I ’ ve had these boots a month and so far they are great. Keep my feet dry and after a short break in period they are comfortable. There is a seam in the heel that if you tighten the laces too tight it will rub but I figured out I didn ’ t need the laces that tight. Overall a quality pair of boots.

This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I 've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you ca n't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and do n't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. [ I have had several pairs of these and will keep buying them as long as they are available. I use them for everything from hiking and fishing to farm work, roofing and all types of construction. I even have a pair I wear for casual outings. I do n't think they are intended for the abuse I put them through, but they hold up pretty well and most importantly, I never think of my feet hurting while I 'm wearing them, even after long, exhausting days. Columbia is by far my favorite brand of hiking boots/shoes because they always just fit me really well, and this boot is no exception. The Newton Wander is a good looking and comfortable hiking boot. I do n't feel like it needed any break in period, and I wore mine as my daily drivers until the arches were shot. I always left them tied, but could get them on and off quickly by looping the laces on and off of the top couple sets of hooks. Even after they were worn out and the soles were worn down, I kept them around and wore them a couple more times to do some landscaping work and rebuild a retaining wall in my back yard. They can really take a beating!

[ I was finally happy to see a wide light weight hiker from Keen. For awhile most of their light weight hikers never came in wide, so this is very welcome. The shoe overall is well build with solid traction. They are sneaker comfortable out of the box but I do wish they had slightly more arch support. The lack of arch support was solved by using a Keen foot insert, the k- 10. Tons of room the toe box too.

I have a hiking/trekking shoe problem( name the brand, I might have 2 pair), and if I had to pick only ONE, to wear every day.. doing every thing.. for eternity... it's got to be this one. Sizing: I 'm an 11. 82, medium. I have the greys size 12 here. Great fit, there 'd be extra room if needed. Toe box remains roomy due to lacing grid, but it's welcomed. Nothing thicker socks/insoles ca n't fix of course if it pleases you. Closest thing to a barefoot shoe that I 've put on and liked. They call this a barefoot and I wo n't put up a fight, but they seem pretty tall( FOR a bf shoe). In any case, it's close, and I do love the grounded feel, but only because the tread is so supportive. Ya know how most shoes are either very technical, or, `` go straight! '' etc etc? These, you 're just kind of, surfing B) What's the Catch?... 1) I 'm aware of some longevity concerns w/ tread, but I 'd imagine the give- or- take goes to the shoe FTW- anything reasonable would be worth it b/c the shoe is that great. 2) I 'd be lying if I was n't a bit concerned about the construction of the eyelets- they give the impression that too many tough yanks will make them angry. Worst case, you can craft some metal loops into the shoes, and gives you a reason to visit w/ your local tailor and share stories:)

Maybe the perfect hiking shoe. Solid waterproof construction for dry feet on those muddy days. The sole has that minimal feel that allows you to be aware of your footing, but not so minimal to lack giving feet the protection they need. Great traction of rocks, down trees, sand, just about everything I ’ ve trudged them through. Overall a great design. Only qualm is that the sole began to separate from the rest of the shoe a little before it really should have, but I partially blame the wet/rocky unforgiving terrain I usually hike in. Nothing a little super glue couldn ’ t fix.( Maybe something to revisit in a next generation design)

I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.

Great shoes. No break in period. I took them to Scotland for my honeymoon. Hiked up Ben Nevis when it was pouring rain, feet stayed warm and dry. My only recommendation is to buy more than one pair to make sure they do n't have any weird crease points or hot spots. I had to get 3 pairs in order to find one pair that did n't have hot spots on my pinky toe( weird creasing on the toes). All in all, I would recommend these shoes.

It ’s hard enough for me to find shoes that fit( Size 17), but these not only had my size in stock, but they fit well on me right out of the box. Not too heavy, and the waterproofing has worked well so far in my three months of ownership. I would recommend sizing up if you have wider feet, but outside of that small issue the boots are a winner in my book.

I 've bought these Keen Targhee boots for several years. My latest pair arrived in mid April in the middle of a northern Wisconsin spring storm with rain, snow, sleet, and hail, all at the same time. None the less it was time to walk the dogs, so I put on my new boots, and spent 3 hours out in the storm with my dogs. The boots stood the test, keeping my feet warm and dry. I 've taken these boots on multiple 10+ mile hikes now and can say I absolutely love them. They 're very comfortable in steep terrain or for long scrambles. I 've worn them in snow, rain, and hail and can say they 're definitely waterproof! Everyone is different when it comes to boots but Ive had Merrell hiking shoes and sandals and I know Merrells fit my feet well. These boots were no exception.

I work outdoors and walk tens of thousands of steps every day in every possible type of weather. I 've tried boots from several other brands/stores, and finally, after hearing me repeatedly complain about said failed footwear, my brother recommended Merrell. I 've only been wearing them for a few weeks, and while my feet have been delightfully dry( yes, they 're 100% waterproof even in standing water), I 'm wary about whether or not they will last as another brand or two also managed to keep themselves together for a few short months before disintegrating miserably and proving themselves not worth my money. So, while I 'm cautiously optimistic that my Merrells will outlast their competitors, I can confidently say that these are unequivocally the most lightweight, comfy and waterproof boot I have tried. Did n't even give me blisters as they broke in! All around, I 'm in love with the boots and am just desperately hoping their longevity is as impressive as their first impression.

I bought my second pair of these approximately a month ago. My last pair I used to backpack the Himalayas twice, Colorado, North Carolina and North Georgia. I also used them as my go to hunting boot as well. They 're heavy duty and it taken care of will last for years and years. I brought the leather back to life on mine using mink oil several times. They look good with a pair of jeans as well and make a great statement when worn in. I hated to let my other pair go and buy another pair but they served me well for over a decade. I love these boots and they are perfect when broken in.
