I used these at 10~15 degrees C, and my hands held some sweat. These gloves alone would be good between- 10~10 degree C. You would need extra thermal gears under- 10C. I felt the size runs a little large as I break in. You could do half size down if you want tight fits.

Enter the Black Diamond Mission MX mittens and all I can say is let ’s go outside, and bring on the snow. First of all, this is the first xs mitten that really is extra small and fits me. There ’s loads of insulation but they ’ re not too bulky( they work great with ski poles and trekking poles and give me enough dexterity to make snow balls). I love these gloves. I am a ski patroller and need a warm and functional glove. The mission gloves provide the dexterity I need to manage a taboggan, ropes, and tools. I still love these gloves and will continue to use them. HOWEVER, I did gain some more experience with them. Doing astrophotography in Arches in 21 degree weather taught me that I 'll need to add another layer and use hand warmers with these. They were fine while the blood was pumping, but when it came to waiting around, my fingers got numb. They would be perfectly fine for anything above 32 degrees. The pull tabs and large openings made it easy to get my hands in and out quickly. Adjusts at the wrist and opening for a tighter fit.

I bought these gloves mostly for winter hunting and ice fishing in Fairbanks AK, as well as commuting and work. They appear durable and well- made, and they are quite comfortable. I was expecting them to be a bit warmer given their bulk, but they get chilly pretty fast in anything below zero. If you live in a cold climate and do n't need a lot of dexterity, I would recommend sizing up and getting some decent liners. For casual snow activities, they 'd be great out of the box. Great quality gear. I have used OR equipment for over a decade in some pretty harsh environments and I have always been impressed. These were bought for snowboarding, and I was worried after the first trip when one of the pull tabs seemed to have broken. However, the he tab was meant to be easily adjusted/replaced and I was able to clip it right back in place. These are warm for cold days on the mountain and durable.

These are insulated work gloves. I do n't know that I would say `` high dexterity. '' However, they kept me far warmer than my unlined cowhide gloves with about the same dexterity. I would buy again. In fact I will buy again, because I gave these away to someone who needed them more. The durability is good. The leather palm is thin and wo n't last forever. That's the tradeoff, I suppose. They are washable. I got them good and muddy a couple of times and hand washing returned them to great condition.
