Wow. These are awesome. I ran my last half marathon in the Pegasus trail, and I was less than impressed. I went to the Wildhorse but felt those needed more cushioning. When I started doing road races in the vaporfly, I was really hoping that Nike would do some sort of vaporfly hybrid shoe for trails and I feel like this is it! I took it right out of the box on a 7 mile adventure, with about 2k feet of vert in the first 2 miles and then a downhill 3 mile run on a fire road, before hitting 2 miles on pavement. They performed superb. They are ultralite( 6. 5oz in my size) and have a super wide toebox, which is unlike most Nike products. This means that you ’ re not gon na get any pressure on your toenails and they ’ re not hitting up against the front of the shoe. They ’ re super breathable and the carbon fiber plate definitely gives you a little propel forward. I ’ m so excited that Nike finally got a contract with Vibram because the soles are incredibly grippy. I don ’ t know how this shoe would do on super technical terrain, considering it is a race shoe, so it ’s meant to be fast and agile. But I don ’ t know if it would protect you from kicking a rock or hitting a rock with anything near your ankle. You ’ re definitely gon na feel that. I ’ m all in for taking this on my next race and super excited to see how I perform in this shoe. I love that there ’s no break in time with Nike ever and I ’ m really happy to see that they have stepped it up with their trail running shoes. We needed this!

Superior cushioning and forefoot strike flexibility compared to my pairs of Nimbus 25& 26, and they are indeed better for both LR and tempo runs. Cushioning felt superb during 16+ mile long runs and feet/legs were far less sore the day after LRs until this shoe accumulated about 250 miles. Currently at 325 miles and cushioning is still ok and better than my newer Nimbus 26. I will try running in them during recovery runs after 350 miles.

I 've been using the gore- Tex trail shoes with Currex high arch insoles for more than a year of consecutive daily running. I was doing more trail/gravel running til late winter& switched to the track for later runs. This is my first carbon plate Nikes and I ca n't believe how much faster& lighter they feel on my feet. Of course now I want to try the vapor/alphas as well. I have really high arches and it is like they made this shoe to fit me perfectly. I may end up putting my insoles in but I had not even needed them for my first week of runs in them. I 'm definitely going faster than I 'd even imagined. Great shoes. I 'd love to see more colorways. I actually worked in them the first night I got them and had several complements. I felt like I was Tigger from Winnie the Pooh bouncing around the hospital all night.

I ’ m relatively new to road racing( having done just one half marathon this year) and this is my first carbon shoe. My warm up mile was light and breezy in this shoe and my speed work was definitely faster than normal. I struggled to run slow in these shoes for my cool down mile- your feet turnover fast in these shoes. I did have to size up a half size from a 7. 5 to 8, but super pleased after just one run. I worry that the 8mm drop is a little too high for me to use on long runs tho, but we ’ ll see.

Had to go half size up for a bit more length for toes but not a big issue, I have narrow feet and width is perfect. Haven ’ t ever felt a more comfortable, bouncy, carbon plated shoe. Usually carbon plated shoes hurt my feet after a few miles- these don ’ t. Just feel good to run in and they keep your feet turning over. Only complaint is little hard to get on. The cushioning has greatly reduced stress on my knees. Running in these trainers feels effortless and they are so light that it hardly feels like I ’ m wearing anything on my feet! Will be re- buying another pair when the time comes for all future race days.

These shoes fit like gloves from the start. The comfort around the foot and space for my toes were perfect. The cushioning was spot on and every time I ’ ve used them so far I ’ ve been quicker with a 5km, 10km and 20km PR. I would highly recommend these shoes if you have a neutral gait like I do!

I ’ ve used this shoe on grass, dirt, pavement, and track, and it performs great on all. I ’ ve used this shoe since July, so I would estimate 100- 200 miles, and there isn ’ t too much wear. The fit of the shoe is great, love the snug feel. Not crazy amount of traction, but the hole in the bottom( where the plate is) can get some mobility out of the rocker. The DNA flash is very soft in the heel, and lessens further forward, giving soft landing and fast release. This shoe can be used of really any distance in speed. Only complaint I ’ ve had is the ankle bump it has, it gave me soreness one time, but never happened again, so it shouldn ’ t be a problem.

Amazing shoe, fast and bouncy but not squishy. Relatively stable considering this is a racing shoe. I prefer them to my Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 because I recover faster after a hard workout in the Hyperion Elite 4. Elite 4 is comparably more stable than the Endorphin Pro 4. Excellent upper and ventilation. DNA Flash 2 foam does not stiffen up in the cold. I appreciate the design of the laces and how it makes it harder for them to get undone. Fit is perfect on my slightly wide feet. These shoes do n't get proper justice from some online reviewers and I do n't agree with that. I am really happy I gave them a try and they are permanently in my rotation now until I wear them down.

Shoes are great there is a break in period but once you get passed that they comfort is outstanding, I have 7. 5 feet but 4E wide foot. So I ’ ve been wearing 9. 5 shoes cause it ’s the only size that fits my width but it ’s always been empty space at the top.

I recently used these shoes at the Big Sur International Marathon. This course has it all it rained the majority of the race, so I had wet roads, a lot of big up and down hills, and also a long section of the road where the road angled off steeply to one side. I have been a VF3 runner the past season. These shoes were even better the VF4s will be my go- to marathon race shoe for the rest of the season!
