This is similar to the Mytsery Tackle Box, which I also think is a great gift. But I am very happy I bought this as a Christmas gift for my father, for serendipitous reasons. Storytime: every May, he and I take a guided weekend fishing trip up to Lake St. Clair. We always bring and use our own tackle, and last trip our guide took us to a spot we had never fished before. It was weedy, and I ended up throwing a weedless jig I had in my tackle box, which matched the color that we always have the most success( e. g. Rapala Blue Ghost color). It was a swim jig, and I added a Powerbait craw trailer. In that one section, I landed a dozen bass in the 2- 4 pound range. It was very weedy with a lot of slop, and the jig moved perfectly through everything without getting hung up, or getting covered in slop with each cast. The problem was that( a) I only had one jig of that type and color; and( b) I had ZERO IDEA of the brand! I spent many hours online afterwards trying to find the exact jib for purchase, with zero luck... until my father opened the Rapala Bass Boom Box. As he pulled each item out... he took out the EXACT jig I used( climax: it is the Thunder Hawk Mouse Head Grass Jig). This shows one of the great aspects of these Boxes: you will get things you might never have thought of trying- or even knew existed!

This is a fantastic suspending jerkbait. Excellent weight transfer system, great castability and it suspends perfectly. Using a hard slack- line jerk really works best as this bait really has some spastic action. The slack line twitch will allow that spastic action without moving the bait a great distance. When it suspends it sits dead still in a slightly nose down position. Incredible bait for both largemouth and smallmouth.

I caught my PB jerk bait fish with the Vision 110 Junior on it's first day on the water. This thing casts a mile, darts left and right as well as rolls over to provide that dying shad imitation. Hooks are incredibly sticky, no need to change them at all! Windy, 35 degrees and overcast set this bait up perfectly and it did n't disappoint. Hey these are good lures! How I know? First time I used it I hooked an absolute monster bass in a heavily fished area of a heavily fished lake, a rare occurrence. Kind of a nice thumping action on retrieve, good moves as a jerkbait, excellent finish, not surprised at all it attracts the monsters. Only negative is easy to snag getting it down into below surface brush.

I got this combo three weeks ago and loved it from day one. Bait casters can be tricky and each can have a learning curve all its own. That said, the rod has great action and the real is very smooth and accurate.... then I hooked a personal best large mouth at 9lbs witch should be within its spec but the rod snapped 23 ” from the tip. I wasn ’ t over extended or pushing the limits. The line held and I painfully hand lined it in. If I had to do it again, I wouldn ’ t change a thing! I WILL perches this combo again.

I 've been using Zoom products for several years now and use the swimmin chunk as a trailer on a 1/4 ounce jig and also a 3/8 ounce jig. i usually dip the legs in a chartreuse garlic dye, and most of my jigs are a shade of green( usually a green crawfish) not sure if the bass see this as a bluegill or crawfish; only that it catches fish!! i fish an extremely clear, fairly deep lake so detail is very important.
