Hands( or legs) down the best trekking and general wear trousers I have ever bought in 35 plus years of trekking and hiking around the globe. I sized down in these based on reviews. I usually wear a MD pant with Free Fly, but I am glad I sized down. They are `` fitted '' by sizing down, but no uncomfortably. Does not pull with sitting and I can tell they are already relaxing with wear, so I am happy I did size down. I think a MD would end up looking a bit looser than I would like with thise style of pant. I love the Canyon Clay color and the cotton is so soft and comfortable. Another great product from Free Fly!

I bought these because I liked the zip- off Ferrosi's so much and these pants are great! Despite being in the same family, the fabric feels a little different between these and the zip- offs but still incredibly stretchy and breathable. Like the zip- off, these have the built- in draw string and leg cuffs which is handy for ditching the belt and being able to pull up the cuffs if you like. These have become more of my casual around town pant now because they 're just so comfortable.

The weight and fabric is breathable light. It is the lightest pants I have hiked with. In areas where shorts are not the best option but it is hot these have been a life saver! I like the pockets and drawstring at the waist and ankles. Beginners and experts could both benefit from these pants. The only drawback is that it is thin fabric which can snare on twigs and tear. Pretty durable for their weight though.

My last pair shrunk a bit so I upsided on these in case of that. These are the most comfortable hiking pants I have owned. Also very durable. My last pair had the zipper to make shorts, which I hardly ever used and was less comfortable due to the zipper. These are perfect when you want some coverage hiking but also breathability when you get a sweat going. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a solid hiking pant.

These trousers were the reason for me to fall in love with the Fjällräven brand. I 've used them extensively while camping, tenting, hiking and- yes- winter mountaineering. I absolutely love the design, materials and functionality. Those were my first pair of hiking pants with pre- bent knees and I felt the difference in comfort and freedom of movement. In hot summer days, they might feel a bit heavy, so the ventilations are essential to keep you cool. I can appreciate the front pockets as well, as they have enough depth and are easy to reach on the go. My pair is ageing quite well and has no issues with the durability even after extensive use and washing cycles- the color on the G- 1000 does start to fade a bit, but it looks even cooler that way. Overall these are one of my favorite trousers. For the winter mountain, they are a bit baggy and may get in the way of your crampons, so I switched to a pair of Bergtagen Stretch for that. Still, they can do the job and will not let you down. For all other seasons, they are unbeatable.

I 've bought three pairs of these pants over the years. They are slim- fitting, a bit stretchy, and lightweight. Good for summer. They have some nice details like the pockets and cuff snaps, although honestly I do n't use either of those much. They are very slim fitting, so make sure you do n't order them too small in the waist. A lot of outdoor clothing companies make pants similar to these-- light, slightly stretchy, clean- looking and not too complicated. I think these are one of the better versions.

The pants have a perfect amount of stretch, which makes them comfortable during a day on the trail, and when relaxing around camp afterward. The zippered legs come off and on easily, and the adjustable drawstring at the ankle allows you to cinch it up around your boot to help keep 6- 8 legged critters and trail debris out of your shoes. [ These are literally the only non- wide leg outdoor pants that have ever fit my thighs and hips without falling down or gaping at the waist. I love them so much. They are so durable. They aren ’ t quite as high rise on the back as I would like, but otherwise these are amazing and comfortable and I would happily grab a drink or dinner in the( admittedly very casual) PNW urban area after. These are not my first pair and will not be my last, but that ’s because I love them so much. The first ones from a few years ago are still holding up despite multiple slides on scree, grazes with my crampons, and other issues that lesser pants could never dream to be able to handle. They are long, but the edges are raw so you can hem them yourself. I have adenomyosis and endometriosis and so sometimes I get that pregnant- looking belly, and then they do feel tight, but that ’s true of almost everything. Normal bloating doesn ’ t make them uncomfortable. For me, I would say they run larger than almost all trousers but smaller than the Fjällräven Abisko trekking and trail tights.

