This is a great skillet set for home or camp use. You can use the pans individually or combine them for dutch oven cooking. Also can be used on the stove top, or in the oven. I have made fried chicken, deep dish pizzas, cornbread, apple pie, frittatas, stir fry and breads in this set so far. I have used these almost daily, and have since purchased a few other sized lodge skillets. You have to cook with a lower heat than your traditional non- stick pan and have to use a bit more oil, but the more you use it the more it becomes seasoned and acts more like a non- stick pan. Patience is key with these. The handles do get hot, so pick up a set of handle mitts that lodge makes.

We had seen others use a dutch oven when camping with the boy scouts but had never used one ourselves. We spotted this while shopping at Dick's and thought we would like to give it a try. It had the features we knew were important to look for... the legs on the bottom and the flat indented lid, and we liked the 6 qt size. It came with a small recipe book but it was packed with yummy sounding soups, stews, main dishes and yes, deserts. We did pork chops with potatoes in it and WOW was that good. And we were amazed at how fast and thorough it cooked our dinner! We enjoy having bonfires at home too so I 'm certain we will do some dutch oven cooking right in our own back yard!!

[ This actually comes double boxed which I really like because it protects the product. It is very heavy because of the pot being cast iron. The pot is a 5 gallon cast iron with feet and it's pre- seasoned which is awesome. It also has an aluminum lid to cover the pot. The frame of the pot you bought together so it's provides extra sturdiness for the cooker. It's heated by using a propane tank. This is awesome for tailgating or for camping because even though it's called the jambalaya pot you can virtually cook tons of stuff in this like chili or soups or do a fish fry. The only thing it says you can not use it for is to fry a whole turkey which is understandable because it's only 5 gallon. If you love camping or tailgating or just like to have a pot instead of a grill this is awesome to have. For my large family we do a lot of Chili's and gumbos and soups so this is going to really be great on our next camping trip in a couple of weeks

The heat is concentrated in the center of the pot, which is intuitive given the design, but it does n't cook as well as a pocket rocket, but uses much less fuel... just stir a little more often and it works just fine! Definitely glad to add this to my gear room.

I 've used the collapsible 1. 4L pot from Sea to Summit for a couple of years now and really enjoy how compact it is, so I was a little hesitant on the non- collapsibility of these pots. I was concerned about filling these pots up with items that might scratch the non- stick finish. They include a nice cloth that allows the smaller pot to nest into the larger pot and protect them from each other. I used that cloth and a bag to put my stove, fuel, all of my dishes, and utensils, plus my LED light strip into the 3L pot. It's all kept in nicely by the handle clicked over the lid. The 3L size was not as much of an issue as I thought it would be, just stuff more stuff into it! I have a large set of pots/ pans and the 3L size Frontier is easily the best volume/ weight ratio of any of them. Even including the handle in the weight. The non- stick is AWESOME and the bottom heats very evenly. I enjoyed cooking in this much more than my 1. 4L collapsible pot. The lid `` hook '' for placing the lid on the side of the pot is a nice feature... always hard to find a clean place for your lid! I also had no problem keeping the lid in place for draining pasta, nice solid lid fit on the pot. My only `` issue '' is the bottom of the pots has an `` indent ''. This is great for strength, but the diameter of the indent is slightly smaller than my optimus crux stove... so the pot is a little unstable/ off- kilter on the stove. Still 5 stars overall. This is a great pot set.

The handle is nice that it can be removed and it ’s easy to snap back on when needed. The nesting storage is always good as well. Only thing that could be lighter is possibly titanium but it ’s extremely light for the set and I don ’ t think that would be worth changing. One thing that could be nice is the handle interface being on the lid as well to snap into just to not be fighting steam with your hands but not a deal breaker. Good pot set and might end up getting another set here soon. Do recommend

[ Camping with our daughter this summer in the Tetons, we needed an extra pot for the meals we were preparing. She had one of the S- S titanium pots, which we used frequently. We were pleased enough to purchase this twin set upon return home. Thoughtful design with the draining lids, reversible handles, nesting ability, hooking lids, and good proportions. The material is light, of course, and seems very durable. We look forward to years of service from this set.

