White Mountains 21°F with 5- 10mph winds these gloves worked well as long as you keep active. My fingers were cool but not freezing cold( without liner gloves). My hands did not sweat like in normal gloves. People expecting toasty warm fingers might want to pair these gloves with a thin liner glove. These gloves are thicker than a liner glove but thin and light enough to fit in your jacket pocket. Sizing is perfect. In most gloves a Med is tight but fits perfectly and a Large leaves extra room in the finger tips. These gloves in Med fit almost perfect and leave room for a light weight liner glove.

[ To be honest if you think you can use those gloves on a cold weather, you can but you MUST do an activity( run or walk) to keep your hands warm in order to have the omi- heat technology to work, those gloves are not for cold weather but you can use them for hiking or temperature over 20F

5 Gichan
These gloves keep your hand dried very well. I have n't used under several weather yet, so I am not sure about waterproof from rain& snow yet. I used these at 10~15 degrees C, and my hands held some sweat. These gloves alone would be good between- 10~10 degree C. You would need extra thermal gears under- 10C. I felt the size runs a little large as I break in. You could do half size down if you want tight fits.

5 HillaryF
[ High quality 3M Thinsulate gloves. These gloves are super warm and soft on the inside. They look rugged with their leather on the outside. Perfect for working outdoors or outdoor activities. They arent stiff meaning you can actually feel what youre trying to pick up. Even come with a removable wrist strap so if needed you can take the gloves off and still know where they are and then quickly put them back on.

5 LindaL
[ The Wells Lamont HydraHyde insulated gloves are perfect for cold weather hand protection. The leather repels moisture but stays flexible. The insulation keeps hands warm in cold weather. I really like the knitted wrist as it keeps snow out. These gloves seem very durable. The downside to these is that my dexterity is n't great when wearing them. My fine motor skill tasks are a bit tricky. Overall, these gloves keep my hands warm and dry, and they are affordable to purchase.

These are fantastic! I 'm normally a gloves guy but I bought these for very cold conditions and they did not disappoint. The fit is excellent. They kept my hands warm for two hours on a snowmobile at- 18C( without grip heaters). I like the snug cuffs, they fit under my coat sleeve and keep the snow out. Time will tell but they seem durable and well constructed.

5 Anthony G
I 've been using these gloves 2- 3 times weekly for around 4 months now. They 're starting to show some wear on the palms, but I believe that's on me for not treating the leather first. These gloves have keep my hands warm in temps as low as- 25° with the wind chill added. Still very efficient even when my hands got sweaty in them.

5 Richard B
Super high quality materials and construction. The majority of the mit is a really nice quality leather with great feel. Elastic cuff is fairly snug pulling them on but gives nice closure and feel once on.

I love these gloves, they are so warm! I use them on their own hiking while splitboarding and as a liner for really cold days in the resort. The Small size fit my small hands very well... I have borderline kid size hands and they still fit me pretty well. I was able to use my phone with the gloves on my hands. Highly recommended if you want warm hands!

5 L
I was expecting those gloves to be good, but they absolutely exceeded my expectations. The first time I wore them, I was outside for six hours in steady rain and near- freezing temperatures. My hands were the driest part of me. Not that these are waterproof- they aren't- but the grid fleece on the backs of the hands wicks and breathes so well that my body heat dried the gloves faster than they could get wet. My hands stayed warm and dry, and the fingers were still dextrous enough that I could work outside. Love these and will be buying more, plus anything else made of Vigor Plus fleece that I can get my hands on. Big improvement in fit over the previous year's model as well.

5 Daniel P

Took these on trail and they kept my fingers warm in a cold rain. I like the fit, the feel, but glad it did not rain the next day because they did not dry fast at all. Did not expect waterproof of course, but was hoping they would be useful again without a dryer. Taking something else for days long hiking next time, but these are still nice, keeping for different scenarios, hikes closer to home.

