Light weight, feels like it ’s not there while running. This is how every running pack should be

5 Denis I.
A very multifunctional backpack. Very light. My height is 184 cm, I need to get used to putting it on and taking it off, I would take a little more volume for myself. Not considering my size preferences, this is a great backpack.

5 Scofield W.
I thought it would be a great summit backpack for snow mountain adventures, extremely lightweight, and suitable for carrying an ice axe. It would be even better if it included a waist strap. Very suitable for packing into a large backpack. Currently trying it for short- distance day hikes, very satisfied.

5 JONAH N.
You can go to war with this thing. They say it ’s an ultra pack, but it is also the most comfortable pack I ’ ve ever used for MTB ’ ing. As far as how much stuff it stores, it hits way above its weight! You can pack this thing to the gills. It ’s also surprisingly water tight! I ’ ve carried this in downpours only to find my stuff perfectly dry. For light packs w/o frames, I will never buy a different pack for the rest of my life. I now own a distance 8 and 12 because they are so great.

5 yang J.
I wanted a light bag. So I do n't regret my choice. It's light and has good storage. It will be useful when hiking. This bag is very famous. There's a reason why it's loved so much. I 'll find out by using this bag.

[ I bought this pack not too long ago and have only taken it out once, but I have no complaints so far. The material and build quality seem to be durable. In my pack I can fit my shoes( on the outside), harness, a 70m rope, belay devices, anchor materials, and a helmet with some room to spare. I can also put smaller items( keys and phone) in the large brain on top of the pack. I would assume if you fully optimized space, you could additionally put clothes on the bottom of your pack or add draws. I also love how this pack can transfer the weight onto your hips and really support whatever you packed. Overall, I 'm really happy with my purchase!

5 Jcc3839
[ Had this crag bag for a couple weeks now. Roomy. Holds my 60 m rope, QuickDraws, water and lunch. Especially like the mesh pocket on the outside for shoes and lid bag for phone, snacks and even a small zippered pocket for keys/wallet. Nothings getting lost at the crag. We ’ ll balanced with the rope in the bottom and waist belt on. Makes those treks to the crag less daunting.

5 Jeff
[ A simple, rock- centric piece of equipment. The size is perfect for a day of cragging or multi pitch routes. The shape and design make it super easy to load and unload. It's streamlined without all the fussy straps and buckles that typically get hung up in tight approaches or hauling. No ice axe loops either, this is a pure rock pack. I like that the main compartment is accessed with only one top zipper... there's no reason to have a zillion ways to get inside a 40L bag. I can load it with a large rack and webbing, a rope, water bottle and jacket with room to spare. It feels solid on my back, and carries great. The top compartment is roomy, and also accessible with a single zipper, and there is a realistically- sized zippered pocket for iPhone and/or keys. The waterproof outer material seems bomber, and built like a tank, except for the webbing strap on the waist belt which seems a bit thin, but no big deal. The waist belt itself is sturdy enough and includes small gear loops on each hip. The included mini tarp is a thoughtful touch, though I personally wish it were larger. Outside mesh pockets for shoes and chalk bag are a nice convenience. There are other similar packs out there, but this one was a big bang for the buck. Lastly, it's cool looking, I get compliments all the time.

5 Zach
[ I ’ ve had this for a few weeks now. I love that it fits my 60m rope, draws, three pairs of shoes, harness, and any other misc gear. Very comfortable with the waist straps. They really transfer the load from your shoulders to your hips. I haven ’ t used it outside to test durability yet. Love the shoe pouch as well. Good features, large, comfortable, and great price.

4 Steve
[ My old crag pack which had survived 10 years of hard use, multiple trips through the desert and a bear attack in the Adirondacks was finally in need of replacement. I ordered one of these and it seems really nice but the new “ one size ” is useless if you ’ re less than 5 ’ 8 ”. I had to return it.

5 Shauna
[ A tad large for my 60m rope but honestly no real complaints. Good bag for the cost! Rope fits in, rolls up nicely, keeps the rope clean and stores away.

5 Woopwoop
[ Great price and fits my needs for my gym rope. Saves me time and now I can get more routes in per session! Rolls up nicely and keeps my gym bag organized.

5 Jblack4
[ I love it, I bought it with the intention of pairing with my other metollious rope bag so I could carry 2 ropes inside it without them getting tangled. Works great for that, it also works great to throw on top of my pack and avoid tangles. Definitely recommend it.

5 Bob dobbs
[ Exactly what I expected at a reasonable price. There are a lot of rope management hacks/cheap solutions, but this is a fairly inexpensive way to do the job well if the shelf.

Actually such a great rope bag! It has all the features you want with none of the extra things you do n't want. Super easy to lay out, and then wrap up into a bundle and throw onto your shoulder with the strap. Highly recommend!

5 Bryan S.
Keeps your lifeline out of the dirt. Durable and well made. There ’s room for different size rope and even enough room for shoes, chalk bag and some draws for those quick sport routes off the road.

