I 'm normally a women's size 9 and prefer some extra width in the toe area. The 9s in these were swimming on me-- definitely not too narrow, either. Will try an 8 and report back. I have a pair of tall xtratufs that have lasted almost 20 years, but the size has worn off, so I had to guess with these. everything else seems nice. I got these boots as a gift and they are certainly the best! I am a typical size 6 and the 6 fit perfectly. I did add some extra support for my bad feet, but they are comfortable on their own. I wore them everyday for 5+ hours at a horse farm, mucking out, and stepping in things most certain to ruin them. These had hard use and never cracked or got a hole where a lot of rubber boots do near the toes. The color stayed bright and were easy to clean after a day in mud. I love the ankle height so your legs are n't sweating like taller boots. Honestly the perfect boots, will definitely buy again or will buy another pair for just rainy days and not for stinky farm work!

I usually wear an 8 and these fit perfect true to size. They are like pillows on your feet. There is no arch support inside the boot so if you need that you might want to add your own inserts. I bought these beginning 2025 and main complaint I read was hard to determine on due to narrow opening. I have a skinny foot and hold on to both loops to slip on shoe. I could see if you have a thick or wide foot you may have issues getting it on but once you get into the boot it is not right. Easy to get off. I know these were designed for deck shoes on a boat and I could see they have a bottom created for that. If you walk on snow or frozen surfaces they are NOT good for that at all. I almost fell on my toosh walking on these on hard frozen surfaces. Rubber gets hard on the bottom and traction is not built for that. I walked down a muddy bank and slid all the way down to the creek due to no traction on the bottom. I love the boots for walking my dog and fishing in our boat. The cushion is awesome. They do hold stains if you get in red dirt. You need to wash them off immediately or they hold the stain. In general for some reason the cushiony material sucks up grime and they are hard to keep looking good even after scrubbing they need to add something to the cushion part of boot to block the grime. I bought the purplish swirl boot color.

This is my third pair of Xtratuf boots, I have a tall pair and a regular deck boot pair--- I 've been wearing them for at least 5 years. The boots I have are great but not the warmest and I 've always wished I could find a warm Xtratuf boots. Well these boots are IT! With a midweight wool sock, these boots kept my feet warm when it was pretty dang cold. And I love the color scheme, girly without looking unserious. I 'm surprised no one has reviewed these yet but everyone deserves to know, these are great boots!

Recommend sizing down if 1/2 size- I 'm a solid 7. 5 with wide forefoot and went for 7, perfect fit even with thicker socks, never pinches through the forefoot and toe( always an issue for me). Also love the rubber wedge on ankle exterior, for kicking off using toe of other boot without wearing down the heel seam.

Bought these since I moved from AK over to the east coast. Wanted something lighter and a bit more breathable than the womens legacy boots. I wore these everywhere. Gardening, hiking, walking the dog 3+miles a day, to work, doing errands, slipping them on in the early morning to pick up dog poop. These were easy to slip on and off. My feet stayed dry. In the dead of summer, they can get a bit hot. My regular running shoes are even hot! but overall my feet did not overheat. The shoes had great traction. It's been about a year and they are still great. I may have worn down the soles from so much use. My only con is: the foot cushions might stick to your bare feet if you do n't wear socks.

I 've worn them in snow, rain, and hail and can say they 're definitely waterproof! I work outdoors and walk tens of thousands of steps every day in every possible type of weather. I 've tried boots from several other brands/stores, and finally, after hearing me repeatedly complain about said failed footwear, my brother recommended Merrell. I 've only been wearing them for a few weeks, and while my feet have been delightfully dry( yes, they 're 100% waterproof even in standing water), I 'm wary about whether or not they will last as another brand or two also managed to keep themselves together for a few short months before disintegrating miserably and proving themselves not worth my money. So, while I 'm cautiously optimistic that my Merrells will outlast their competitors, I can confidently say that these are unequivocally the most lightweight, comfy and waterproof boot I have tried. Did n't even give me blisters as they broke in! All around, I 'm in love with the boots and am just desperately hoping their longevity is as impressive as their first impression.

The fit is nice because it allows for a thicker sock, but I did order my usual size. The sole has a noticeable cushion, which I like. There is a low pile/fleece lining that feels good! [ I 've been looking for an alternative to my Xtratuffs and came across these. The comfort on the midsole is what I was really looking forward too. Long days on my feet on a 10+ hour workday means I need all the comfort I can get and so far these shoes have met my expectations. So far the outer water protection layer is holding up. The only downside I 've found so far is the opening to the shoe is narrow and I have to wear long socks or pants that come down to protect my shins from all the rubbing and hitting from walking.

I was thinking about getting XtraTuf boots for a long time but never had any reason to until I started needing a waterproof boot that wasn ’ t a full tall winter boot. I ’ m glad I got them. They aren ’ t breathable( as I expected) due to the waterproofing of the boot, but the fact that they are short boots helps them breathe a little more than a tall boot. They are very comfortable and I have even wore them for short hikes because I decided not to change my shoes. They have quickly became my everyday winter shoe/boot. I love the purple color, it is so fun, but when mud splashed on them it stays visible until you wash it off. The one time I did scrub them off they did clean up relatively nicely, but if you want an easier maintenance boot, I would get a darker color.
