Fall. A true Fjallraven classic.

Stylish, comfortable, and functional. The design is sleek and minimalistic but the pockets and collar add a nice subtle contrast. The fit is what you look for out of a jacket, spacious to allow for layering without feeling too baggy. The liner provides warmth for the early winter days.

This is one of the most comfortable and best fitting jackets that I have ever owned. The canvas material is soft yet durable. The inner lining is comfortable and keeps me warm. The arms and length are just about a perfect fit for my size. I ’ m 6 foot 185lbs and large is great.

I live in Southern California, but travel all over the US for work so I needed a jacket that would look just as good at a bar on a Friday night with an all black outfit, as well as a functional jacket to layer when I am in colder climates. I was fortunate to grab this jacket just in time for some colder weather in California, and have loved having this in my rotation! It is vary, surprising light for the material, and feels well built. Some of my favorite features: 1. No large or obvious logos like other companies 2. Well made materials 3. has the feel of a heavy jacket in terms of comfort and warmth, but feels much lighter Some areas for improvement: 1. I got a size large and it felt like an XL, so runs just a tad big 2. Would have like a fur like collar, instead of the corduroy 3. Pockets are a bit small but do the job well. An interior pocket would also be nice. I have truly enjoyed this jacket and would highly recommend it

It's roomy for layering with a sweater, and the sleeves were about 1. 5 '' too long, but I 'm a year in and this jacket is perfect for fall, had a sturdy zipper and pockets, and? a great hidden zippered pocket at the chest perfect for car keys on a walk.

I love the longer sleeves. I 'm 6'1 '' and appreciate the longer length of the Large Tall size. If the sleeves are too long for you, maybe roll them up or add another closure to the wrist snap so you can button it tighter. Do n't take away a great feature from those of us that need it. I do agree, however, that the zipper could be higher quality.

It's perfect for those with an outside job, like to ski or do other winter sports, and just a nice all around jacket. ... the best ... It works great even when not powered, but that extra heat means I do n't need to have another jacket for when it...

This jacket was purchased as a gift. It's perfect for those with an outside job, like to ski or do other winter sports, and just a nice all around jacket. The warming element is amazing! My only issue as sizing. Seems to run a size larger. I purchased a Medium which is the true size for my nephew, and it overwhelmed him. I 'm exchanging for a Small. BTW, my husband has had his jacket for many years and absolutely loves it!

Well made, competitive price compared to other top brands. The jacket heats up quickly and controls are easy use. I really enjoy this item and wear it so I can work outside in cold weather and be comfortable.

Nice quality and true size. Love the length and that the zipper, unzippers around the hips and does n't ride up when riding. I Have only used 1 time so far, weather is finally getting warmer!!. A cool morning in the 30's and traveling the turnpike, had the heat on low with a long sleeve t- shirt and another light weight jacket over top. Stayed nice and warm traveling at highway speed.

Ive bought a lot of jackets from the top brands over the years, but nothing matches Fjallraven for build quality and timelessness. After buying this I sold all my Rab, Montane, North Face etc jackets- this is better all round, warmer in the cold( totally wind resistant), more resistant to water, more breathable, tougher, it looks fantastic( always getting asked about it) and will probably last 20 years. It fits perfectly- though go a size down. Pockets are excellent esp the inside pocket, insulated hood works beautifully and still has room for a beanie if its really cold- only thing to note is there is no drawstring waist- presumably because of the down- but it doesnt impact anything. After buying this i bought the insulated Kiruna... hardest decision of the day is which one to put on...

I am a very warm person in general, so I was actually a bit hesitant when reviews claimed the coat to be extremely warm. I took the plunge and am extremely happy so far with the purchase, The down filling almost self adjusts and keeps you at just the right temperature, but not too hot! The fit is great, contouring perfect to the body, Im 5'7 '' and have an athletic figure. Besides the fit and finish the coat just looks good, and feels of very high quality. Looking forward to wearing this in the cold winter months in Michigan. Dont hesitate, Buy this coat!

I ordered both this jacket and the re- wool jacket. Both seem like nice, warm options for Wisconsin winters. I 'm 5'11 '' tall, 185 pounds. I 'm torso- tall, a bit of a rounded belly, with average shoulder width. This down jacket was ordered in size large, which is a bit too snug on me. The re- wool was purchased in size XL, which is perfect. Planning to return this down jacket and wait to see if the re- wool gets me through the winter. If I feel like I need a better water- resistant jacket, then I 'll consider buying this down coat in size XL. Again, seems like a great coat, solid quality, a nice hood, good sleeve length.

