This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I 've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you ca n't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and do n't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. [ I have had several pairs of these and will keep buying them as long as they are available. I use them for everything from hiking and fishing to farm work, roofing and all types of construction. I even have a pair I wear for casual outings. The shoe overall is well build with solid traction. They are sneaker comfortable out of the box but I do wish they had slightly more arch support. [ I live in Vermont where there are many dirt roads. My daily walk is so much more comfortable with these shoes now. Lots of grip on gravel roads, nice wide toe box and very comfortable in the heels.

[ This Keen Targhee Apex is a comfortable shoe! One of the first things I noticed is how quiet the outsole and midsole were when walking around the store on carpet and cement. They 've since been on a dusty hike and a rainy road- to- trail hike. Nice cushioning, stability, and no dust nor water got inside the shoes. Since these shoes are nearly white you can see that some dirt has stayed in the crease on the forefooot even after being hosed off.( Again, no water got inside.) Fit wise, these have a neutral insole, roomier toebox, and wider heel. To keep my foot from sliding forward and to have a better fit for my heel I will add Superfeet insoles. This shoe runs true to size so I went up 1/2 a size to allow for swelling on longer and hot hikes. Nice shoe. I look forward to seeing how it feels after putting more miles on it.

This was my first pair of hikers. I love Keen shoes, so decided to try the Targhee Apex in the Abby stone/birch color. They were on sale for 25 percent off, which was a good price. They are light weight and cute, not clunky looking. The color is cute and not something everyone is wearing. However, I have a lazy baby toe, so need a little more room in the toe box. Unfortunately, I will have to send them back because of this.

The waterproofing is great for the slushy winters we get here in the Midwest. I typically wear a 2E shoe, so I was pleasantly surprised when this fit well as a 10. 5M. Took about a week to break in, and once broken in, feels great. The traction is awesome, no worries about slipping on the ice. The shoe makes it easier than a boot to take on and off, but I 'd use a boot to shovel the driveway or walk through heavy/deep snow. This is good for walking on icy roads and driveways. I 'm a big fan of Keen's pragmatic sense of style. The toe cap means I do n't have fear of stubbing my toe. Also, it's a great feature when you kick the tire wells of your car to get the disgusting snow that accumulates that after driving for a while and you wonder if removing this snow actually makes a difference performance wise.( But once it drops it feels satisfying like you actually fixed the car.)

[ Great hiking shoe. Very solid insole that chushions my step without filling squishy. Just the right amount of traction that has good grip on rocks, but not too much traction where it feels like you are walking in soccer cleats.

[ So far I like the shoe. I 'm lazy and do n't tie laces, so I like a shoe that keeps its shape and slips in easily. These are comfortable and break in quickly just like all my other Keen's. Will probably buy another pair before these get discontinued like all my other favorite Keens.

I was in the market for a no lace, low cut outdoor shoe. This Merrell shoe is comfortable and true to size. It is said to be waterproof, but I have not been able to test that out yet. Build quality appears to be excellent. I like the ease of putting on the shoe. The bottom tread is an upgrade to my older Merrell shoes of a similar style.
