If money is no object than get yourself a catfish series Abu, if money is tight this reel will work well if you are familiar with using baitcasting reels. Bought this reel for a black Friday event in 2018 and have used this reel on an ugly stick catfish rod and I 'm very impressed with it. The only things I had to do is break the reel down and re- oil it and change the line on the reel but I always re- oil my reels before using for the 1st time. I highly recommend this reel for the price. I restrung this reel with 65 lb braid and it's held up great but always back it with good mono line.

Great reels. I have 2 and am shopping for another. Wo n't buy it here because they do not have the higher gear ratio in the left hand retrieve model. Only 4 stars because it comes with combat grips instead of Winn knobs. But, I have swapped the combat grips for Winn round knobs. I even contacted Lew's and was able to get black and gold end caps for the knobs. I have one on a TP1 Black and the other on a Custom Lite. The reels cast great, the retrieve is smooth, and they are strong. And, they look good too. Get one today.

We have a pair of these in the rocket tubes for Northeast striper fishing. They are on Ugly Stik 6. 5' Tiger Elites. The reel is strong, big crank, the level winder is strong enough for 40# plus stripers and its one less thing to worry about when you are hooked up with a big bass. Plenty of drag and they hold a lot of braid( we use 30 pound Spiderwire). Just make sure you wash them well, they are not saltwater sealed as good as others. Left hand wind is a must for me. I am right handed but never figured out why so many people choose to cast with their right hand and then switch hands so they can wind with their right hand. The size and weight are also just right as I mainly fish for striped bass and blue catfish with this reel perfect on a seven foot medium action rod and 15 lb. test mono. I caught a fish on my second cast and anticipate catching many more in the future.

We have a couple of these on hand on Fenwick Eagles with 20# braid. Good fluke and sea bass reel. Just make sure you wash it down, not saltwater sealed that well.

I ran across one a few weeks back. I have to say it is a very smooth reel! These Abu Sweden made models are solid! Smoother cast then anything I have used before. Last year I cheaped out and regretted it. Hope to catch some big fish this year! Definitely worth the price!

So far so good for a first time baitcaster user. Have had couple of nest when I forgot to put my thumb on the line but after adjusting brake at every sinker change and holding thumb on the line when casting and a few fishing trips everything has been good. Very solid reel but still waiting on catching that big flattie for the true test.

I have had this reel about a week, I am really happy with it. I love the color with just a little hint of purple on the metal. It ’s the perfect size to fit in your hand and light as a feather. After adjusting the reel the amb backlash system works great. It casts a mile and is as smooth as butter with the 11+1 bbs. The gear ratio is a nice for both worm and lure fishing. The drag is easy to adjust and works great. I have many reels of all kinds and makes and this is a home run. This will be my reel of choice from now on.

For context, I have been baitcasting for about two years now, but because I did n't know I would like it, I originally bought a cheap walmart reel. I traditionally liked spin casting. But with the weather getting warmer where I live, I decided it was time to upgrade.. enter Kastking! I love their products because they provide such great value( they are not always the cheapest, but for their price, I have never been disappointed with the quality). So, why this reel? with 11+1 BBS, this thing retrieves like a top. It is incredibly smooth. I am still somewhat new to understanding how gear ratio affects casting with different baits, but everything I have used casts extremely easily, and it has opened opportunities for me to try different baits. I am a big fan of the Texas rig, but I am moving into lighter baits, which this reel makes much easier. Now, every newer bait caster worries about nesting, but the dual braking system alleviated a lot of my concerns. It has made me much more confident about trying different cast methods. I also love that it is light and solid. My old reel weighed considerably more and felt more like a piece of garbage, this reel feels strong and like it should last a long time if I take care of it. It just feels premium in your hand. It was a great buy!

I own the mach 2 thanking it ca n't get any better then it. Well I was wrong it cast beautifully once set cast and let it hit the water with no hands and no backlash. I 'm in love all I own is lews and this jacked model takes the cake.
