I took a pretty big slam to the back of my head on my first ride with this helmet and I ’ m not brain dead so I ’ m gon na say it works as advertised. Im actually pretty surprised the helmet is still intact as well. I didn ’ t feel hot or cold with it, so that ’s cool. Style is subjective.

Great helmet! Very comfortable and functional. I love that I can open and close the front and back vents separately to help regulate temperature and ventilation. Helmet works well with bluetooth in helmet music( I use Outdoor Tech Chips). I 've not had a hard crash yet to test it, but I 'm glad this helmet has the MIPS system just in case.

[ Was sick of renting crappy ski helmets. Finally bit the bullet and splurge, worth it. So comfortable, it comes with a helmet liner which is nice if it ’s cold. It was super cold so I wore a smartwool liner, it had enough room for another liner. Didn ’ t have to use the vents yet since it was super cold, so I can ’ t comment on that feature. The magnet clip is really nice, makes it much easier to buckle/unbuckle helmet with gloves on.

[ I ’ ve used this helmet on warm Southern California slopes and in horrid conditions in British ’s Colombia. It is extremely comfortable and the fit is exceptionally customizable, the magnetic chin strap is awesome and makes everything easy. It would entirely depend on your personal fit and how much headcover you wear under it but the helmet is not particularly warm even with the vents closed. Wearing a balaclava or skull cap barely changes the fit and you can easily fit a helmet accepting hood over it for those extra cruddy days. A nice addition is the adjustable visor which means this helmet will roll with just about every kind of goggle out there. It also has perfect spacing to give just enough venting so there ’s no fogging on those warmer days. Regarding fit I usually run on the extreme edge of medium, this helmet is perfectly true to fit and was just a hair small on me which is what I anticipated. The liner is easily removable to make room for a hat or thicker liner. All in all Oakley did a solid job on this, luckily I haven ’ t given it ’s impact resistance a solid test yet.

I sadly only got to use this helmet for a few weeks before taking a pretty bad fall on the hill. But I 'm really happy I had it as the mild concussion I got would have been way worse otherwise! Winter inevitably comes. Along with it is the need to continue riding the bike. The classic summer bike helmet just does n't work in the wintertime as it's just too full of holes for ventilation. Enter the Smith Survey Snow helmet. It has enough ventilation to keep the visor from fogging, but not enough to make your head cold. It has better protection than ANY bike helmet. It keeps your ears warm without blocking exterior sounds. The flip up visor allows you to lift it up when needed even if you wear glasses like I do. I wear glasses! I bought this hoping I wouldn ’ t get fogged up anymore. Yes, I no longer have fogged glasses. Yes, it fits small. I wear medium and bought a large. Yes, try it on and make sure it fits your face and glasses. Yes, the product is comfortable Yes, I ski in Tahoe, during some bad storms this year it worked well. Yes, smith has a great warranty and support. No, Yes, some snow might get in between you helmet and forehead. Wear a thin head covering. Yes, it doesn ’ t seal perfectly around your face like goggles. Yes, replacement visors are a thing if you can find them. Yes, smith seems to struggle with supply chain for replacement lenses.

Love the photochromatic lens. Super light helmet barely feels it is on. I added the Aleck nunchucks and it sounds great. A couple of improvements points.( a better protection for the lens when stowed away, maybe a whole helmet rigid case or a rigid cover for the lens. Also, the earmuffs out pressure on the ears when using with the audio system.

I am in love with this helmet, it is so much better than my previous one. It fits great, looks great and the fold down lenses are so convenient. I used to use a separate goggle and helmet system and this is so much easier and less fuss. I ordered a size larger than I thought I needed in order to be able to fit a thin beanie underneath and I made the right choice. My only complaint is the space between the visor and my upper cheek allows cold air in but I think with the right face protection it should be okay. Also I had two Smith bags in the box, not sure if this was an accident or what but I appreciate it all of my other pads fit into it perfectly! Two thumbs up for this helmet and Smith

[ I bought this a short bit ago and have n't had a chance to get on snow with yet, but did try it on. As I found out, the addition of the MIPS to the existing Maze design means that the helmet fits small. I wear a Large in the Smith Holt that I 've had for years, but the Large Maze MIPS is just tight enough to be uncomfortable. I 'll exchange it though, as the fit system was great, vents looked good and the look was perfect. More feedback... the ear covers dampened a lot of sound, more than my Holt ever did.

[ I bought this awhile ago as an upgrade from my original helmet. I liked having the MIPS extra protection but did n't want anything too fancy in the design. I rode with this helmet yesterday on the mountain and it was a warmer day, so I was glad I could take off the ear pads for better ventilation. The only drawback to that is the back of the helmet's plastic MIPS does contact the back of your neck so I used raised my neck gaiter up and it was no longer an issue. Solid helmet with great style.

First, I really liked this helmet from a comfort and fit perspective. It kept my head dry, fit well without constricting, so no complaints there. Second, I ’ ve referred to my helmet in the past tense because on a recent ski trip( I ’ m a boarder, but my family skis, so I ’ m going with ski trip here) I caught my edge on my last run( I know, I know) and I was slammed into the slope on my back, and I whacked my head on the ground. It was a hard impact. I still got a concussion, but I am certain my helmet saved me from much worse. I ’ ll be replacing my helmet with another Smith. Hopefully the new one will have a more peaceful retirement.
