I 've been trying to find good 'intermediate' boots for snowshoeing for over a year. I bought several pairs and returned them all. These are exactly what I was looking for. They are waterproof, warm, and have stiff enough uppers for cinching down snowshoe bindings. They also have great tread and decent edging ability on hard, steep snow when not using snowshoes. [ This Keen Targhee Apex is a comfortable shoe! One of the first things I noticed is how quiet the outsole and midsole were when walking around the store on carpet and cement. They 've since been on a dusty hike and a rainy road- to- trail hike. Nice cushioning, stability, and no dust nor water got inside the shoes. Since these shoes are nearly white you can see that some dirt has stayed in the crease on the forefooot even after being hosed off.( Again, no water got inside.) Fit wise, these have a neutral insole, roomier toebox, and wider heel. To keep my foot from sliding forward and to have a better fit for my heel I will add Superfeet insoles. This shoe runs true to size so I went up 1/2 a size to allow for swelling on longer and hot hikes. Nice shoe. I look forward to seeing how it feels after putting more miles on it.

Having put a few mountain miles on my new Women's Hightail Waterproof Hiking shoes, I can report back that they are very comfortable, true to size and have great traction. Also, I have wide feet and the fit is fine. I have n't really put the waterproof aspect to the test but my feet did stay dry through some shallow puddles. I will take them traveling and hiking in Ireland with confidence this fall.

[ These are the most comfortable hiking shoes I have ever worn. They are durable and keep your feet dry. The traction is amazing as you can walk in the rain and not lose traction as well as walk on rocks and still keep traction. The fit is accurate as well. I am a 7- 7. 5 and ordered a 7. 5 and it fits great especially with thicker socks.

I 've taken these boots on multiple 10+ mile hikes now and can say I absolutely love them. They 're very comfortable in steep terrain or for long scrambles. I 've worn them in snow, rain, and hail and can say they 're definitely waterproof! I work outdoors and walk tens of thousands of steps every day in every possible type of weather. I 've tried boots from several other brands/stores, and finally, after hearing me repeatedly complain about said failed footwear, my brother recommended Merrell. I 've only been wearing them for a few weeks, and while my feet have been delightfully dry( yes, they 're 100% waterproof even in standing water), I 'm wary about whether or not they will last as another brand or two also managed to keep themselves together for a few short months before disintegrating miserably and proving themselves not worth my money. So, while I 'm cautiously optimistic that my Merrells will outlast their competitors, I can confidently say that these are unequivocally the most lightweight, comfy and waterproof boot I have tried. Did n't even give me blisters as they broke in! All around, I 'm in love with the boots and am just desperately hoping their longevity is as impressive as their first impression.

An immediate good fit, easy to lace, ample toe box for my older feet, love the tab on the back to help pull them on, and waterproof! I usually wear Keen sandals because of their wide toe box and my previous bunions, so a tie sneaker was not my first choice. However, I am traveling to an area where I needed comfortable but waterproof shoes. These are really comfortable and I was very pleasantly surprised. Great grip on the bottom, which I need for walking on boat decks. They have a nice low profile so I do n't feel like I am wearing blocks on my feet. I bought the aluminum color- I wondered if it would be too light- colored for outdoors activities, but it's actually a little darker than beige- very nice looking. Size wise, I 'd say it tends to be a little snug, especially with socks, so I ordered a half size larger and it's perfect with socks. I have n't checked the waterproofness, but fingers crossed. Great shoe- well worth the money!

Right out of the box, these babies took me from Santa Barbara, Ventura, half moon bay birding. From there, we went from the Sierra Nevada mountains to Nevada for more birding. Then, we drove across Nevada and southern Wyoming for more birding. We are in our seventies and hiked anywhere from 3 to 5 miles for each stop. Last leg of the drive we went through Utah and Colorado and more birding. 10 days…these were the only shoes I wore! Great product!!!!