[ I wanted to get another pair of the “ Holly Pants ”, which I love and have had for many years, however Marmot has discontinued them. The “ Arche Rock Pants ”, according to a very helpful person in Consumer Service, are the closest match. I like the pants but I ’ d prefer a light soft lining which the Holly pants have and a softer outside material which probably is less water resistant. The Arche Rock pants have a thin material with no lining and they rustle when I walk. Maybe some of the stiffness will decrease over time. These are great pants! Just the right amount of lining for me in Chicago winter when it's cold out- keep in mind I generally run warm, but this helps me avoid wearing leggings/long underwear on the real cool days. Zippers are well designed and I like the phone pocket on the right leg. Sizing, for me, seems about right. No complaints whatsoever!

I had a pair of these about 5 years ago when I walked the Camino in Spain. After walking, I backpackad throughout Europe for the next 12 months. These were my only pants. They are durable, lightweight, breathable, dry fast and I loved them for all of that plus the zippered pocket that kept my wallet and passport safe in Paris when two friends had theirs stolen. The majority of the time I hand washed them since an actual washing machine was wishful thinking. Fortunately, they do n't hold onto sweat and stink like some man- made fabrics so a sink, some warm water, a little bit of soap, and some elbow grease kept me from being too socially unacceptable. Did they pill? Yes, between the thighs. So what. The zippers held, no seams unraveled, the front button did n't pop when I first wore them and was too fat for them and the drawstring was a lifesaver when they were too loose when I finished. Ladies, these are a perfect pant. I just bought a new pair. It's the right time. Adventure awaits!

Love these. I have two pairs in different colors. I get many compliments on them while hiking. They are comfortable and the waist height is perfect. Love the side zipper pocket AND the back zipper pocket. For sizing, I am 5' 4 '' and a muscular 130 pounds, and the size 4 fits me well. I hike frequently in the Grand Canyon and these pants have withstood at least 4 hikes in there so far. I am also a climber.

I skidded on my side about 8 feet after crashing a dirtbike going way faster than I had any right to, and the pants look new. I don ’ t know if the current fabric is the same as these, but I bought them about seven years ago, wore them hiking, and then decided to take up dirt biking last Saturday( you are correct, these are not appropriate pants for that sport). I ordered the pants and jacket to replace some old faithful ones that have been reliable for years. I 've always been happy with the Helium line for backpacking. Although I would n't call them super durable thats not really what they are meant for. I use them as the lightweight layer to keep rain off on the occasional rain during backpacking trips or light rain.

I love the way these pants feel and look. I recently bike commuted in them in the rain and unexpectedly they did great shedding water, they barely got wet at all. I love the stretchy waistband and overall fit. Being a little taller, they bottoms are a few inches above my ankles but that's fine if you 're looking for that. I would love an identical option that extended another 6 '' or so and in a few more fun colors. I 'm about 5' 7 '' and 133# and a size S was just right to avoid a baggy look that still moved well. I always seem to fall somewhere between an OR size S and M for bottoms, though.

I LOVE these pants. I bought a pair 6 months ago and am buying more in case OR ever gets rid of them. I 've tried the OG ferrosi climbing pants& the ferrosi leggings, but these are my favorite. I climb in them frequently and they hold up on wide cracks and sharp crystals. They look great and are so comfortable. I love that they are slightly cropped& tapered so they stay out of the way when climbing. I 'm 5' 4, 130lbs,& typically a size 4,& the size small fits perfect. I own two pairs and highly recommend them. This style goes from day- to- day errands to casual dining to travel to hiking- an excellent multipurpose piece of clothing! I recently took a skid on a downhill abrasive, pebbly hike and thought `` this is end of these pants ''. I was wrong- they were n't at all damaged and the rock dust just brushed off. I would love to see some more colors in muted tones- gray, drab olive green, etc. The khaki color goes with most color tops, but the green is an evergreen color that does n't go with most of my wardrobe, just the black and white tops. I dress in dull colors that do n't show travel wear.

