[ Was sick of renting crappy ski helmets. Finally bit the bullet and splurge, worth it. So comfortable, it comes with a helmet liner which is nice if it ’s cold. It was super cold so I wore a smartwool liner, it had enough room for another liner. Didn ’ t have to use the vents yet since it was super cold, so I can ’ t comment on that feature. The magnet clip is really nice, makes it much easier to buckle/unbuckle helmet with gloves on.

bad: i 've worn a size L my entire life in smith. for some reason this helmet runs super small and gives me a massive headache. so SIZE UP. it's also a good bit heavier feeling than my previous variance. the great: the helmet is super tech heavy. the venting is great, and the thing just* feels* so much more solid and secure than any helmet i 've ever worn. i hope to never test it out in an accident, but if i do, i feel good about how it will treat me.

I have a `` medium '' sized head( when wearing adjustable trucker hats I snap over 3- 4 holes) but I went with the large since I ride with a beanie about half the time. Without a beanie it is on about it's tightest setting and fits perfect. I have fallen on this thing twice both times very rough falls. I fell so hard the first time I would have had a SEVERE concussion if not wearing a helmet. No cracks or anything and the helmet handled it just fine. Back to the slopes I go!

Great helmet! The ventilation works well with the sliding system to open or close vents. The helmet is very comfortable while providing your head with more than adequate warmth. In addition, the ear sockets being headphone friendly is another “ above and beyond ” feature.

I literally purchased and had shipped to my house 7 helmets before deciding on the Smith Nexus. I 'm a methodical and OCD kind of guy. Passed on top helmets from POC, Glade, Atomic, etc. Nexus is low profile, warm, fits well with my goggles, looks cool, is n't too heavy- I could go on. The price is a little high, but worth it.

First, I really liked this helmet from a comfort and fit perspective. It kept my head dry, fit well without constricting, so no complaints there. Second, I ’ ve referred to my helmet in the past tense because on a recent ski trip( I ’ m a boarder, but my family skis, so I ’ m going with ski trip here) I caught my edge on my last run( I know, I know) and I was slammed into the slope on my back, and I whacked my head on the ground. It was a hard impact. I still got a concussion, but I am certain my helmet saved me from much worse. I ’ ll be replacing my helmet with another Smith. Hopefully the new one will have a more peaceful retirement.

We do a lot of sledding and snow tubing as a family. Problem is the slope gets icy and fast real quick. I usually make the kids wear their skate helmets. Recently My husband started wear his hockey helmet i was just wearing my thick tosel cap and my parka hood drawn tight. It was a surreal experience walked away with a concussion. Worst week ever. So I went shopping for a helmet. I tried on several but went for the giro sestriere. It feels very good warm not hot. Comfortable not heavy. I have skied with it for 4 sessions now and love it. Always wear one now.

After trying several different brands and models of helmets, I found the one that fits me perfectly. The helmet is nice and snug and my goggles do not push down into my nose. This was a big selling point for me. Suggestion: take your goggles with you when checking out new helmets!
