I bought this reel at DSG in my area and I 'm not experienced with the baitcaster. Hundreds of casts later and still smiling. It really likes the 20 LB. 012 ''/. 030mm line and it likes to have a full spool. The removable side plate made clearing any backlash/birdsnesting a breeze. I only experienced backlash in the wind with the lighter lures. The more I learn about the higher quality reels the more I 'm impressed with the value of the Quantum Nitrous.
