I could tell as soon as i received the hiking shorts this was a quality item. The organic cotton shorts are very soft with a little stretch to them. I love the color and design. The elastic waistband and drawstring in front helps to create a comfortable and secure fit. There are 2 large pockets in the front and 3 pockets in the back. There is a zippered pocket in bring the right back pocket to secure your valuables. The shorts are also UPF 50+ protection which iss big plus for me since i live in Florida. I 've been wearing for a few weeks. These are turning into my workout shorts. Have done done a few base training runs and they 're comfortable and feel great. I 'm not sure I would wear them on a really long run but did 90min run in them and they were great. Will use them for camping/ hiking/ swim combo this summer for sure. I travel quit a bit and wanted a pair of shorts that I could work out in, trail run, swim in, etc. Also wanted something that would dry quickly. These are great for that. I generally wear a shorter inseam specifically or trail running, but this inseam was a more modest and `` everyday comfortable '' approach. My favorite for trail runs and hikes. The length to mid knee is perfect. I sized one up because I like shorts with some room, but even so they have what I 'd call a `` normal '' fit. I do like the sized up fit though, very comfortable. The fabric has a nice texture, feels durable. The thigh pocket just barely fits my phone. The zippered back pockets were a good idea.

Excellent fit and cut. Maybe run a little tight in the waist and hips, slim through the leg. The new AP Active fabric is amazing. Its super soft, breathable, has great stretch. I am giving 4* because the front hip pockets are awkwardly short. I have a normal sized mobile phone and it wo n't fit in those pockets( or the rear pockets) vertically. Also, I wonder about the durability of the fabric long term. That being said, I am going to get another pair. I 'd buy even more if these were a tad heavier and with 5 pocket styling.