5 Christopher M.
I love it, the tarp keeps my rope clean and makes it easy to put the rope away.

5 Jared S.
Simple, dependable rope bag. Good quality, makes rope management super easy.

5 Rob S.
This is a great idea and awesome rope bag and tarp system. Got my main 70m in there and got plenty of room. Keeps dirt off easily and pack to next crag wall easily.

5 chrisleegraham
[ I was looking for a crag bag that could also be used to haul gear on a 2 day big wall. The Quarter Dome rides the fine line I was looking for between massive and agile handling. I can fit all my trad/aid gear inside and have a little extra room.

5 Dominic
[ as my climbing knowledge and direction continues to improve, I required to purchase a larger more practical store for all my climbing gear. The Metolius Quarterdome is generous in space allowing for storage packs if required, its weight is tolerable for its size. I had searched for a relatively practical sized bag whereby the Quarterdome was the correct fitment for my needs. Metolius make larger and smaller sizes in similar to the Quarterdome and will cater for any required service need. I 'm certain this bag will be in continuous use and look forward with excitement to be part of this amazing beautiful sport of climbing

5 Harris
[ I bought this bag a few weeks ago and have been able to take it to a few crag sessions. So far, the bag has performed great! I have been able to fit all of my gear, rope, water, clothes and lunch with ease. Solid outer construction looks like it will stand up to a beating but have not been able to test that yet. A nice feature is that it stands upright independently which makes loading it easier. The shoulder straps and waist strap are also pretty confortable, more so than I was expecting for the type of bag this is. Not quite as comfortable as my backpacking pack, but I would n't expect this from the collapsible and stowable straps. Overall, I am very happy with this bag and would recommend it to someone looking for a good crag bag. Probably a little small for a big wall but honestly have not tried it for that.

4 VictorK
[ I bought this bag a month ago and basically have been using it to pack all of my camping/ climbing gear since I got it. It hauls pretty well on steep terrain but can be strenuous on less vertical rock. Definitely would recommend to help get you out there and have everything you need.

5 Ryder
[ I switched from a old college backpack after I acquired too much gear… This bag is 1000% worth the price. The duffle style opening makes it extremely accessible all day while you ’ re at the crags

5 Dodo
[ Overall, this backpack is great. It fits an 80m rope, two helmets, plenty of quickdraws, shoes, harness and more( although its a tight fit with all of those things). The backpack design is good, and i like that the front of the backpack is what touches the ground, not the side that goes on your back. My only complaint is that the backpack is very simple- there are no loops to clip stuff onto, or pockets for waterbottles, which is a bit annoying if you need to hike a bit. Overall a fantastic bag, especially for the price!!

5 Linds
[ This is great for all your climbing essentials! Easy to pack and unpack. Great design. Love the fold out mat to keep all your climbing gear safe from ground debris

5 Jun D
[ This is an awesome rope bag for the gym, and crag. I used this bag carry a 70mm rope, shoes, chalk bag, Grigri, change of clothers, snacks, and there are still room to carry extra stuff. I highly recommend this bag.

5 Ben_Myrton
[ Bought this as a gift for a friend and he very much likes it. He also does n't have to borrow mine any longer. This is exactly what I wish I woupdve bought myself years ago, the tarp comes ou easily in the center and the handles on the corners make it super easy to shift over a few feet at the crag. Comfy on the back and holds all the essentials with a 60m rope.

[ I ’ ve used this bag for years and it is indestructible. I left a banana in it for weeks and the smell was destructive to my nose. Had to clean it many times before the smell went away. It ’s sill like new on the inside. It does not have a strap or method to lash a rope on the outside. It ’s a haul bag but also a crate pack for me. I would like that option. So i bought a BD creek 50. Regarding. Comfort, it ’s not. It ’s a haul bag with shoulder straps and removable waist belt. I do love it. It has lasted with no damage in the rock environment. If this pack suits your needs, you won ’ t regret it. It ’s. Haul bag first and a backpack last..

5 TimTam
[ Honestly this is my favorite rope bag, way nicer than the metolius I have that I paid almost 2x as much for. The backpack straps are awesome, tarp is high quality, and tie off loops are great.

5 Jmac
[ Waited to get back from the crag to write this. Having returned I can now say this rope is exactly what it should be. All included amenities performed perfectly. It is housing a 70m rope and has no issue doing so. Stays small without using compression and when using the compression straps becomes very compact. And the two sided adjustable shoulder straps are very convenient.

5 Ken70
[ Well made lightweight role bag. It has a window to see what role is in it. Best thing I like is the oversized rollout tarp, largest one compared to my other bags. Great buy!

5 TooTall
[ Very few bags have all these features. Love carrying it with two shoulder straps, easy to fold up and stuff. It holds my 70m 9. 8 sterling rope with ease. Might be able to hold a few draws or slings/PAS. Only feature I wish it had were a few external daisy chain type loops for clipping gear too. Love it though!

