We absolutely love this bag as our personal item( as long as it's not overstuffed, it fits easily under the seat) to bring our toddler's plane snacks, toys, tablet, and other travel essentials along with a smattering of items we want to keep on us instead of checking through. The water bottle holders are fantastic and fit a regular nalgene perfectly. For trips without the toddler, it makes a fantastic one- bag option for light travel. And we 're finding that we go to it for non- airplane travel too( taking snacks, raincoats, umbrellas, change of clothes, and subway activities on local rainy- day excursions).

This is such a cool camping/hiking backpack, it has more pockets than I 'd know what to do with. There is a little pocket at the bottom that holds a waterproof cover. It can be easily folded back up to fit inside. There are sturdy metal rods, with a heavy duty mesh piece on the back. It will definitely hold up when hiking. I like that the main compartment can unzip to fit a sleeping bag or other bulky items. I have n't used it yet for hiking but it will be great for our next camping trip!

The bag is adequately sized for all hikes and most short camping trips. Despite its relatively small size, it boasts a number of impressive features. Firstly, this bag has a small plastic internal frame to provide structure. The frame is lightweight, yet sturdy enough for a fully packed bag. Because of the frame's assistance with weight distribution, everything felt lighter on my back. This bag also has many different pockets and straps for varied packing strategies. The straps on the bottom of the bag are perfect for a sleeping bag, ground mat, or small tent. Underneath those straps is a small pocket that holds an included rain cover to keep your bag totally dry during heavy rain. There is also a pocket on top of the bag for any small items you may need to access on the go, without opening or unpacking the rest of the bag. Finally, there is a pocket for a hydration bladder, so you can stay hydrated as you move. Some other useful features are the emergency whistle on the chest strap, the included strap management bungees( so those leftover strap ends after adjustment are n't hanging everywhere), and the water bottle pockets on the sides. Overall, I would give this product a 5/5. Met or exceeded all of my expectations. I would highly recommend this bag to anybody who is a frequent camper or hiker.

I 've gotten to take it out both XC skiing and on some winter hikes and it's the perfect size for an extra layer, snacks, first aid kit, and any other gear you might need on the trail. I love the magnet strip on the water bladder that nicely holds the bladder straw in space when not using it, and easy to drink out of while on the trail. The pockets are well thought out and easily accessible. I do wish the side water bottle pockets were a little larger to fit my nalgene, but definitely not a dealbreaker since it has the integrated bladder.

First time Osprey customer and I purchased this based on size, looks and comfort. I used this pack on an overnight hike up a strenuous 6km up hill, through waist deep snow in places. It carried the 40- 50lbs well, the hip strap with the wire takes a lot of the weight off the shoulders. It has lots of adjustability and many pockets. I like the fact that you can unzip the front and access items in the bottom without having to unpack everything. Two side pockets that fit larger sized water bottles( Nalgene 1L) The SM/Med fits my 5'10 medium sized frame well. Osprey has gained a lifelong customer

Cute, holds all the essentials for a day trip, or for work( holds my tablet, 2 cans of Yerba Mate and a small first aid kit among other things), and it's tough. [ This pack was a long day hike upgrade for me and I chose it for 2 reasons. First was the Airspeed suspension which definitely keeps your back cool. Second was longer torso length. ` I am a 50 year old occasional hiker who has n't had a new pack since college. Just spent 3 days hiking in the Catskills with this pack on my back for 7- 8 hours a day and I love it. Plenty of space and super comfortable. I barely noticed I was even carrying a pack, had zero shoulder or back strain, and like the frame that allows for some airflow through the back area- a big plus hiking in 80+ degree weather. Never had to use the internal rainfly, but that was definitely a selling point for me. Highly recommend!

[ The new updated Osprey Rook 65 Performs outstanding. It caries the load very well. While I used it on a winter day hike with only 25 lbs in it I feel it will comfortably carry about 35- 40 lbs. This daypack is a well- rounded minimal travel daypack. One large compartment that is expandable. Folds down flat so it can be packed. Comes with a couple of well placed straps for compression and stability( sternum strap). The bottom is made of a more durable material. It's not too hard to pack and make this backpack stand on its own. Looks great too! Small con: bottle side pockets can be hard to use if pack is full. Maybe stretchy side pockets would work better. I grabbed this with the intention of it being an addition to my bike set up. I was torn between this bag and the Abisko Hike Foldsack but decided upon this one because it rolls up and can easily store on my bike during transit. On my way home with groceries I can unroll it and wo n't have to worry about stuffing everything into my handle bar bag. [ It's light enough for me to use for small loads and big enough for me to carry a few days worth of stuff as well. I like the access options to the main compartment so I can pack items in the most accommodating way with weight where I want it but not having to unpack just to access whatever is on the bottom. Osprey quality so the only precaution I take while it's getting moved out of my hands is fasten all the clips and tuck excess strap material. I appreciate the integrated rain cover more than I thought I would. I already do recommend the pack to buddies and I would buy it again.

