I was looking for an alternative to wearing my regular golf shoes because I hurt my big toe and it was very sensitive to the touch. As I combed the internet, I came across Tommy Bahama's OluKai Ulele Golf Sandals. I was skeptical at first, but since I 'm a Tommy Bahama guy, I knew they were going to be top quality. And I already had a couple of great OluKai sandals. So, I figured I could always return them if they were going to work for me. I was particularly concerned that the sandals only came in even sizes( e. g., 8, 9, etc.), and I wear a size 8- 1/2 E. So, I had to make a choice and chose the smaller 8 because I figured they need a be a bit tight to play golf anyways. I had buy then without seeing them or trying them on because none of stores in Orange County, CA have them in stock. This is not my normal practice when buy clothing- and especially shoes because of my sensitive feet. I ordered online and the sandals were shipped to me in time me to wear them at a charity golf tournament. When I saw them, I loved the color combo and the design and knew I was keeping them even if they did n't work out on the golf course. When I tried them on for the first time, they felt a bit snug, so I was worried that wearing them for 4+ hours of golf may not work. Plus I was worried that the golf club would n't allow them to be worn( dress code issue). So, I brought along my regular golf shoes just in case. To cut to the chase, the OluKai's were not only perfect playing in, everyone asked me about them and remarked how great they looked. When I told them they were golf sandals, none believed me. My golfing buddies said they had OluKai sandals that looked like the ones I was wearing, but would n't think of playing golf in them... until I showed them the soles. I too was initially skeptical that they would hold on grass. Well, they did well even in some areas of the course where the grass was wet. The only problem I had was hitting out sand traps. I had to shake out the sand off the sandals... which worked psycologically to say to myself `` avoid hitting into sand traps. '' By the end of the day, my feed back is that: 1) they look great( so I find myself wearing them all the time); 2) great fit( although I still wish they came in odd sizes); 3) comfortable to wear all day for golf and afterward as well( I kept them on to attend the awards banquet and drove home in them); 4) they actually work as an alternative to traditional golf shoes( these sandals are going with me when I go to Hawaii); and 5) the quality of OluKai is clear in the materials and the way the sandals are constructed( the price point is perfect for Tommy Bahama customers). Lastly, I think there are going to be a lot more sold when the word gets out, so start thinking about adding more color choices and a line for women.

Great Sandler! Olukai are the best by far, I have several pairs. This pair has great traction although I would never wear them on the golf course..