The most comfortable waistband. It has some type of very soft liner in the waistband that is a treat. Yes, these are a little higher- waisted then my other outdoor joggers, but it works because you can easily and comfortably, roll down the waistband without bulk. Material is so, so comfy( and no swish/swish when walking, etc). I 'm a 27/4 pants in Women's and probably could 've sized down to an XS). Length great at 5' 4 but the design is such that I can comfortably roll- up the bottom once and they still look 'cute' and are functional.

Finally, the absolute perfect pair of pants!! I am so excited! I have long been obsessed with the Ferrosi fabric, and joggers are my favorite style of pants. They are legitimately the most comfortable and functional pants I 've ever owned and I hope they make so many more colors. I fluctuate between the 16 and 16W sizes in the regular Ferrosi pants, and the XL in the joggers fit me perfectly. I could also probably wear the XXL but they 'd be significantly looser than the model in the pic and I like them a little form fitting. I would say to size down if you 're in between sizes unless you want them baggy. The drawstring waist is so comfy and non- restrictive, and the cuffs hit right at the ankle of my 5'10 '' frame. They are the perfect amount of stretchy but hold their shape, they 're super breathable and water resistant, and honestly more comfortable than most of my pajama pants! Way to go OR!

My last pair shrunk a bit so I upsided on these in case of that. These are the most comfortable hiking pants I have owned. Also very durable. My last pair had the zipper to make shorts, which I hardly ever used and was less comfortable due to the zipper. These are perfect when you want some coverage hiking but also breathability when you get a sweat going. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a solid hiking pant.

I ’ ve put a ton of wear and tear on these pants with backpacking, hiking, rock climbing, and general travel. For being as breathable and light as these are, they hold up to abrasions pretty well. I ’ ve had tons of branches, rocks, and trees slide on these without any major damage. The integrated shoelace/string belt on the interior of the waist is a great little compliment to the external belt loops, no extra bulk with a little extra security. One small negative I have for these are the elastic cinches at the cuffs. They ’ ve held up fine so far, but I ’ m always worried about losing one of the little clips that go on them. Just make sure you loosen them before taking the pants off and double check that the 2 pieces are still there.

I ’ ve been wearing these pants for both work and play for the last 3 years. Phenomenal in almost every way. Hard wearing, durable, and stylish. I do wish they were a bit thicker( like this version from years ago), but they are thick enough for construction work. They happen to be just right for backpacking in the Winds of Wyoming- warm days, cold nights. As to the comments from others about being too tight, order a larger size… Pockets are adequate for what I put in them but they are not giant cargo pockets. One of the best features is the strategic stretch material. Pants are never binding and always comfortable. Thank you for making an amazing product!

No offense, but size up. I ’ m specifically speaking to my thiqq boys that make noise in the gym. We love leg day, we do it because it allows us to hike for longer. We do it for the glutes. Trust me when I say it ’s not you it ’s them. Size up and thank me later. Aside from the sizing I love these and I personally think they are a great investment if you want to take your hiking attire to the next level. Ventilation isn ’ t the cure for everything and everyone sweats differently. The ventilation here definitely cured my souther sweat factory. I used these on a hike and my back was getting sweaty so on way back I ventilated and holy cow what a difference. You sacrifice a pocket and some thigh space by having the zipper to ventilate but this thiqq boy doesn ’ t like to chafe and am I happy I found these. I still give these a 5 star regardless of the size up. I do not like to have a sweaty bottom or back and this did exactly what I needed. Take the time and invest in gear that will last longer, haste makes chafe.

Initial observations. These pants are true to size. They fit great with a belt. I was worried about the boot hook and vent zipper. The boot hook is tucked away so that it is protected from accidently catching. The zipper pulls on the vents tucks away when open or closed.
