I have been waiting for a hooded version of a packable puffer that was still cute, and after enjoying other Halfdays products for skiing, I was excited when I saw this in their spring collection this year. This jacket arrived several weeks ago and has been great for everything I 've thrown at it! It has kept me warm, dry, and cute on rainy commutes to work, mulching my garden, and taking my dog on a field trip to our local forest preserves. It has been comfortable in temps as low as 35 and as high as 65 or so for me, personally. I bought this recently after outgrowing a jacket I used for many years! I keep my jackets for multiple years and am very pleased with it so far. It ’s extremely cozy and warm and I get cold easily! I live in the interior of BC, Canada, where it ’s often brisk in the mornings and evenings. I am 5 ’ 6 ” and 170lbs of muscle with wider hips and shoulders- this jacket in a large fits perfectly with room for a hoodie underneath while not being too tight on my bum. The forest green colour is also beautiful and matches my green eyes but that ’s besides the point. I love it and hope it lasts many many years!

But what I love about them is that the fully separating zippers allow me to don and doff them without the need to tak my boots off and on. For years, I did n't understand the benefits of packing cubes. Eventually, I started reading a lot of articles about one- bag packing and decided to give them a try. First game- changer. I found that I really liked the organization of packing cubes. Then I discovered compression packing cubes. Took these on a trip around the Colorado four pass loop. As is typical, we got caught in an afternoon storm at 10, 000 feet and suited up. Pants kept us dry from the rain and wete sufficiently breathable for 2 hours of rainy hiking. They are definitely pants to put on BEFORE it rains because the ankle zips do n't accommodate footwear too well. But I knew that going in. And while it's maybe just a little too heavy and bulky for my ultralight goals, I bought it because I liked it so much in general( tried in on in a store, bought it on Mossejaw). And now I wear it anytime the weather's a little chilly. It's warm, a great fit-- not too tight, not too baggy-- and the material just feels great. I 've also had it out in light rain for half an hour or so, and nothing soaked in. So it really is at least a little water repellent. Only con is, I do n't like the double, left- handed zipper, but I 'll get used to it. And who knows, maybe I 'll end up bringing it on a backpacking trip, since I like it so much. Kids go to a camp in CO where it rains a fair amount so rain pants are on the required packing list. This was the pair they had this year and they loved them. They were great because they were light weight and easy to pack. In terms of water protection they were as good as any of the previous ones they have used. These packing cubes are perfect for both my professional and personal travel. The material is high quality and the space inside each cube is much bigger than I expected. I bought these to use with a travel backpack on a train trip in Europe. I love the size of these packing cubes as well as their ability to compress down. They are very durable and easy to grab out by the handle. The only improvement I can think of I would like would be to have them in more colors.

[ All of my wife ’s coats were heavy, dressy- looking coats that weighed a ton. Because of her handicap, and difficulty walking, the heavy coats were a nuisance. I got her this Expedition Hoodie, and she has absolutely fallen in love with it. She was shocked at how something so light, could keep you so warm. Sometimes, when unable to walk, we need to use a transport chair. Sitting in that chair on a cold, windy day, unable to generate heat from walking, this jacket makes all the difference.

[ The perfect jacket if you ’ re looking for a lightweight, warm jacket. It is not too bulky and keeps me super warm. I am usually a medium and ended up with a large so that I could have many layers on at once. I originally got an XL because of some of the reviews saying that they ran super small but had to exchange it because that was way too big. I hope this helps!

I ordered a small to replace my worn- out old winter jacket. I 'm 5' 0. 5 '' and about 107lbs. I like the stylish fit of this jacket, and it is n't too snug. I 'm able to comfortably wear a sweatshirt. Now I just have to wait for a cold western NY winter to see how warm it keeps me.
