After buying this I sold all my Rab, Montane, North Face etc jackets- this is better all round, warmer in the cold( totally wind resistant), more resistant to water, more breathable, tougher, it looks fantastic( always getting asked about it) and will probably last 20 years. It fits perfectly- though go a size down. Pockets are excellent esp the inside pocket, insulated hood works beautifully and still has room for a beanie if its really cold- only thing to note is there is no drawstring waist- presumably because of the down- but it doesnt impact anything. After buying this i bought the insulated Kiruna... hardest decision of the day is which one to put on...

I ordered both this jacket and the re- wool jacket. Both seem like nice, warm options for Wisconsin winters. I 'm 5'11 '' tall, 185 pounds. I 'm torso- tall, a bit of a rounded belly, with average shoulder width. This down jacket was ordered in size large, which is a bit too snug on me. The re- wool was purchased in size XL, which is perfect. Planning to return this down jacket and wait to see if the re- wool gets me through the winter. If I feel like I need a better water- resistant jacket, then I 'll consider buying this down coat in size XL. Again, seems like a great coat, solid quality, a nice hood, good sleeve length.

Fit: I am 5'11 and 190 pounds, wear XL for shirts and sweaters, but L for these types of jackets and the L fit me well in this one. Warmth: I have used it in up to- 10C and it has kept me warm at that temp with only a t- shirt below. Might be too warm for anything above 0C- 5C for me. If it can keep me warm up to- 20C with a thin layer underneath it will have good range. Style: looks very good. Amber is a bit darker than I expected, which is welcomed in my case. Does not look orange at all. Weight/design: it is very lightweight, and does not look puffy. Would have appreciated one or two pockets on the inside. Easy to move around in, so will be good for winter activities. Overall, highly recommend this if you are looking for a jacket to put between the times you need a full winter parka and your spring jacket, this will hold a good place in that spot as it does seem to be quite versatile temp wise. Third jacket in last 30 days. Needed this for the cleaner go out at night look. But the active jac and utility jacket. This one is a hit. Fits big, probably could have sized down. Warm rating of 2 but felt as warm as my 3's. Great look though and easy to move in.

[ I Love this jacket, I got to wear it to a rodeo and when it got filthy I took the outer layer and put it in the back of the truck and wore the inner layer and stayed clean the rest of the day. I can tell it ’s going to be warm enough for the E coast winter but what really blows my mi d is just how light it is. [ This jacket caught my eye because of its' bright colors and classic, yet uniquely new design. I love the bugaboo embroidery on the back as well. But the biggest selling point for me with this jacket is its' versatility. I am easily kept warm in New York winter with the full coat, but on days when it's milder, I love that I can easily just take off the blue outer shell and only use the inner piece-- which is also a great stand alone jacket. It fits true to size and looks like how it does on the website. I 'm 5' 3 '' and 135 lbs and bought a Medium and it fits great. Not oversized or too tight anywhere. But it is form fitting. So if you like a baggier look and feel, I 'd go up a size. The quality of material and the zippers is excellent, and it's really easy to put the jacket back together if you choose to separate the layers. The only things that would make this jacket better for me is if there was a hood for the rain/snow, although the high neck helps a lot. Aside from that I wish the zippers did n't zip from the bottom up in case something falls out; but to be fair, nothing has fallen out before.

I bought this for my husband, the pickiest man on the planet when it comes to jackets and flannels. This Pinchot jacket is his new go to. Literally, has n't worn anything else since he got it. It's warm without being bulky and he can wear it with a t- shirt or a sweater underneath. When it gets colder he can use as a base layer. Great purchase!

Love this jacket's simple, effective design. It works well as a spring or summer shell and the waxed fabric does an excellent job at keeping the wind and rain out even though it's not rated as waterproof. In the fall and early phases of winter I 'll wear a down mid layer to insulate my body heat and throw this guy over to protect from the elements. I get so much wear out of this jacket I might have to pick up another color!

This was the first ever jacket I 've bought from this company and I loved it right off the bat. It has a sleek and stylish look and serves for multiple seasons. As for water resistance, its ok at repelling water so it's worth getting the Greenland wax that they sell and add a few more coats especially over the seams to ensure before your adventures. But Overall the sten jacket is an excellent piece to have in your closet for adventures and even general use!

[ I was looking for a breathable jacket to use in windy Ohio spring and fall weather when it is too warm for a thick cotton hoodie. The Sten jacket is exactly what I wanted. It weighs the same as my old flimsy nylon windbreaker but feels much more durable. The pockets and details are well thought out, and the two way zipper and bottom hem snap allow for as much ventilation as needed. It is NOT waterproof, but the fabric dries quickly and can be treated with Greenland wax to make it more water repellent.
