I was fortunate enough to be able to grab this when it was half price and I 'm so glad I did! The color is exactly as shown. The inside has a beautifully soft fleece layer. I also like that it has a loop near the tag inside for easier hanging. I often wear a size large in most women's clothing, but this was described as being a little bit of a loser fit and I would definitely agree with that. And I feel like it fits well while even having a little roof to spare, which is great for when I want to wear layers. I also like that it's a little bit longer in the back, so if you 're wearing leggings and would like to cover up a little bit more, this offers a little more coverage. Coverage. There are two good size pockets in the direct front on either side of the jacket and it has a zipper closure. I would definitely recommend this to others and would recommend going a size down from your normal size.

I am obsessed with the Bessie Packable Jacket. It ’s everything I didn ’ t know I needed — lightweight, incredibly warm for how thin it is, and so easy to travel with. I love how it packs into itself and even turns into a pillow( seriously genius for flights or road trips). The fit is relaxed but still flattering, and the cinch at the waist gives it shape when I want it. I ’ ve worn it in rain, wind, and chilly mornings, and it holds up perfectly. The recycled materials are a huge plus — I feel good wearing it in more ways than one! Also, shoutout to the pockets — there are more than enough and they ’ re actually functional. I have been waiting for a hooded version of a packable puffer that was still cute, and after enjoying other Halfdays products for skiing, I was excited when I saw this in their spring collection this year. This jacket arrived several weeks ago and has been great for everything I 've thrown at it! It has kept me warm, dry, and cute on rainy commutes to work, mulching my garden, and taking my dog on a field trip to our local forest preserves. It has been comfortable in temps as low as 35 and as high as 65 or so for me, personally. I love how lightweight it is, and that is compacts down if it warms up during the day and I need to pack it away for my commute home. I 've barely had this a month and it's already a favorite. If you see other review from me, you 'll get that I 'm obsessed with the TENCEL selections, this is no exception. I have no shortage of Carhartt jackets of varying weights. The cut of this is very flattering, these pants weight is perfect for spring and summer nights, or chilly days. It's still breathable, yet a nice layer to keep the chill off. I got black and thought I would regret it due to how other collect dog fur and random fuzz, but the smoothness of this fabric attracts less lint/hair and when it does get in there, it's far easier to brush off. The stiffness of other Carhartt jackets does not exist with this one, that stiffness serves its purpose, so just know that before buying. This is durable, but not as heavy duty it's perfect for general work and for going out. The flexibility is phenomenal and. I greatly appreciate that the sleeves allow for larger arms or layering without being balloons, I would n't be able to wear a sweater under it, but long sleeves and flannels fit perfectly without bunching. Seriously, they knocked it out of the park with this jacket from looks to fit to function. I 'm very tempted to grab the green as well and will watch for more colors.

I ordered the small size and the fit/cut is great. Both body and arm length spot on. Elasticized wrists help keep it in place and get the draft out. Enough room for underlayer and not bulky or puffy. material is n't noisy either. I have enough black in my wardrobe so I got the dark green/olive and it goes with everything. This jacket is more than I could have hoped for. I operate a snowplow at a ski resort at night during storms clearing parking lots. When I get out of the tractor into what is frequently a howling blizzard, this keeps me warm, sealed and protected. It's loose enough that I can wear layers underneath if it's really cold and the whole thing is lined with nylon so there is no binding at all. The hood and zipper come up to just the right place on my chin to be functional without hindering. And when it's wet snow or rain, it runs right off and I stay dry. Amazingly comfortable. There is nothing about this jacket that I do n't like. Bravo Carhartt!

