These will be the boots I slip on everyday to go from the gym/yoga studio, running errands and everything else I do during the day. After the gym I put a skirt or tunic on over my leggings put these boots on and go about my day. They fit true to size. I 'm a 7. 5 to 8 in Fallen, Black and 8 fits great. I have a very high instep which these boots accommodate and I can slip them on without using my hands to pull them on. I love that about these boots. I 'm a die- hard Lone Peak trail running shoe fan. I 've been wearing them for all of my hiking and backpacking adventures for over 6 years. I tried the LP 7 and for the first time ever, it was n't love at first step. I 'll review those separately! I thought I 'd try the LP Hiker 2 instead to see if it felt better than the LP 7. I 'm happy to say that I truly love it. It's an especially nice option for rockier terrain where you might want a little ankle protection. It also eliminates the need to wear gaiters, which I always wear with the LP trail running shoe. The upper on this LP Hiker 2 is far better than I expected... flexible, no grommets to dig into skin, and laces stay tight. The upper does n't put any pressure on my heel or ankles and it does n't restrict my shin from forward motion. The tongue is very comfortable. I LOVE the brown color. It has a slight dusty rose/mauve/salmon tint to it. These are true to size. I always wear an 8. 5 in Lone Peaks and these are no different. It feels very similar to the LP 4. 5 and LP 5( shown in photo). If anything, it does feel a tiny bit more fitted in the midsole. I can immediately tell that it will be warmer and less breathable than the trail runner, but, I 'd expect that from a boot. So, I will likely reserve these for cooler days and rockier terrain., but I will also wear these a lot as a daily winter boot just because they are cute!

I recommend going a full size up. I 'm usually US size 6. 5 wide. I have the LP Alpines in 6. 5 W and they fit well, but I wear thinner socks with them. I first got the Lone Peak Hiker 2's in 7 W( half a size up), and they were a tad too small, especially because I wear thicker socks for hiking. I got them again in 7. 5 W and they 're perfect. See pics comparing sz 6. 5 Alpines w/ sz 7 Hiker 2's, and sz 7 vs. 7. 5 Hiker 2's. Also, there is no arch support in these. Not an issue for me because I have very high arches and routinely add my own insoles to my shoes. When I removed the original Altra insoles and added my own, the fit was much better, and there was more room in the toebox because my insoles are thinner in the front( I use Superfeet carbon lightweight insoles). I have n't put many miles on these yet but I have done some short walks on mixed terrain, and they are great so far. They are lightweight, the high tops support my ankles without limiting movement, and they grip the ground well. Overall would recommend. Just be sure to size up. Thankfully, Altra makes returns super easy.

Love these boots. They ’ re really comfortable. I looked at a lot of boots before deciding and I ’ m glad I landed on these. I love the sole. I walk a lot in them and am comfortable, just like my Chaco sandals, and I love having a more aggressive tread on the bottom. They ’ re cute but super functional. I needed to size down. I ’ m usually an 8 in boots but the 7 worked for me better. I have a narrow heel and the my feet were sliding out of the 8s. They ’ re not extremely warm, but they are warmer than a regular casual boot and they are waterproof! I ’ ve worn them outside when there ’s melting snow and my feet stay dry. I just wouldn ’ t buy them as your “ snow boot ”, but they ’ re a great, cute boot for cooler days. I ’ m a teacher who has to be outside quite a bit and I wear them to work all the time.

Slip on and go! Warm and versatile. Like a high top moccasin with a hard inner sole. The wool is only around the ankle. Haven ’ t had to test the waterproofness yet.

But has the support, durability, GTX and traction I like for hiking on snow, ice, and dirt. And waterproof+ zero drop too! Lace system makes it easy to adjust for different socks. Just feels good to wear, which I have not yet found in a hiking boot. And I have tried a lot!
