The gloves do a great job lightly insulating, they are n't waterproof but still do a decent job keeping your hands dry. I 've hiked with them, they make good driving mitts too. They are pretty windproof too which makes them the most useful in colder windy weather. My only complaint is if you 're wearing a watch or some other form of wrist accessory, the wrist parts of the glove do n't do a great job accommodating for that. Other than that, great mitts.

I love these gloves. And they are liners, technically, but at the right temperature they serve well enough on their own. I have tested them on a morning walk when it was closer to 30⁰, and I have to say perhaps—and for someone who tends to run hotter, generally—that I think these gloves are suited best on their own out the door when it's at least in the upper 30s outside. If you 've been walking for a while and your body's warmed up they 'll serve you better, of course. Otherwise, using them on my phone is almost just like not wearing gloves, which has been great! Living in New York comes with cold winters, and these gloves are perfect for everyday use. They work great with a touchscreen and fit really well, offering a decent amount of warmth. Around 10 degrees Fahrenheit they do feel a bit chilly but anything above that temperature they feel warm enough. The only downside is not being very grippy on a steering wheel, so driving in them is not amazing. The value for money, functionality, warmth, and design combined make for a solid pair of gloves.

Got these gloves because I wanted something that I could wear to cover my hands in the winter when I 'm either walking or doing light activities but do n't necessarily need a bulky winter glove. I live in Colorado so temperatures vary dramatically in the winter and my hands run on the cold side, but I 'd say these are perfect for brief outdoor exposure near 0 °F and ideal for long durations in temperatures around 15- 20°F. The screen tap material works amazingly well with my phone, it's as if I 'm not even wearing a glove. I normally wear between a S and M for gloves, because I did n't want any loose fingers I sized down to a S. It's slightly tight but still fits great and after breaking in just a bit they... fit like a glove( could n't resist). Getting the wrist part of the glove over my hand is a bit tight and does n't flex as much as you might expect but still easy enough to get on and fits perfectly once on.

I have Reynaud ’s and can never keep my hands warm. These mittens aren ’ t perfect, I still get cold fingers, but they are the best I ’ ve had in a very long time. The inner mittens are great on their own. I use them primarily for running, but they would be great for skiing and other winter activities. I liked them so much I bought a second pair. They ’ re big and a bit bulky, but they ’ re warm, well made. I have been wearing the inner mittens in warmer temps using trekking poles. The most extreme weather I used them in was snowshoeing in- 25- 28 °F with a good 10- 15 mph wind. The mittens were so warm that at times I had to remove them so my hands could cool off. The Patrol gloves feel like a toned down version of the Guide gloves that I 've used extensively. The biggest difference is the shorter gauntlet and the insulation only covering the palm, where the insulated inner runs down over the wrist into the gauntlet on the Guides. Because of those differences the mobility is a bit better with the Patrol, they 're a less bulky/more packable and are n't quite as warm as the Guides.

Absolutely love these gloves for mahy reasons. Firstly, the glove has an amazing fit. While it is easy to get on with the straps to help it is a snug fit that allows me to manouever very well with them. Additionally, the gloves are not so big and padded that I ca n't do much with my hands, however, they still keep my hands warm. The gloves are warm and comfortable thus far, although they ’ ve not been put through any extreme days yet. Over the cuff three finger gloves are a rarity, so I ’ m glad to see more of them, as that ’s my preferred style. These get bonus points for having a “ nose wipe ”, as that ’s something I ’ ve found myself really missing on gloves that don ’ t have them. My only complaint is that the gloves seem to run very large compared to the size charts( of which there are multiple, depending on where you look, and they conflict with each other). I bought a size small pair for my sister as a Christmas gift, and they are large enough that I could wear them with only very slight discomfort, despite the fact that I generally wear a size 9( or Men ’s Large) glove. If you can try them on in person or can exchange them for a different size, I ’ d have no issues recommending them. If you ’ re ordering online and won ’ t be able to exchange them, either because of vendor policies or time constraints, I ’ d consider other options if you have them.