5 Sasha
[ Like most rope bags this one has a built in tarp and two color coded tie in points( red in close and green on the tarp). What sets this bag apart are the straps. It has two padded shoulder straps. They can be adjusted independently. You can use it as a single sling style bag, but you can also use the pair to turn the bag into a backpack. Not only is this nice when carrying the bag to the gym and on approach but I use it when climbing multipitch. Throw in my approach shoes, water bottle, first aid kit etc. Love it. Bag also has a single hand strap across one end of the bag. Nice when tossing it up on the shelf in the closet when storing the rope& bag. Great for my 60m ropes and 70m.

Great fast running pack! Surprised how well my iPhone 15 pro max fits in the zippered mesh too. Paired it with the 500ml soft flask 👌🏻

My old first- gen Distance 8 is finally wearing out after thousands of miles, hundreds of mountains, 100k PRs, snow and rain, gallons of sweat and pounds of salt, who knows what else. This iteration of the Distance 8 is like an old friend with a few useful refinements. So comfortable I grab it even for a basic 30 minute outing if I want to go hands- free with water or phone, but also absolutely reliable for the biggest adventures.

5 Jabez H.
This is an upgrade over my previous vest from a different retailer. Big roomy pockets on the front for flasks with elastic loops that go over the lid to prevent it from sinking down in the sleeve over time. I love the zippered pocket on the left for my phone and the mesh pockets on either side for snacks. The bag has an easy top cinch at the top and is super roomy for the other essentials and then some. There is probably enough space in the pack itself for an emergency overnight. The fit is luxuriously comfortable, feels secure with very little bouncing and jostling. The only aspect of the pack I have n't used is the pole sleeves on either side of the pack or the elastic loops for lashing poles to the outside. They seem like they would work very well with the distance z poles, but not my old school backpacking poles. Really though, this is a great buy, I am extremely satisfied with the fit, feel, and quality of the running pack.

Really like this bag because it ’s big enough for both hands to chalk up, has pockets for phone and brush, but isn ’ t so big that its a pain to take around from route to route in the gym. My only gripe is that I wish there was a design feature for transport, like an obvious handle. Overall though, 98% satisfied!

5 Jose G
The bag is awesome only thing that I think that can get better is the opening having a magnet to hold it closed when not in use.

5 Pierce P
Works great I 've used it many times indoor and outdoor. It's got a nice soft interior and it keeps your chalk really dry. I 've spilt water on my bag and it still kept it dry. It has a huge lip that keeps chalk in the bag and off the ground. Overall it has performed great and I 'd highly recommend.

5 Chris AJ Son J
Owning one of these makes me feel like I can climb 1 to 2 grades higher. this product is a must have when bouldering to avoid spilling chalk when using the small once.

5
Wanted a chalk bucket to hold large volumes and to get my hands chalked up nicely. Worked perfectly and has a very nice and simple aesthetic. My only gripe with this chalk bucket is the zip storage. I 'm likely also asking too much of it, but I would like it to hold my brush more securely. Similar to my old chalk bag that has an elastic loop for me to slip my brush into and it holds it securely and I 'm not worried about losing it.

Simple and well designed. I really like having the ability to remove the lid and strip the pack down. Everything you need is there without extra fluff. The Speed 30's versatility and simplicity is its greatest asset.

5 Arash S.
Very light back pack for day hikes, enough to carry foods and water for short hikes

5 Tanner F.
Bought this pack for light and fast climbing trips and it has been perfect

5 Lee O.
Black Diamond's Speed Packs provide everything I need and appreciate in a trad pack without any unnecessary fluff 'n' stuff added. I 'm a tall man with a short torso, and the smaller size sits nicely, even while wearing a harness and climbing multipitch routes. The pack also carries a rope nicely, with five compression straps keeping it in place. While I have n't used this pack for skiing, I can strongly recommend it for all- day climbing adventures.

5 Greg P.
Like my larger BD pack, this thing is a bucket. It fits a ton of gear, but doesn ’ t wear like a big, heavy pack. Feels good in the hips, and distributes weight well.

[ The first thing that drew me to this bag was the Mammut name. I know their quality is top notch. The shell is soft yet durable. The closing system is totally cool- it cinches down to a pinhole. The fleece lining feels so good I want to wear it. I have a 38 '' waist- it is all muscle ladies- and the belt leaves about 2 inches of slack. As climbers, we all have big hands. Men's XL gloves are tight on me. I have no problem getting my hand in this bag.

It's just a well made bag. Sturdy exterior, good liner, free flowing string.

I love the inner liner. I have a habit of spilling chalk everywhere. The nylon liner catches a lot of chalk from `` bouncing '' out.

[ I ’ ve had it at the rock gym two or three times already and the crag babes keep checking out my booty, ok they ’ re definitely checking out this chalk bag. Regardless, the opening stays open nicely while climbing, but also cinches up tightly with the draw string. I have medium/large man- hands with long fingers and I can get my whole hand in the bag and still have a bit of room to toss around the chalk pouch a bit. The belt feels sturdy as do the loops on the bag. The color is seriously sassy, and the inside has foxy orange fleece too, which helps keep your chalk warm. All the ladies will want to know, where ’ d you get that fine chalk bag?
