They ’ re sturdy, and they ’ re comfy right out of the box( no break in needed). If you have wide feet and/or bunions, these are worth a try! I will say that the heel may be a bit loose if your heel is narrow, but no issues so far for me. I ’ ve already taken them out for some cold weather backpacking and longer trail days, and they ’ re holding up well, no foot pain at the end of the day or anything.

Since these shoes are nearly white you can see that some dirt has stayed in the crease on the forefooot even after being hosed off.( Again, no water got inside.) Fit wise, these have a neutral insole, roomier toebox, and wider heel. To keep my foot from sliding forward and to have a better fit for my heel I will add Superfeet insoles. This shoe runs true to size so I went up 1/2 a size to allow for swelling on longer and hot hikes. Nice shoe. I look forward to seeing how it feels after putting more miles on it.

These are an awesome sneaker. I love a slip on shoe and these allow you to have a slip on style shoe but still feel nice and snug with their lacing system. The padding around the ankle and heel is SO soft and comfortable. It feels like a tempur- pedic pillow for your foot/ankle. These are great for a trail but also just for normal walks or going around town. My only recommendation for improvement would be that the end of the laces/string bounces around a bit while you are walking. I have just been tucking them back under the laces to fix this but would be nice if there was something on the shoe that could do this for me. Either way, awesome shoe!

I was in the market for a no lace, low cut outdoor shoe. This Merrell shoe is comfortable and true to size. It is said to be waterproof, but I have not been able to test that out yet. I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.
