Great design. This is a perfect shirt- jac to wear over a hoodie, probably the best I have come across. It is a lighter weight denim, so allows flexibility and movement with the hoodie. The size is perfect for it, so this is probably too roomy if you do n't wear it over something. Ca n't have it both ways. The denim is a classic indigo blue, and the interior chest pocket is handy. The sleeve lining is smart being nylon makes it easy to put on and off. My only complaint is that the interior fleece is styled to look like the old blanket lining. Boy do I miss that original Carhartt blanket lining, might have been a little scratchy but was far more durable than fleece will ever be. I 'd expect this fleece lightweight lining to sag in the years ahead, but it is too soon to tell. There are n't many clothes that hold up like Carhartt so I 'm optimistic!

[ This is a great hunting jacket. I wanted an tough outside lawyer to withstand the thicket, block wind and rain, and allow me to wear layers. This is perfect for that purpose. Also, I 've read a few reviews about how some do not like how the zipper goes up too high, but that really is n't a problem. In fact, I 'm heavy wind or extremely cold weather, I see it as a plus because you can close up more, but if it is uncomfortable just do n't zip all the way way up( common sense).

This jacket is an addition to the three other various Carhartts that I have hanging in my coat closet. I was needing something on the lighter side this time for doing some e- bike trail riding around metro Detroit and also something to match the camo paint scheme on my fat tire. This jacket's Moss color turned out being about as close to U. S. Army `` mean green '' as you could hope to get and I also really like the high zip neck and velcro adjustable sleeves. The fit was perfect too, as always. Since I have the sincere `` need for speed '', I was also duly impressed with how warm it was against the Spring windchill temps. I paired this jacket up also with some Carhartt fingerless gloves which is another story but the combo has worked out exceedingly well for riding. After all the accolades though, what stands out the most about this brand to me is that it was born in the City of Detroit for the tough, honest, hardworking man and wearing it, to quote Doc Holiday, kind of reminds me of me.

Love this jacket's simple, effective design. It works well as a spring or summer shell and the waxed fabric does an excellent job at keeping the wind and rain out even though it's not rated as waterproof. In the fall and early phases of winter I 'll wear a down mid layer to insulate my body heat and throw this guy over to protect from the elements. I get so much wear out of this jacket I might have to pick up another color!

As for water resistance, its ok at repelling water so it's worth getting the Greenland wax that they sell and add a few more coats especially over the seams to ensure before your adventures. [ I was looking for a breathable jacket to use in windy Ohio spring and fall weather when it is too warm for a thick cotton hoodie. The Sten jacket is exactly what I wanted. It weighs the same as my old flimsy nylon windbreaker but feels much more durable. The pockets and details are well thought out, and the two way zipper and bottom hem snap allow for as much ventilation as needed. It is NOT waterproof, but the fabric dries quickly and can be treated with Greenland wax to make it more water repellent.

This is a serious raincoat. The material is thick and sturdy, I like the brim on the hood and the heavy duty zippers. I like all the pockets( inside and out), the double cuffs( it has elastic cuffs inside the coat's outer cuffs- which I thought was a great idea), and the funnel neck collar. I 've spent more than this on a rain coat from a high- end outdoor company for a trip to the Pacific Northwest and it was a total fail. I have every confidence that had I had this raincoat for that trip, I would have had no problems. I 've been reading a lot of newer Carhartt reviews that complain that Carhartt is moving more towards fashionable clothes rather than durable clothes that perform- I 'm happy to report that this is NOT one of those pieces. It's a great quality coat that I am confident will last me for several years and keep me dry in the mightiest downpour. As to sizing: I typically wear a medium in Carhartt's women's tops and a medium or large in general clothing, depending on the cut. I wandered into the men's section for this one because I liked the color selection better on this side of the room( the olive/moss green color is really nice.) So, to any of the ladies out there who may be reading this: this is a men's coat- it IS boxy coat. I 'm keeping the medium because I 'm leaving for a trip in three days and I need a raincoat, but if I had the luxury of time, I would probably exchange it for a men's small. It's not egregiously large, maybe just 50% larger than I would normally wear. As it is, there's plenty of room for layers underneath and the arms are quite large, and has ample room in the shoulder. But it's a men's coat. So... that's to be expected. I think it will last me for years and years. I 'm very happy with it!

The color “ Amber ” is more of a nice Autumnal rust color than orange. It looks really nice with the black accents. The chest pocket is super roomy and easy to access. Fit: I am 5'11 and 190 pounds, wear XL for shirts and sweaters, but L for these types of jackets and the L fit me well in this one. Warmth: I have used it in up to- 10C and it has kept me warm at that temp with only a t- shirt below. Might be too warm for anything above 0C- 5C for me. If it can keep me warm up to- 20C with a thin layer underneath it will have good range. Style: looks very good. Amber is a bit darker than I expected, which is welcomed in my case. Does not look orange at all. Weight/design: it is very lightweight, and does not look puffy. Would have appreciated one or two pockets on the inside. Easy to move around in, so will be good for winter activities. Overall, highly recommend this if you are looking for a jacket to put between the times you need a full winter parka and your spring jacket, this will hold a good place in that spot as it does seem to be quite versatile temp wise. I get a feeling it will also reduce my use of the full winter parka by a bit.
