The weather can be bipolar very often, so if it's 35 degrees outside at the beginning of the day and hot later, I like the fact that I can carry a lightweight jacket around and stuff it in my backpack when I 'm not wearing it. Unlike some puff jackets, they can be very heavy and bulky. The jacket is ideal for 35+ degree weather or a little under if you layer well underneath. Also, keep in mind my 35- degree weather may feel warmer to others who live in areas that get lots of snow and wind. I absolutely love this jacket! It ’s true to size and fits appropriately snug but not tight. It has two zippers along the teeth, which is super helpful if you ’ re crouching down or generally stretching the jacket in some fashion,( you can move that bottom zipper up to open the jacket a bit, so it ’s not as taut at the bottom). The hood and fur are removable but I haven ’ t taken either off. The jacket is quite warm and comfy, even without the heat on! I highly recommend. It ’s fashionable yet way more beneficial than your average jacket. Plus, you can turn the light off if you don ’ t want people to know you ’ ve got the heat on. I love it so much, I ’ m considering buying it in green too!

I am a small or medium in all my other coats, jackets and tops. This parka in olive is exactly like the pictures in my opinion. It is heavy, good quality and beautiful. I ordered a size medium based upon the size chart and it is VERY fitted in the hips. I am an athletic build- 150lbs with lots of muscle, however I have wider hips than my waist( hourglass) for sure and this REALLY hugs my hips. Fits well in the upper body. Quite possibly large would have worked better, especially since the battery sits on the hips( tightest portion for me). The jacket is beautiful and works well, however the sizing seems to run at least 1- 1. 5 sizes smaller than average. Can not wear bulky layers with this size for sure. Would love at least an exchange option for size issues on open box items.

I ended up going with my normal size of XS after trying the XS and S. I 'm 5' 1 '' and 109 lbs for reference. The size small fit more oversized but the arm sleeve were slightly too long. If you 're between sizes, I would size up. My main concern was how cropped it might be and both jackets ended up hitting my waist at about the same spot so I went with the smaller size for the better arm and shoulder fit.

I LOVE this jacket. I do wish the hip area was more boxy and had a synch cord. It can be a bit tight on the hips even tough I sized up. I really like that the powder skirt is removable to get rib of the added bulk. I wish there was an outer chest pocket. The wrist cuffs are a bit bulky. The jacket is super warm but sometimes it feels like the seams are not windproof. Overall very happy with the purchase. 10/10 for style points.

[ Have been on a hunt for a new shirt jack, and this is the one I liked best out the 4 I tried. Very well built, lightweight and wind breaking. The poly insulation is just thick enough without being bulky, and plenty warm. I run hot, so this is great for me. I live in a wet climate, so water resistance is important. When I received this, the first test was to run water over my sleeve in the sink. The water ran right off. Recently had a scrap with a rose branch and the tough shoulder material was unaffected. Love this jacket. I was worried about the reports that it's `` short '' I 'm 5' 9 '' with a longer torso and short legs( 30- 32 inseam) and the jacket came to just below my belt line. It's definitely a jacket for car camping, walks around town, etc. This IS N'T a summit series jacket and is defiantly not built as a belay jacket which I think some get confused. I like the jacket for downhill( lift) skiing at Whistler/Blackcomb:- The hood covers the entire helmet and stays up. I like to ski with my hood up when it's a bit cold.- The big, wide collar to zips up to cover most of my face even when wearing a thick face covering.- It has appropriate insulation. You need extra layers underneath when it's cold but it should be quite wearable for spring skiing with just a shirt on underneath.- Pockets are where they should be and the right size. Some suggestions for improvement:- There is no place to attach a whistle which would be close to the mouth. The zipper pulls where I would normally attach a whistle are solid and not useful for that purpose. This is quite important when skiing a big mountain resort like Whistler/Blackcomb. There really needs to be a place to attach a whistle near the mouth. I may get a little loop sown in some place on the jacket.- The inside chest zipper pocket should be on the inside of the insulation rather than the outside. This would keep the phone and other electronics warmer.- It would be nice if the collar was just a bit higher, maybe by a centimeter or so. Not a big deal. Overall I am very happy with the jacket so far.