I recently used these gloves on two different 11- 12 hour hikes in chilly conditions. Temps were minus 12 F with wind chill at minus 20 to minus 30 F. These kept my hands warm from start to finish. I still love these gloves and will continue to use them. HOWEVER, I did gain some more experience with them. Doing astrophotography in Arches in 21 degree weather taught me that I 'll need to add another layer and use hand warmers with these. They were fine while the blood was pumping, but when it came to waiting around, my fingers got numb. They would be perfectly fine for anything above 32 degrees. The pull tabs and large openings made it easy to get my hands in and out quickly. Adjusts at the wrist and opening for a tighter fit.

[ The fit is a bit small, depending on what you plan on doing with them. I bought these in a women's small. I have small hands; my palm circumference is an even 7 '' and the length of my hand is just less than 7 ''. I 've never previously found a women's small to be at all tight, in fact, sometimes I have to order extra smalls, but these gloves are just a tad bit on the small side. They fit perfectly when my hand is curled, as if you 're holding onto your ski poles or something else, but when I try to stretch my hand as open as possible, it feels just a bit tight in the length. So if you plan on standing around with your hand opened wide and pressed down flat, you should size up. The other issue is the gauntlet sleeve is a little tight/small in circumference-- it's just a bit hard to pull on over a parka sleeve, especiallly if one glove is already on. Also, if you want really fine dexterity, these are too thick for that. I found that while the touchscreen fingers do work fine on my phone and tablet, the difficulty comes in in accuracy, due to the thickness of the gloves. I also found it a little difficult to use a sensitive two button mouse without accidental clicks. However, those things aside, the gloves are very comfy/cozy. The inside lining is soft and I have n't yet noticed sweaty palms. They kept me warm and dry working outside in cold and rainy weather, which is what I bought them for. I would have preferred if the palms had been reinforced with another layer of leather, but so far they seem to be holding up to chopping and stacking wood and other miscellaneous odd jobs around a cabin in the woods when it's cold and rainy. I would imagine these would be good for snowsports as well as winter motorcycling, but again, if you 're looking for really fine touchscreen dexterity, I 'd find a thinner glove that maybe is n't as warm/thick.

Sometimes you want a lighter, thinner glove that makes it easier to manipulate things in your pack, pull skins, dig pits, etc. Other days you want a glove that keeps you warm and dry when it ’s dumping and windy on the chairlift. These are those gloves. The inner liner can be pulled out to dry faster, and the long gauntlet shell keeps rain and snow where it ’s supposed to be. I supplemented the included Nikwax for better coverage and seam sealing. So far these are my favorite in- bounds gloves in years, better than the Hestras and Kincos I have used in the past.

These gloves were used on an expedition cruise to Antarctica where I did zodiac rides and hiking. They kept my hands warm in sub- freezing temps, no issue! I have owned these mittens through two seasons now. Through that time they have held up very well through trees, being dragged on the ground, and carrying around sharp edges of a snowboard. I waited on making a review to see how they held up over time after being completely soaked and dried numerous times, and evaluate the wear on the palm. Both have impressed, but not as much as their warming capability. The thing that will separate these from other mittens is their ability to warm while wet. They are not as waterproof as some other gloves as this price point, but they are the warmest mittens I have ever used and they retain that warming ability even when the inside is saturated. My suggestion would be an alternative to velcro for the wrist cuff as snow gets caught on it very easily, making it difficult to use( draw string?). These gloves have been used between temps of 15- 45 degrees F on the west and east coast in clear and stormy conditions. Picture displays palm wear after 1. 5 seasons of heavy use.

I ’ ve used these a lot for this winter season and I ’ m loving them. Hiking in- 15c and my hands have still been nicely warm without sweating too much. They ’ ve been durable handling brush and digging through snow. They flex well with my hand and don ’ t restrict movement too much- which is great for a glove that can still keep my hands warm in these temperatures while active. These are my new favorite belay gloves! I take them up on the wall when I 'm doing multipitch climbs and also to the sport crag. They are versatile and generally awesome! I did get some holes in them after some usage, so be aware the durability is an issue, but I really have n't found a glove that's both dextrous and durable. Belay gloves put up with some serious abuse, so I 'm not really sure what's reasonable to expect.