[ First off why I gave four stars. The handle is too heavy for the small pot. When empty with handle attached the pot tips over. I use these with my overland set up so space is not an issue. The pots are well made and distribute heat evenly. Clean up is easy because of the non stick surface. I like how the pots nest into each other with the handles inverted also securing the lids. The microfiber towel in between the two pots is a nice touch to insure the pots don ’ t scratch themselves in transport. These replaced an old MSR cook set that I had for over 30 years. They were much bigger but too big for what I needed. I can cook for two people with the Sea to Summet set plenty of capacity. All in all very pleased.

[ My family has recently decided to get more into tent camping, and keeping things light is important. Since many of the meals would be made from freeze dried packages, there was little need to carry a heavy two- burner propane stove and fuel tanks. The JetBoil Stash model looked like just the thing to boil up a few cups of water to make a pouch of food. Not wanting to wait until we actually needed it, I gave it a few test runs under different conditions right at home. It is quick and easy to set up, and I ran into only one easy- to- remedy snag- getting the stabilizer leg assembly to snap onto my fuel canister. Where I live, there's not much selection in fuel, and mail ordering it comes at a high price. That meant getting Coleman brand was my only option within an hour's drive. The problem is that the stabilizer is just too hard to get onto the canister bottom without feeling like you 're going to break it. I have n't owned one of these before, so I do n't know how much variability there is between fuel brands. The good news is that a minute's application of a file fixed it!( See pictures). Once I got it all assembled, I was able to get 2 cups/500 ml of water boiling in about 2- 1/2 minutes or so on average. On really cold days or ones where it was very breezy, it was a little longer, but still really fast. One could easily boil water for and prepare several pouches of food within 10- 15 minutes, even if everyone had something different. I am very happy with my new stove!

It ’s easy to pack because it ’s so compact and light. I was able to boil two cups of water in about 2. 5 minutes. The pot sits on top of the stove very steady. They also sell a frying pan which is the next item I want to get. The flame comes out strong and the way the bottom of the pot is designed to keep in the flame/heat for maximum power. I was a little worried there was no wind guard for the flame, but it seemed to do well with a light wind( haven ’ t tested with a very strong wind but I would probably find some cover if needed. The stove component is made of titanium and is very light yet strong. Great design and quality.

Just got these to replace all the cheaper mis- match gear I accumulated in the last 3 years. Definitely a much more useful and compact kit. Seems durable, but I will avoid using super high heat with these. I will be keeping my mini cast iron pan for that. Also, I wish it came with 2 handles, they are scary to switch back and forth on hot pans.

[ I wasn ’ t expecting this to be so light! Even with all the pieces in the pot it is still really light. This doesn ’ t take long to heat up and it cooks pretty evenly from what I can tell. I only tried soup in it so far. It wasn ’ t hard for me to clean it afterwards because it was just soup. I do think other things will be tougher. The handle is a little hard to take off in my opinion. I ’ d worry about older people or people with fragile or weak hands being able to do it. Overall I ’ d recommend this.

[ I really did just go on a camping trip where we used this. It heats up well. It got the job done. I 'll update with pics when my friend sends them but I did take pics of the box BECAUSE BONUS! There is a bowl and cup with measurements on it which I will probably use that in my home and out. I love this set!

I own the previous model as well, and I like the upgrades over the previous model. I prefer the flip handle to the butterfly style that the older model has. I also like the new lid over the older lid. Being able to remove the lid while it is on the stove is a big plus. And in my opinion, I think it fits on the MightyMo stove just a little better.

The Jetboil system is lightening fast& uses less fuel than other stoves I 've owned. After a long days hike, the last thing I want to do is wait around for my water to boil. The system is light weight and I love that everything stores in the boil cup. It did n't take up much space in my pack and is super lightweight. The new Frontier Ultralight Cook set is a brilliant redesign in the Sea to Summit line up. As an alpine climber, I obsess over both weight and space savings and this new cook set checks both boxes. I paired the cook set with a jet boil Mighty Moe and compared it to my `` go to '' MSR reactor kit with Sea to Summit cup and bowl. The Frontier Ultralight cook set weights in at 20 grams heavier than the MSR however, it provides 2 cups, 2 bowls, and a 2. 2 liters pot. It also seems to pack better in a rucksack which is critical when trying to jam everything into a smaller rucksack. The space and weight savings when considering two people, is definitely making this new cook set my `` go to '' for summer adventures!