I 've owned a lot of jackets over the years. Helly Hansen, Eddie Bauer, Spyder, Khul, Mammut, etc. This is by far the warmest jacket I 've ever owned. Even at 30- 35 degrees( F) I sometimes find myself unzipping it as it is too much insulation. I 've worn it out to about 5 degrees with only a light sweater under it and was not even slightly cold. There are more technical jackets out there if you 're looking for backcountry skiing stuff but if you 're just looking for something to keep you warm around town, winter hiking, or sledding with your kids, you ca n't beat this. Also looks great and super comfortable.

The medium fits my 5'11 '' frame perfectly. Warmth is n't an issue. I 've worn the jacket with only a t shirt beneath, in windy, freezing temps, with no issue at all. Lots of handy pockets and a hood that works best with a hat worn beneath. Regarding rain. I 'm not going to wear the jacket for prolonged rain. But for showers or drizzle my unwaxed jacket works just fine. For the time being I 'm not going to wax it, as I like the way the jacket looks and I do n't want to change that. The jacket is a little big but I think that was my doing. I didn ’ t measure but usually get an xl as I like my clothes room to move in. I went with the xl. I ’ m 6 ’ 2 and 200lbs. Very warm as well. My old jacket is have to undo the thumb hooks every time I went to bind my boots in. This jacket I ’ ll have no problem.

Well worth the money purchasing but luckily I got mine on sale just before the temperatures dropped and bad weather in eastern Canada. Most times I do not layer but on super cold days I do have a layer beneath and so warm. Extremely breathable. I bought a small and I had room for layering, enjoy the 6 good size pockets, length, quality/workmanship and the warranty. I ’ ve not used in rain days yet but i am sure it will work just fine.

Amazing coat. I got this for Christmas. I wore it for an evening rugby game- minus 3 in the north of England and I was toastie warm. Looking forward to wearing it in Austria next month. I loved the fit too- I ’ m 6 foot and the length on the body and arms is absolutely spot on- a rare find!

Bought this parka and did a ton of research on other brands as well. I wanted the most bang for my buck and I feel that this parka had the best quality and features for the cost! I love how it isn ’ t super tight on your body and overstimulating with other layers. It fits really well with thick base layers or thin layers underneath and greta for both cold and mild temps. Very durable thus far!

I have a few bits of Fjallraven kit, including some I donated to others. Examples being the Skogso Padded, Vardag Lite Padded and this the Expedition Mid Winter. Such a piece of kit and so warm. Between this and the Skogso Padded Jacket I would happily recommend both. Looking forward to expanding my Fjallraven collection.

LOVE this jacket! I 'm 6' 2 and bought XL for extra movement and layering when snowboarding. Pros: The synthetic fill is the best I 've ever felt, I honestly thought it was down fill. I love that it stays warm and holds its lofty puffiness when in wet snow conditions. My other Sitka down jacket loses its loft quickly in the arms and back when I start perspiring from a morning of hiking or snowboarding. But's it's so soft a cozy. I often just wear a t- shirt or thin base layer under it if I 'm just staring around a camp fire. It's very warm and the hand and chin backings are super soft. Cons: My only complaint is that it does n't have a well placed hood draw string for windy conditions. The single draw string on the hood is more a retention string for side to side movement of your head. And the outer fabric is very delicate, I know its gon na snag and tear on a tree branch one of these days.... I personally wish it was a little bit thicker like on my wife's Expedition down jacket.

Just bought this jacket and love it. I went skiing this past weekend on a pretty warm day, 40- 50 degrees. Just a t shirt and the jacket kept me perfectly comfortable, so it ’s not too warm on its own. And I fell in the slushy snow many times and it kept me dry all day! Seems to run pretty big, I ’ m 6 ’ 2 ” 230lbs and it has long sleeves and lots of room for layering. That ’s what I was looking for so no complaints from me. Definitely happy with my purchase.

Second time I have bought this jacket. Fits well, durable, layerable, function over fashion, but it's pretty fashionable too. Pit zips are always a winner, can wear the hood over my Smith Vantage helmet and use the breathe through with no need for a neck up. If you do n't have one, you should be getting one ASAP!