I do love the new gloves. I used the size chart and I feel like the XL was the right size for me. The look and material are of a high quality. They keep me warm in cold conditions skiing. For future builds I wish:- They had a zipper pouch for hand warmer and doubles as a vent. I would recommend these gloves and would purchase again.

Cold weather has returned to Ice Climbing in Canada and trigger finger mittens is the answer. The singular problem with all mittens and gloves is taking them off and putting them back on when hands get wet. These mitts are on the more positive end of that spectrum

I normally wear size XL to XXL in most glove brands. I hesitated when sizing these per the size chart as it had me at a size L. I ordered per the chart and they fit perfectly. I have n't used yet so ca n't comment on longevity but in all appearance are well made. Looking forward to skiing with them in a few weeks.

I have the intermediate weight OR sensor gloves used mountaineering in the Alps and really liked them. I was hoping these had allowed for better dexterity and they did. I ’ ve used this for everyday wear, rucking, hunting and some mountaineering in Maine. The coldest I ’ ve worn these were at around 10°F with the windchills around- 2°F. I was active during my wear and had no issues. I find these stay try better than the intermediate OR glove and really think the grid interior keeps my hand dryer and warmer than the intermediate.

I thought they would be good based on the specs- solid amount of synthetic insulation, durable palms. They exceeded what I hoped due to the hi pile inner lining. Had them bushwhacking/ breaking up deep snow this winter on some ADK high peaks and even when I had to squeeze out my glove liners from the snow dumping off everything and getting everywhere the pile lining does not collapse/wet out and allowed me to keep hands warm/ evaporate some of that wet. The outers were frozen due to all the water, and I was still fine. So they get major points for damp/icy/cold NE winters because they deal well with the constant moisture. Used them on several overnights as well and they were still functional handling a couple days of it. Can sleep with the removable liners on overnight to dry if needed. Palms have held up to various spruce/fir scrub swimming, some ice ax use, and clawing through deep snow. Seems pretty good.

I have used the gloves for snowshoeing in temperature ranges from 5 to 15 degrees and my hands were warm throughout. The snug wrist does I believe lead to a bit of moisture buildup but they dry quickly. Better mobility than the mittens and no loss of comfort.

These gloves have been my go to for the past few years. I use them mainly for walking the dog and sledding with the kids but I also use them during backcountry snow machining and they provide me with the dexterity I need and my hands stay plenty warm. Will they keep your hand as warm as the absolute mitt? No, but that is not what they are designed for. If you need a glove that has great dexterity, keeps your hands warm and stays dry even after digging a snow machine out of deep snow all day these are the gloves for you. I will be sad when they are discontinued in the future.

I have, I believe one of the first iterations of this glove from wayyyyy back when. Climbed long WI4/5 with them in mid teens temps plus some shorter mixed routes around Colorado. Loved them for ice climbing because unlike other gloves they weren ’ t bulky. My hand felt comfortable on my axes and didn ’ t bounce around like thicker gloves. While I haven ’ t ice climbed since a stroke 4 years ago these are still my go to for the only thing I ’ ve got left for the outdoors and that backpacking. Especially in the winter. Snowshoes now as backcountry skiing is lit too. 😩 have some photos but can ’ t seem to post them.

The fit is great, they worked well in sub- 10 degrees F windy conditions. The palms are synthetic not natural, so use them appropriately. Very warm, comfortable, and kept out the wind. Good for light to medium work like shoveling snow. Good for all users from beginner to expert.

This is my 3rd pair of this model, going back many years. I agree with the other review that it has been downsized; previously I wore a size L and had plenty of room; now I wear a size XL and it's not as roomy as my older ones, but still adequate. I 'm giving it a 5 star review because of its simplicity and the excellent wind blocking. Most gloves are too tight at the wrist, which reduces circulation and makes taking them on/off difficult. The straight cuff on these is perfect, and they 're easy to get on and off. The sensor finger feature works better than any other brand I 've tried. I hope this stays unchanged in the lineup for many more years.
