This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I 've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you ca n't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and do n't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. Had the normal one full day break- in period. This is my third pair and I keep coming back for them. They are rugged and durable and last a little over a year when used roughly for hiking, trail running and slogging through the mud. I compete with these a lot because they keep the water out( unless I go in the streams) and they hold up really well. The soles start to get thinner after 1. 5 years but I have n't found any others that hold up any better and still stay together like these Moab 3's.

I replace my boots annually—not because they wear out or break down, but simply because I love the feel of new boots. When I first purchase a new pair, they become my work boots, while the older ones transition into hiking boots, allowing them time to break in naturally. After about six months, I begin using the newer boots for hiking, always carrying an extra pair in my pack in case I need to swap them out—usually due to an issue like water getting inside. Let me emphasize that under normal conditions, these boots do not get wet inside. However, if fully submerged underwater—which I have done on several occasions—they will absorb moisture. When this happens, I hang the wet boot on the outside of my pack to dry while I continue my journey. I can confidently say that Salomon makes outstanding boots. They have been an essential part of my adventures, and I highly recommend them. Great boots, great company, and great experiences with Salomon!

The SFB is the bomb- totally fits the bill. It has a wide platform, is supportive but flexible once worn a couple of times and it's easy to clean. I have had some trouble with the rear of the shoe wearing out, and they are 'slick' before you wear them in, but these are minor things.

This shoe softened the impact on my low back and foot pads, yet was sturdy for the uneven trail. We hiked through snow, rivers, mud and my feet remained dry. The soles gripped every rock and slippery root. My Peakfreaks kept me upright while others were slipping and losing traction. Oh, and no blisters and no break- in necessary. The only recommendation is to order 1/2 size up. I ’ m a true 9 1/2 and my toes were a bit crammed. I bought a size 10 and it fit perfectly.

Have been wearing Targhee xx's for quite a few years. Obviously, they have worked great for me, and now my wife has a pair. I wear them year- around, on snow, ice, wet leaves, steep hillsides.... They are functionally waterproof- I wear low- profile `` walking shoes ''- not for serious stream crossing, but fine for tall wet crass ''. Only problem has been delamination and eventually leaking. Will see how the model for IV performs- just bought 3 pairs.
