After receiving my coat, we had some downright frigid temperatures with high winds and my body never felt a thing! This coat is thin and light but do n't let that fool you! I have a little extra length in the arms, which I love because it is a rarity. I feel like I have just enough room that I could wear a crewneck underneath without problem, but it's not bulky without layers. And it's long enough that it covers my bottom! I 'm usually between a medium and a large and I would not size down for a medium in this jacket.

[ I could n't wait to wear this jacket once the weather got cooler in Texas. The weather can be bipolar very often, so if it's 35 degrees outside at the beginning of the day and hot later, I like the fact that I can carry a lightweight jacket around and stuff it in my backpack when I 'm not wearing it. Unlike some puff jackets, they can be very heavy and bulky. The jacket is ideal for 35+ degree weather or a little under if you layer well underneath. Also, keep in mind my 35- degree weather may feel warmer to others who live in areas that get lots of snow and wind. I have n't had the chance to wash it, but the material seems like it will hold up well in a normal wash cycle. I think I may have needed to go to a smaller size, I had plenty of space in the jacket zipped.

I ended up going with my normal size of XS after trying the XS and S. I 'm 5' 1 '' and 109 lbs for reference. The size small fit more oversized but the arm sleeve were slightly too long. If you 're between sizes, I would size up. My main concern was how cropped it might be and both jackets ended up hitting my waist at about the same spot so I went with the smaller size for the better arm and shoulder fit.

I LOVE this jacket. I do wish the hip area was more boxy and had a synch cord. It can be a bit tight on the hips even tough I sized up. I really like that the powder skirt is removable to get rib of the added bulk. I wish there was an outer chest pocket. The wrist cuffs are a bit bulky. As I was out shoveling, I discovered the designer winter coat I bought from a big department store was NOT waterproof. Unfortunately, I weigh 274, so finding a coat is n't easy. After researching, I decided to try this one even though it is over$ 300. It fits great( it is n't loose, but it is comfortable and I can sit with it zipped)! It also is not puffy, so there is no added bulk. The sleeves are nice in that they are not too short and I can tighten them at the wrist with the Velcro. I also love the chest pocket-- I put my phone in there and can listen to a podcast as I walk my dog. Well worth the money!

Well worth the money purchasing but luckily I got mine on sale just before the temperatures dropped and bad weather in eastern Canada. Most times I do not layer but on super cold days I do have a layer beneath and so warm. Extremely breathable.
