I bought this at the beginning of the trout season just so I didn ’ t have the break the bank. After about a month of using it, I can confidently say that this rod exceeded my expectations. It casts nice and far, and the reel feels solid. The rod itself hasn ’ t given me any issues and is super sensitive. I would just recommend removing the line that comes on it and replacing it with nicer mono or braided. Besides that 10/10!!

This rod is an incredible value for the money. If you are trying to get high end feel, but do n't have the money for pro tournament level rods. Try one of these. I have 3 and love them for everything texas rig, punching, top water, jerk baits, crankbaits etc. When looking at reviews here you will notice that the only reviews that are n't 5 stars are the ones where people are reviewing bad shipping or something that has nothing to do with the rod itself. Bottom line is if you are looking for+$ 200 quality for$ 130, buy these rods. Period.

Rod is good more whippy then I thought it would be. Also not the lightest rod but itll work for float fishing. If you are chucking lures all day get something else. Other then that this was the worst packaging I have ever seen for a rod. Just the bare rod with some paper in a massive box. If it was n't an ugly stick it would have been broken.

Bought this rod a week or two ago and it ’s held up. Negatives- It ’s a bit heavy( which I get Bc it ’s main purpose is a catfish rod). Also don ’ t like the clear tip of it, why not make it glow in the dark for night fishing if your already going to make it clear? Positives- it ’s surprisingly got pretty good sensitivity for it being a thicker 2 piece rod. It ’s a pretty strong and it really shows no signs of weakness. I ’ ve caught a bunch of catfish and perch over the past week and the rod has done great. One of the catfish being over 15lbs, it ’s earned my trust. All in all if your looking for a nice, strong, and durable rod for under$ 50 this is a safe bet. It ’s got minor issues imo so the pros heavily outweigh the cons. 4/5 stars

I was dropping 8 and 10 ounce verticle jigs down to 150 feet and the rod performed excellently. Strong backbone, yet sensitive enough to feel the bite. No need to spend hundreds of$ for a jigging rod. I caught several large Amberjacks with this rod and it did a great job controlling the fight. I like it so much I bought the Penn SSV 6500 6' 6 '' spinning/jigging rod and reel combo I have n't used it yet but I know it will perform as well as the more expensive jigging set up's.

I used this for a week long fishing trip and it exceeded expectations. It was durable and versatile in use from walleye, northern, bass and even lake trout fishing with a slab! It was strong yet sensitive enough where I could feel the difference between bottom and bite and even when my spinners were spinning. Handle was also a perfect fit and size. It was hard finding a 7ft heavy pole spinning in a brand you trust. ALSO their packaging and shipping was too notch. I 've got several ugly stiks and this rod is also really nice. First of all, it's a fast action rod which means the top 1/3 bends and the rest offers really strong backbone. It's specially great for offshore/boat fishing for rockfish, ling, hamachi, yellowfin, halibut, and striper. Also I love the one piece stainless steel guide rings. No need to worry about cracked ceramic. One thing would be great is having a bottom( butt) cap like Ugly Stik jigging rod. But it's not an issue at all. Anyways, it feets good and sturdy. Definitely satisfied with my purchase.
