Owning many other Yeti products including a Tundra cooler, I knew I had to have the Silo 6G. I just needed to find an excuse to convince my wife we needed one. When she told me we were hosting a New Years Eve party this year and she needed a large container to hold bulk libations, I knew this was my prime opportunity! Last night we prepped 6 gallons of spiked punch and it fit perfectly! While we opted for no ice to prevent watering down our concoction, I have no doubt about ice retention. There is one thing I wish Yeti would have included on the Silo 6G, a lock- out on the spigot. As soon as we got the Silo all filled up with our ingredients, what was the first thing my 4 year old did? She went over and pushed the button, causing boozy goodness to efficiently flow through the Surepour Spigot all down the front of her and all down the front of my white cabinets. Oh well, at least we still have 5. 9 gallons to ring in the new year with. Yeti, once again, has knocked it out of the park!

I recieved the 36 can cooler and i was able to fit 24 cans plus ice. We have had a mild winter where i live so i decided to fill this cooler and test it by setting it outside for 5 days. I checked on it everyday. Day 2 still had ALL ice. Day 3 it started to melt. By day 5 all ice was melted but drinks were still ICE COLD. The magnetic lid creates an insulation like no other. I believe that is the feature that kept my drinks cold for so long. The zippers well, they are tough to open however it really seals out the warm air so i can live with it. The thing that makes the zipper so difficult is that it is outlined in silicone/rubber for a tight seal so it does serve a purpose. The front pouch is perfect size for plates& cutlery. I also love the thoughtfulness of adding a bottle opener. Overall, i think this is a great cooler and i cant wait to see how it works while outside, camping in the hot summers. I would recommend.

The real test for this will be in the summer here in Arizona, but so far its an amazing cooler, definitely lasts longer than my tundra haul. 5 days with original ice and its solid as a rock. The really cool thing that yeti does n't mention is it comes with a cover with the sides cut open to allow use of the handles for transport and protecting the metal finish! I wish they made covers for their tundras so it would help keep the sun off.

I have a tundra haul,( 2) 45s, and a 35. But I had to pull the trigger on this sexy piece of engineering design. It ’s definitely going to be my stay at home cooler for patio and get togethers. I attached photos next to a tundra 45. The thinner walls definitely help out a lot to reduce cooler overall size yet gain area inside. It might also tag along on some road trips since it has a small footprint and taller. It ’s built solid, but I will definitely baby it compared to my tundras. [ I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this product, the outside is a semi hard case it has one pocket in front and on the side there is a bottle opener attached, it comes with a long strap for carrying. The zipper is a little bit hard to open at first but once I put on the lubricant that came with it it ’s a lot easier to open. I like that the lid is magnetic incase you accidentally leave the lid unzipped at least the magnet will keep the cooler closed. I put ice in this cooler at 8am and a whole 24 hours later the ice was a little melted but there was still plenty of ice left! I will definitely be using this cooler all summer long it ’s great and the price point is even better!

[ This cooler has it all! I can ’ t find one flaw with the design. I did think I was getting a backpack cooler based on the photo, but this is a shoulder strap cooler which works great! Pros:- waterproof zipper: I put water in this thing, shook it all around, laid it on its side and upside down and no leaks!- magnetic top: when you are using the cooler at your destination, no need to sip it back up every time. It has a magnetic closure( see video) that works very well.- says it has 2- day ice retention- I tested for 24 hours and can confirm ice was solid!- front pocket is also waterproof so if you are taking this to the beach and need somewhere to put your phone…you have a safe place.- beer bottle opener on the side- comfortable strap for carrying- cooler isn ’ t collapsible- it is solid and sturdy- has lubrication included for the zipper- the zipper is tougher to open because of the waterproof technology. Outstanding! Purchased the ICF 18 a month ago and used for 8 days straight without any problem. We found our perfect temp was 34 degrees. This cooler was spot on with the temperature although the smaller compartment above the compressor was just a few degrees higher. We opted to use that area for soda cans and items that weren ’ t as sensitive to temperature. The main area kept things really cold. I used a refrigerator thermometer before our trip and felt the internal thermometer was spot on within a degree or two. For longer trips or families the 32( size wise might be better), but we are happy with our choice! The unit was powered with a portable power supply that kept our Igloo running all day while driving with power to spare! To be fair, the Igloo was in a climate controlled car nearly all the time. Hope this helps and we would highly recommend the Igloo ICF 18. It is also very quiet as someone else mentioned. The cooler( fully loaded) was also manageable for a couple of seniors to lift in and out of our car. Good job and Thank you Igloo!!!

[ I bought this cooler a bit more than a month ago and have only had a few opportunities to play with it so far. Not once have I been disappointed! The ice stays cold, I did the first test by tossing a sacrificial bag of ice in the cooler to pre- chill it but that ice only melted about 3/4 cup so had a spare bag of ice just lying around. The tips are perfect as well for loading. I only wish the cooler dividers had a few more options, namely a 3/4 divider widthwise instead of only splitting it 50/50.

I got the ICF60 recently and finally got a chance to use it. I set the cooler to 0F, put about 15 pounds of frozen venison in the cooler, put the cooler inside the car and headed out. Over the course of the 6 hour drive, I never heard a sound from it and I was about 2 feet from it the entire time. About an hour from my destination, I had to unplug the cooler from the cigarette lighter. When I get to my destination, the meat was still frozen and hard as a rock! I will be using the cooler on all my hunting trips in the future!

I 've had at least 3 other models of Igloo branded coolers in the past and have loved them all. We normally use a pair of trail mate journeys, so this is about the same volume as what we 're used to, but the exterior is much more compact( no wheels or extra exterior parts/compartments) and not needing the ice will help get a lot more packed in. Where we use the trailmate for going camping, this will be used for a multi- week trip with multiple nights in hotels along the way to where we 're going. We 're going to be staying about an hour from a grocery store, so having a vehicle refrigerator will help a lot with surviving more days between trips to the store. This will go in the back of our SUV each day and plug into the car for power, moving it to the hotel each night to plug in. I have a battery pack with 220Whr of capacity, but from my tests within my house it wo n't be enough to leave it running off of this in the car overnight. I like that this has a good rubber seal and it sucks tight when you try to open it, so no air leaks like a typical cooler. I 'd like to see it with a bit thicker of a wall so that it would run a bit more efficiently, though it really does n't take that much power. I 'm also glad this is n't a thermoelectric cooler, like the ones that were popular in the 1990s. The unit does n't make much noise, so it wo n't wake anyone up or keep anyone up in the hotel rooms, at least no more than my snoring. From using rv refrigerators, I know one thing that will help me keep my food cool is a battery operated fan running inside the cooler to keep the air moving inside.

This one is a lot lighter than I thought which was equally good and bad, I was worried about its ability but let me tell you how unfounded my worries were. I put a large and small bag of ice( about 24 lbs) in the cooler at 2pm on Saturday and camped in 88 degree weather. I wanted to test it, and for two days it sat outside directly in the sun. It is now Monday night and there is still ice. Is it mostly melted? Yes. Is it still pretty cold? Also yes. For the price I could not have asked for anything else, I feel like I got a much better cooler than what I paid for.