I think these are great gloves… I had tried my daughters pair that had the different grip than these ones and really liked them so ordered these ones so they wouldn ’ t be entirely the same. These ones have dots on the palms instead. I consider myself to have bigger sized hands so sized up to a large. I definitely should ’ ve gotten the med! The fingers are too long for me and look funny to me. So I ’ m definitely just going to exchange for the med! They ’ re very frilly and work great on my iPhone. Just be careful with sizing! The med feel sung but not too tight. I had to pull them over my hands which is why I sized up thinking they ’ d just be slightly bigger. Overall I recommend these gloves!

I usually buy the Grabber hand warmers during the winter in order to slip them inside my gloves to keep my hands warm. When I saw these heated gloves in the store, I thought it was such a clever idea. It saves me money and I feel better about not using so many disposable hand warmers. The battery packs are slim and not even noticeable inside the zippered pocket on the cuffs. They are convenient and easy to use and recharge.

Frequently Asked Questions For Winter Hiking Gloves

When selecting winter hiking gloves, consider features such as insulation for warmth, waterproof or water-resistant materials to keep your hands dry, and breathability to prevent moisture buildup. Look for gloves with a good grip to handle trekking poles or other equipment easily. Additionally, touchscreen compatibility can be useful for using devices without removing the gloves. A snug fit and adjustable cuffs can help keep cold air and snow out while ensuring comfort during your hike.

To choose the right size for winter hiking gloves, start by measuring the circumference of your hand just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb. Use this measurement to refer to the sizing chart provided by the manufacturer, as sizes can vary between brands. Additionally, consider the type of insulation and lining in the gloves, as a snug fit may be necessary for warmth while still allowing for some movement. Trying on gloves with the intended base layers can also help ensure a proper fit.

Winter hiking gloves are typically made from a combination of materials designed to provide warmth and durability. Common materials include synthetic fabrics that offer insulation and moisture-wicking properties, as well as leather or reinforced textiles for added durability and grip. Many gloves also feature waterproof or water-resistant coatings to help keep hands dry in wet conditions. Additionally, some gloves incorporate fleece or thermal linings for extra warmth during cold weather hikes.

When selecting winter hiking gloves for extreme weather conditions, look for styles that offer insulation, waterproofing, and wind resistance. Gloves made with advanced materials can help keep hands warm and dry while providing dexterity for handling gear. Additionally, features like adjustable cuffs and touchscreen compatibility can enhance functionality in harsh environments. Many gloves also incorporate layering systems to allow for added warmth without sacrificing mobility.

Winter hiking gloves are specifically designed to provide enhanced warmth, insulation, and weather resistance compared to regular gloves. They often feature materials that are both breathable and waterproof, ensuring hands stay dry and comfortable during outdoor activities. Additionally, winter hiking gloves may include specialized grips and dexterity features to allow for better handling of hiking gear and equipment. Overall, these gloves prioritize functionality and protection in cold, wet conditions.

When selecting winter hiking gloves, consider insulation materials that provide warmth while allowing for breathability. Common options include synthetic insulation, which offers excellent warmth-to-weight ratios and dries quickly, and down insulation, known for its lightweight and compressible properties. Additionally, some gloves feature a combination of materials to enhance warmth and moisture management, ensuring comfort during outdoor activities. Look for gloves that balance insulation with dexterity to maintain grip and control while hiking.

Yes, winter hiking gloves can be versatile and suitable for various outdoor activities. Many designs offer insulation and weather resistance, making them ideal for activities like snowshoeing, skiing, or even casual winter walks. Their grip and dexterity features also allow for ease of use when handling equipment or performing tasks outdoors. However, it's important to consider the specific conditions and requirements of each activity to ensure optimal performance.

When selecting winter hiking gloves, it's important to consider the grip and dexterity they offer. Look for gloves with textured palms or grip-enhancing materials that provide traction for handling trekking poles or navigating rough terrain.