First time Osprey customer and I purchased this based on size, looks and comfort. I used this pack on an overnight hike up a strenuous 6km up hill, through waist deep snow in places. It carried the 40- 50lbs well, the hip strap with the wire takes a lot of the weight off the shoulders. It has lots of adjustability and many pockets. I like the fact that you can unzip the front and access items in the bottom without having to unpack everything. Superb quality everywhere and durable. Superb comfort. A few nip picking things I may do different is add an umbrella holder on the shoulder straps with molle webbing that I have seen done and is quite neat. Also the stow and go trek pole holders. Also I noticed the lid on top has 4 little molle like webbing straps and that is it. It would be much better if there was 2 more in the middle and all 4 were horizontal? and not diagonal? so you can attach a shock cord or straps to hold a blanket, rain coat or etc. As they are now you ca n't really do much with them especially with only 4 spaced so far apart and facing diagonally. But not a big deal and not worth a point deduction as this pack is exactly what I needed since I am almost 60 and it is so comfortable and adjustable and just hugs the body with nice air ventilation also. Once you load it right and adjust it accordingly is when you really notice this compared to a cheaper pack that just breaks you down and wets your clothes in sweat. I will never buy a cheap pack again as it is better for me to go to a premium one like this Osprey and spend a little extra for one that is made the way it should be to achieve the comfort, adjustability, and durability level needed to enjoy ones self when out and about other wise I would just be miserable and broke down with a bad back and knees. Trust me at my age its should be easy to understand.

I am an occasional backpacker and after 15 years of hiking my old Osprey Atmos had finally had enough.. the materials were starting to fall apart and after Osprey had repaired it once a couple years ago it was ready for replacement. Osprey replaced my old Atmos 65 with this Atmos LT 50 as part of the All Mighty Guarantee... the downsize and the simpler LT model were my choice and they honored it for me. Let me tell you this thing is WORLDS better than my 15 year old pack was even new! Stronger materials are used in areas that wore quickly on my old pack, the minimal design and smaller size is perfect for my gear that has lightened over the years and though this pack is slightly heavier than my old one it carries the weight MUCH better with the AG suspension, and feels lighter somehow. I am beyong thrilled with this newly designed Atmos as I tried the Exos and found it too minimal for me as I am not a weight weenie( although fully packed with food I am a smidge under 20lbs). This LT model is the perfect step up from the ultra light packs for folks like me that have lightened up over the years, but still want to be comfortable hauling a little extra. The one thing I will miss is the treking pole straps to quickly store them while scrambling up rocks or for road walks, but i made the decision to lose that and its a minimal sacrifice that I could potentially even fasion something for on my own so its not a big loss. I love this pack! Oh and the colors look better in person, not as pukey green, lol.

As an ultralight Backpacker, I leave my honest review here. First, I have to say that I was excited when I got this backpack; the fabrics and the implementation are outstanding excellent job Black Diamond. The fast backpack idea with those extra shoulder straps makes this backpack ideal. Not only is this one waterproof or almost, but it is merely one of the best backpacks I ever owned. Believe it or not, I have tried several UL backpacks in my career. The only downside I see is that the shoulder pocket with the zipper is too tiny to hold a standard- sized cell phone comfortably. If I had a bigger one, I could guarantee it would never fit inside.

I have n't used this pack but it looks great, with excellent materials, pockets and overall construction. It also seems to tick most boxes for ultra runners who may be doing multi- day events requiring a lot of mandatory gear. Some runners may question the design choice of having only one side of the vest strap capable of carrying a 500ml soft flask. Perhaps this is the preferred option for fastpacking but having capacity for two soft flasks in addition to two zippered pockets on either side like the BD Distance 15 pack would be ideal, at least for ultra runners.

Hours in airports and this backpack is A beast. I stuff the heck out of this bag. It packs like a 50L. The top most pocket is so big. Can fit a toiletry bag and more. Still looks new, quality is superb. Passport fits perfectly in hip pockets and snacks and earbud case. Very light and comfortable. My bag was roughly 25- 40 pounds at all times. Perfect for long trips( 10+ days)

[ I love this pack! Perfect size for a full day out of summiting or ice climbing. Plenty of room to add gear for whatever conditions the mountain decides to throw at you. You definitely get a perfect fit based on the provided adjustments and the feel if the pack distributes the weight beautifully to not weigh you down so that your energy isn ’ t spent by the weight. The fit is part of you so when you are calculating every move on a ridge thousands of feet up, you don ’ t have to worry about your pack.
