I got this as a fun hiking jacket and I love the color so much it goes with so many of my outfits. But I will say that as I walk around the house with it and while I 'm hiking the elastic loop that you use to cinch in the bottom gets caught in door handles and in trees often which is kind of annoying. The vents on the back are pretty neat. The elastic on the cuff looks pretty cheap because the fabric is easier so you can see how thick the elastic is. Also the zipper looks funny when you cinch it up because the bottom of the zipper does n't get cinched obviously. Usually for crops jackets you can just talk this part upside down but because this one has a ruched pattern talking that part upside down causes the ruched parts to be hidden. Anyways still too cute for me to care. I found with the style of jacket you really need a size down because Free people is making it super oversized

[ I bought this rain jacket because I wanted a longer raincoat that was dressier than my thigh length raincoat, and one that I could wear with dresses or skirts. I bought a medium, which is my usual size, and it fits well and would allow for wearing a sweater underneath. [ Im a size 4/6 and 5 foot 2 and the small fits well. The sleeves do have extra room so you could easily wear extra layers under this. I bought this for future travel to England. It is a blend of sporty with some style. It ’s not as fancy or tailored as a traditional trench but the waterproof fabric is much more practical. I would call this more of a stylish rain jacket.

It is beautiful in person and it gives both fashionable and functional. I love the buttons on this coat and the bungee inside gives you more of a fitted look. You can easily dress this trench coat up or down. I ’ m planning on wearing this during my Alaska trip to layer on top during those wet rainy days. It seems very well insulated and breathable. I would suggest sizing down from your normal size. It already gives a bit of an oversized fit. S is kind of tight around my hip so I got M from Cotopaxi … I am now ordering the same jacket in size S. M is comfortable but maybe too roomy. I think if I am going to wear a sweater inside, M is good. But I prolly don ’ t wear both sweater and jacket wheee I live. I think I will keep both sizes since my kids all live in very cold area. I 'm very happy with this jacket and the matching bibs so far. It's roomy enough that I could layer up on an icy cold day in BC in December, but also fits fine over minimal layers on warmer days. I typically ski on the wet side of the Cascades, and I can say this set is waterproof enough to meet the challenge of a warm- ish rainy ski day. My only critiques are: 1) the top- entry pockets are really hard to get my phone in and out of. The opening is technically big enough but it takes both hands to open the pocket wide enough to jam my large phone through. 2) the front zipper is kind of hard to operate while wearing gloves. Also there's definitely a pocket on the left forearm for a ski pass- not sure if other reviewers had a different version or what, but mine is not lacking a pass pocket.

I normally get a size M for comfort and I like baggier fits. I am 5'5 '' and usually a 28 '' waist. I think the M fits well around the waist but the location of the pockets feels a bit low for me.