Like the product description says, it has a very classic aesthetic but it also offers a ton of warmth and great water resistance. For jackets I am typically right in between a Medium and Small, and the Small fits perfectly on this one.

This was my first down jacket from Fjällräven and it was fantastic with a sweater underneath it and kept you warm in 20°F weather's to 10°F weather's in New York City. I 've used it on a hike before when it was snowing outside and the weather was around 10°, it kept me warm throughout the whole hike and never made me sweat at all because of the great insulation and circulation of rounding out where the warmth would be needed for my body. Highly recommend anyone who has thought about getting this jacket to get it without any regrets at all! 5 star jacket and worth every penny!
When selecting a men's winter work jacket, consider features such as insulation for warmth, water resistance to protect against rain and snow, and durability to withstand tough working conditions. Look for jackets with adjustable cuffs and hems for a better fit, as well as pockets for convenient storage of tools and personal items. Additionally, breathable materials can enhance comfort during physical activity, while a hood can provide extra protection from the elements.
To determine the right size for a men's winter work jacket, start by measuring your chest, waist, and hips to find your body measurements. Compare these measurements to the sizing chart provided by the manufacturer, as sizes can vary between brands. Consider the type of layering you plan to wear underneath the jacket, as this may influence the size you choose. Additionally, pay attention to the jacket's fit style, such as regular or relaxed, to ensure comfort and mobility during work activities.
Men's winter work jackets are typically made from materials that provide both warmth and durability. Common materials include insulated fabrics, such as polyester or down, which trap heat while remaining lightweight. Additionally, many jackets feature outer layers made from durable cotton or synthetic blends that resist wear and tear, as well as water-resistant coatings to protect against the elements. These combinations ensure that the jackets are suitable for tough working conditions while keeping the wearer warm.
Yes, there are specific styles of men's winter work jackets that are well-suited for outdoor work. Insulated jackets provide warmth while also offering features like water resistance to protect against the elements. Additionally, jackets made from durable materials, such as canvas or denim, can withstand the rigors of outdoor tasks. Look for options with functional elements like adjustable hoods, multiple pockets, and reinforced seams for added practicality.
Insulation types in men's winter work jackets can vary significantly, affecting warmth, weight, and breathability. Synthetic insulation is often lightweight and water-resistant, making it suitable for wet conditions, while down insulation provides excellent warmth-to-weight ratio but may lose its insulating properties when wet. Some jackets feature a combination of both types to balance warmth and moisture management. Additionally, the thickness and distribution of insulation can influence how well a jacket retains heat during outdoor work activities.
A men's winter work jacket is designed to provide warmth and protection during outdoor work in cold weather. These jackets are ideal for construction, landscaping, and other outdoor jobs where staying warm is essential. They often feature insulation and weather-resistant materials to shield against wind, rain, and snow, making them suitable for various work environments. Additionally, many styles include functional elements like pockets and adjustable features to enhance usability on the job.
When choosing a men's winter work jacket, consider the materials used for insulation and weather resistance, as these will impact both comfort and functionality. Look for features such as adjustable cuffs, hoods, and multiple pockets to enhance usability during work tasks. Additionally, pay attention to the fit; a jacket that allows for layering underneath can provide extra warmth without sacrificing mobility. Finally, consider the specific conditions you'll be working in, as this will help you select a jacket that meets your needs for durability and protection against the elements.
When considering the weight of a men's winter work jacket, think about the balance between warmth and mobility. Heavier jackets often provide more insulation and protection against harsh weather, while lighter options may offer greater flexibility and comfort during physical activities. Additionally, consider the layering potential; a jacket that is too heavy may restrict movement when worn over other clothing. Ultimately, the right weight will depend on your specific work environment and personal preferences.
To maintain a men's winter work jacket, it is important to follow the care instructions provided by the manufacturer, which typically include washing in cold water and avoiding bleach. Many jackets benefit from being air-dried rather than using a dryer to prevent damage to insulation and fabric. Additionally, regular cleaning can help preserve the jacket's water-resistant properties, so consider using a suitable detergent designed for technical fabrics. Always check for specific care recommendations based on the materials used in the jacket.
Insulated men's winter work jackets are designed to provide warmth in cold conditions, featuring materials like synthetic insulation or down that trap heat. These jackets are ideal for outdoor work in frigid temperatures, as they help maintain body heat. Non-insulated jackets, on the other hand, are typically made from durable materials that offer protection against wind and water but do not provide additional warmth. They are suitable for milder winter conditions or for layering over other clothing.
