[ Bought this as I wanted a little beefier dome protection after taking big hit mid- season with my last helmet and needed new one. Chose matte petrol and was happy to see what this color really looks like, a matted darker blue with a very faint iridescence that is really cool, but not flashy. Haven ’ t seen anyone around with this color helmet, as doesn ’ t have two tone color scheme many of the other quantum ’s around. Helmet fits great, 58cm head, and large size has enough room for balaclava I use when colder. Very comfy without looking like bobblehead. ODT Chips audio fits great for sound on mountain and venting is solid. I use Smith I/OX goggs and perfect integration as one might expect... no gaps, no fog, no issues. Great helmet option for increased dome protection!

[ This was a gift for my dad, and he likes it. It has a great, seamless fit with his Giro goggles, and the ventilation is good. He did notice that it pushed down on his goggles slightly on his nose. After seeing him wearing it, I think this could be caused by the extra padding under the back of the helmet. He didn ’ t seem too bothered by it and is happy with his new helmet and goggle system.

[ Okay, I 'm in the `` This helmet fits great! '' camp. I 've read several reviews about bad fitment but I did not find that to be the case. The helmet has an expandable rib on either side of the helmet. When placing it on my head I squeezed the bottom ends/sides toward the base of my skull while tightening the adjustment dial on the back. At first it was a little too tight but in about five minutes or so it felt great and I never needed to adjust it again. I just skied five days straight in Aspen and the two days it snowed were pretty darn cold. The helmet kept my head both warm and dry and I never felt the need to take it off until lunch or the end of the day. I use Dragon goggles and there were no incompatibility issues at all.

I have been skiing many times is multiple resorts. I am an intermediate skier. I prefer the fun greens/ blues. I can ski black diamonds, but honestly I prefer the ease of skiing rather than the competitiveness. I was skiing an easy run. The run was narrower surrounded with beautiful trees and cabins. I noticed a skied off area where there was a ton of noticeable ice. I attempted to move to the right to avoid most of the icy snow. I did hit a patch, which increased my speed. It was Ll fine but right after the ice patch was a mogul, followed by another larger mogul. After having the speed from the ice hitting that first unexpected mogul sent me in a non- controlled tumble. After hitting the second mogul, I was airborne. My head broke my fall. I remember my head hitting and bouncing back. My husband was right behind me, so I loved right away. I was okay and able to ski home. I made skied away without a concussion, or even worse. I did get whiplash, but no lasting effects. I am a walking advertisement for this life saving helmet. I literally own my life to Smith ski helmets. I am BEYOND grateful for your technology, and safety features. I can not thank you enough. If you ’ re reading this thinking of purchasing a helmet. Do not think twice. It may safe your life too.

[ I got this helmet because it was one of the cheapest options available that still had MIPS technology in it. This helmet is super awesome and does not feel like a cheap helmet at all. Compared to other helmets that are$ 150+ its hard to tell the difference except for minor upgrades such as a magnetic strap instead of standard buckle or slightly less fitting customization options. I would definitely recommend this helmet to someone who is looking for a cheaper, super high quality piece of safety gear for skiing, snowboarding, and even biking. It's also cool that the ear muffs come out of the helmet.

Totally awesome helmet! The Giro Jackson helmet is super lightweight and warm. Even with my large dome I can wear this helmet comfortably for hours. With just a balaclava underneath I felt totally fine at temperatures that would make Jack Frost shiver. Outdoor Tech Chips Headphones also pair nicely with this helmet.

[ There's no such thing as a safe, light, and inexpensive helmet... you ca n't have all three. So, this helmet might not be the most inexpensive but it is a name brand from a trusted retailer( I will not take my chance on other sites where they may try to pass a counterfeit), it is light and comfortable, warm, and looks good. The vents direct air to the inside of my goggles to help with preventing fog. My hand hit the dial on back which loosened the helmet only once by accident. The ratcheting system worked for me with no issues after that at all,... despite what other reviewers said. I 'd recommend it.

[ I ’ ve used this helmet on warm Southern California slopes and in horrid conditions in British ’s Colombia. It is extremely comfortable and the fit is exceptionally customizable, the magnetic chin strap is awesome and makes everything easy. It would entirely depend on your personal fit and how much headcover you wear under it but the helmet is not particularly warm even with the vents closed. Wearing a balaclava or skull cap barely changes the fit and you can easily fit a helmet accepting hood over it for those extra cruddy days. A nice addition is the adjustable visor which means this helmet will roll with just about every kind of goggle out there. It also has perfect spacing to give just enough venting so there ’s no fogging on those warmer days. Regarding fit I usually run on the extreme edge of medium, this helmet is perfectly true to fit and was just a hair small on me which is what I anticipated. The liner is easily removable to make room for a hat or thicker liner. All in all Oakley did a solid job on this, luckily I haven ’ t given it ’s impact resistance a solid test yet.

I 'll exchange it though, as the fit system was great, vents looked good and the look was perfect. More feedback... the ear covers dampened a lot of sound, more than my Holt ever did.

It seems that any time I 've gone skiing this year the temps have been in the negatives( Fahrenheit) and evidently there's not a whole lot the helmet is protecting, since I forgot to wear my hat underneath it for a while, but it was a good hour before I was wondering why my ears were starting to get cold. My mountain bike helmet has MIPS, and I 've found out first- hand how well that works, so I have real confidence in the helmet to keep me safe for when I get false confidence in my lacking ability on the slopes. I bought the purple- ish color but it looks more burnt red in the sun light- which I prefer. It's warm and fits well. There is only one small way to adjust the size so measure your head before you buy it. I 've used it in- 6 F weather and it was warm.

This Smith Method Pro MIPS helmet is amazing! The reason that I bought this helmet is because of all the great reviews and studies I read on impact protection. I am one that prefers function over form. However, this helmet accomplished both. The fit is perfect and the helmet really looks great in the military green color that I bought it in. It is light on the head and comfortable to wear, with no pressure points when worn all day. It works well with my goggles and keeps my ears warm. I don ’ t know what else I can ask from a ski helmet!

Just received the helmet; seems to be of good quality and a good replacement for my Smith Maze that has taken quite a beating with no concussion/brain injuries. Love the mips. The tailored temporal part dips in a bit and puts a bit of pressure, so maybe not the best fit if you have a big head.

I&# x27; ve slammed my head pretty hard a few times in the second one, as well, but every time I&# x27; ve been completely fine. The fit on this helmet is great. The `` contour fit '' helmets fits the shape of my head much better than the standard fit helmets. However, I previously had the Maze helmet, which so much lighter and had a `` less bulky '' feel. Finally, the goggle strap holder in the back gets stuck and it's hard to get your goggle on and off of the helmet. Overall, the helmet is a great buy. I think I will end up buying the Maze helmet in the contour fit.

I 've just purchased a Vantage helmet for my son after owning one myself for the past year- if these helmets are n't the best on the market then I do n't know what is. Super comfortable fit with good adjustment, light weight, great ventilation and looks great. I 've used mine exclusively off piste in Niseko which can get very cold and windy. The adjustable ventilation is a big plus- the Vantage helmet kept my head and ears warm and toasty on the lifts and nice and cool on the runs down. Some have complained that the adjustable boa catches on the collar of your jacket inadvertently adjusting the fit. While you can occasionally feel it catching, I have not experienced the adjustment changing nor really noticed it. A little expensive but well worth it.
