I love this light. My previous Black Diamond headlamps( Spot 350 and even the previous revolt 350 to a degree) had a very focused beam( they were supposed to). This can be a bit disorienting when running creating a tunnel effect. The Sprinter 500 has a very even light across about a 120- 160 degree arc or cone, that lights up the whole trail in front and to the sides. Even at about half power, it was bright enough to comfortably run through tough terrain, lighting up stumps and rocks on the ground as well as low branches above, with plenty of warning to dodge. I did run this light a few times at full power and it is BRIGHT. At full power I received comments from oncoming runners and hikers to tone it down.( for the purpose of the headlamp, that's not a bad thing). I ca n't speak to battery life yet, although at max to medium power, it ran for at least 3 hours before hitting one blue light. According to the manual this is 10- 20%, I believe. I appreciate the dual fuel system and all my experience so far has been with the BD- 1800 rechargeable batteries. The only thing I 've noticed so far, is the two side adjustment buckles can work their way loose and it takes some practice to get and keep a snug fit. I have n't tried it without the top head strap, but it could probably work without it, at least for hiking.

Excellent size, weighing 100 grams. The rubber feels very high quality. It can be hung up, placed on a surface without slipping thanks to the rubber base, and even positioned at an angle using the hooks. The moonlight mode is not at all bothersome; it's super dim. The red light is also very pleasant and not at all irritating. It has three LED battery indicators. I appreciate the locking switch to prevent it from turning on during transport, although it's not really necessary because turning it on requires a lot of force — too much for my liking, which is the only negative point I can mention. Another positive aspect is the price. There's nothing else like it at this price.

My everyday carry is the Nebo Slim light( which I absolutely love), but there are times in my work that I thought I would really like to have something I could put on my cap. I kept looking at this headlamp but since my slim light is 500 lumens I just thought this headlamp with only 150 lumens( on high) would n't make me happy. I finally decided I needed to give it a try and I was very surprised by how bright it is, sure seems brighter than 150 lumens. [ I was skeptical when I purchased this lamp as I thought it looked like it wouldn ’ t put out a lot of light. Boy was I wrong. It actually lit up the room I was in that was completely dark. The fit on my head was very comfortable. It was easily adjustable and could fit around a watermelon or my wife ’s small head easily. My attic is very dark and this has allowed me to move stuff around in the attic ands free which is a real timesaver. It ’s lightweight, easy to turn on/off and works great for my needs.
