This is absolutely the best yoga mat I ’ ve ever owned. It looks and performs like or better than MUCH more expensive mats! It ’s extra thick, with a much more substantial and luxurious feel. This Calia yoga mat is my favorite. Two best things are its length and grip. I ’ m 5 ’ 8 ” tall so many yoga mats are to short, not this one. I can keep my feet and hands on the matt. No more slippery grip cuz my feet don ’ t fit. The grip is amazing, even when my hands get sweaty. This mat is a bit on the heavier side but that ’s the trade off for the length and grip.

I love this yoga mat. My only complaint is that it's actually 5mm thick. The description says it's 6mm. But the last picture shown you can see that the packaging says it is 5mm, I just did n't notice that when I bought it. I do n't know what's up with that. Other than that I 'm happy with the product. I purchased this yoga mat at my local Dick's Sporting Goods Store. I had been wanting a really good mat after attending Hot Yoga with an 'ordinary' Target- brand mat. I was slipping and sliding all over the place with my previous mat. With the Manduka PRO Mat, I was calm- cool- and stable. It was wonderful! It is a little slick at first( the protective coating has to wear off), but that will get better with time. I have become a Manduka fanatic after using this mat. FYI- it is a little heavy. I would recommend purchasing a yoga strap or yoga bag to haul this puppy around in.

I actually picked this up for outdoor boot camp class. Our classes are held at an elementary school playground on the blacktop. It gets really dirty, unfortunately but the cushion is superior to cheaper mats and the grip was great on day one even though the package says you need to break it in a bit. I have a tailbone that sticks out so I need good padding. It's a great mat for yoga as well, of course.

[ So far I 've only used this for one class, but it is not slippery! I go to buti yoga, which is sort of like a combination between cardio and yoga, and I sweat, although I am not a heavy sweater. It involves a lot of downward dogs, and I felt much more stable than I did on my previous mat. My hands felt grounded and did not slide. The mat did seem a bit slick when I first received it, but I read lots of reviews and followed a few suggestions: leaving it out in the sun for a few hours( it was 80 degrees), rubbing a fine grain sandpaper over it( once over, applying a bit of force), and using a heavy duty scotch- brite sponge with some cleaner( I used Mrs. Meyers) before rinsing it off and letting it dry. I maybe spent 10- 15 minutes using the sandpaper and cleaner. And it worked! I am hopeful that this is my soul mat.