I live in the interior of BC, Canada, where it ’s often brisk in the mornings and evenings. The Large met this need, I can wear it with just a base layer, when I hike in the winter and add a sweater if it ’s too cold. [ I really like this garment. I 've always been a high- end GoreTex guy, but refuse to pay those premiums any longer. I was hoping this would give me the ventilation I needed to wear a puffy without worrying about internal moisture buildup. Did a test with walking around town 2. 5- 3 hrs in continuous light rain. I always kept my arms inside, but developed a strip of moisture along the lower arms where the front/back come together( somewhat expected, but with a slightly longer arm design could be avoided). The other problem was that the face of the fabric itself slowly leaked( it was not sweat buildup as I wore cotton layers for the test and the inner layers were completely dry). It was a small amount of water, but the rain was also light. In my judgement, this works best as a just- in- case layer, either for walking a couple of blocks in town in anything up to a downpour, or summer hiking where you might not care about getting a little damp( probably a short sleeves and shorts kind of day, with a possible shower).

This jacket is really comfortable. The overall quality is great. The material is soft and it is fairly warm on a brisk day. The exterior pockets have a lot of space and can hold a decent amount of items. The inside zipper pocket is a good size as well. The outside material is softer than expected which is nice. This is an excellent jacket to defend when it is rainy or windy. I am very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it.

[ When the weather changed for our Portugal trip I needed a rain jacket fast! This jacket exceeded my expectations. It POURED rain on us and i stayed completely dry! The hood and extended visor prevented all rain from getting to my face and hair. I have waist length, super curly, thick hair and this hood kept it all in and dry! the length was perfect and prevented my lower body from getting wet. I sized up from a XL to a 2XL as I wanted room to layer and wear sweaters or sweatshirts underneath. The deep pockets were perfect for extra travel items! I got a whole water bottle inside one! The most important part is it dried of super fast and was ready for the next day of rain! It is packable and folds down to a super small size! I highly recommend this jacket. If it can keep me dry during a relentless, 7 day, Portugal downpour, it will keep you dry most anywhere! BUY IT!

I was wearing this jacket when I had a horse riding accident. When I tell you I absolutely flew off the horse and slammed into the gravel- this jacket should have ripped immediately. Instead it actually ended up protecting my body from getting any cuts. I threw the jacket in the wash and it came out seamless as if nothing had happened to it. [ I came across this jacket when searching for a synthetic alternative to my down jacket for backpacking. And while it's maybe just a little too heavy and bulky for my ultralight goals, I bought it because I liked it so much in general( tried in on in a store, bought it on Mossejaw). And now I wear it anytime the weather's a little chilly. It's warm, a great fit-- not too tight, not too baggy-- and the material just feels great. I 've also had it out in light rain for half an hour or so, and nothing soaked in. So it really is at least a little water repellent. Only con is, I do n't like the double, left- handed zipper, but I 'll get used to it. And who knows, maybe I 'll end up bringing it on a backpacking trip, since I like it so much. Glad I bought it during the big sale!

This jacket is perfect in all ways. For my broad shoulders, fairly long arms, slim torso, the fit is spot on. I saved up for a shell to have for many years, and I am so thrilled I went with this jacket. It is wind prof and I can still fit layers comfortably underneath. I am quite tall, so finding a women's jacket with long enough arms is always a struggle, but the arms fir perfectly even with some length to spare.

[ I have tried many rain jackets but rarely do they beat Fjallraven( even some hunting brands). I Love the big, adjustable hood and adjustable wrist. The material is not paper thin and cheap. I do wish it had side pockets but not a deal breaker. I do n't stuff the pockets like a purse so I have no problems with chest pockets. I 'm 130lb lbs. and have this in Small and Med depending if I need to layer.

This is my favorite jacket! I is lite, sheds small amounts of rain and I breaths very well. I live in NE where we have plenty of wind so it comes in very handy. It takes off the chill in the early morning when I walk the dog and I can wear it with an insulating piece in the late fall and early Spring. People complain about the zipper but if you are patient you will find the zipper works just find, just make sure it clicks!

Is it thin? Yes, as advertised. Is it light? Yes, 3. 7oz... as listed in the specs. Is it waterproof? No, it is water- resistant. It is by far the best running jacket I own. For cold weather( I ran in 19F this weekend) just layer with a merino top and you 'll be toasty warm... it really retains your body heat. And the coolest thing it folds up into it's own pocket the size of a large taco. If you can get it on sale... go for it.
