I ’ ve had these boots a month and so far they are great. Keep my feet dry and after a short break in period they are comfortable. There is a seam in the heel that if you tighten the laces too tight it will rub but I figured out I didn ’ t need the laces that tight. Overall a quality pair of boots.

This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I am an avid hiker and have always purchased salmon for their quality and comfort and this is probably the worst shoe I ’ ve ever purchased in all my years. They get so hot on my feet so fast and I can not leave them on for more than a 2- 3 hours with just regular socks. After only a month of wearing these the rubber notches on the bottoms of the shoe just started tearing off and now whenever there are rocks or sticks on the path the bottom of the shoe catches on those things because of the hanging notches so I trip so much. There is little to no ankle support and my shoe laces never ever stayed tied no matter how much I tie them. As a person who has always bought Salomon hiking boots I am extremely disappointed. I literally can ’ t even wear these. I have probably worn these less than 30 times since I bought them a year ago and am just using my old busted up Salomon ’s with holes in them and no tread on the bottom rather than these to hike. What a waste of money. Please do not buy.

Bought these prior to taking a trip to Alaska. Did a ton of hiking in all sorts of different conditions- rocky, wet, slippery, etc. and these held up well in all of them. [ I usually don ’ t rate products but these boots are great. They took virtually no time to break in even though they are a bit stiff. Use them hiking in the mountains and the give me great support which is mainly what I was looking for in a boot. Be aware they are a bit on the heavy side but for me they are worth it. I have used them one season and they still look great, very tough exterior really resist scuffs from rocks.

I have a pair of the military issue version of these boots, love these boots! I walk my dog in the high desert of NM around 4 miles a day. The are just right, not to heavy but give great support and protection in the varying high desert terrain. Just purchased a new pair, these are almost exactly the same as the issue version. The only difference is the new version has hooks at the very top lace, opposed to the holes on the mil version, which is even better!

[ Had these boots for a month now, I have not had the privilege to take them on a serious hike yet. I have had them off road in mud, the treads load up, but do self clean. The Gore- Tex liner works good, almost too good. My feet seemed to overheat in temps over 30 degrees. They are comfortable and require no break in period. I can see why Danner Crater Rim boots are a boot of choice for SOF operators in Afghan and other challenging environment. Best of all they are American made!!

[ This is my second pair of Trail Pegasus, and I like it more than the first one:) The Pegasus are a staple for any running enthusiast, but I had n't worn a pair of trail shoes until recently, and I 'm sold. The sole has a lot more grip, which makes these shoes truly `` all- terrain '', both for trail runs but also for every day walks. On top of that, these shoes include Gore- Tex material, making them water resistant( no more excuses not to go for a run in light rain!). They are as comfy as their non- trail Pegasus counterparts, and they have a very similar fit. This color combination has quickly become a favorite for their versatility. [ Wow! These are my new go- to workout shoes. I do everything in them and have experienced no problems during my Zumba, cycling, running, and HIIT workouts. They ’ re super spongy, almost like walking on one of those rubber bouncy floors at the playground. The mesh material keeps them airy and lightweight. They don ’ t have much grip on indoor hard floors but they still get the job done. Outdoors they ’ re great and really flex well with the changing terrain. The curved sole in the back has a unique design and allows for a lot more mobility than a flat shoe. It ’s almost like rocking in a rocking chair! If I could change one tiny thing I would like to have the foam piece on the back heel sit a little higher for more support but it ’s not a big deal at all, just a personal preference. Will resist water to a point, but it ’s not meant to be a rain boot. Comfortable, extremely so during the first 200 miles. Love the grip of the soles, especially in more treacherous conditions. I needed some hiking shoes to hike North Cascades National Park in Seattle. Never had hiking shoes before, but hated that they looked so clunky. I saw that trail running shoes work well for hikes as well and allow your feet to stay flexible. I saw these for sale and gave it a try. Wow. It genuinely provided so much support for hiking and light jogging. I hiked through brush, rocks, gravel, tree roots, grass, and other terrains. I did n't slip a single time and the shoes really cushioned each step. Safe to say, I would have been doomed with regular running shoes. After hiking a few days, the shoes still looked new! They were a bit dusty from the trail itself, though. Treads on the bottom looked new, did n't see any scratches or gouges, laces were not frayed. I got the Gore- Tex variant, so at the end of the hike, I walked into the shallow end of a lake and wiped them off, no water got in. I half- sized up. My regular shoe size is a 9, but I went 9. 5 because I wore thicker socks and appreciate the toe room during hiking as I do n't want my toes banging the front of the shoe. Feet also swell when hiking. All in all, I hiked around 20 miles on this trip as well as walking around city areas, so probably closer to 30 miles. I had no issues whatsoever and would recommend them. If Nike wants to sponsor me for this review, I 'm all ears because they 've won me over with these purposeful shoes.

Upon the first test fit, I knew they were too small and returned the pair for a half size larger. The size 10 fit perfectly, but I will caution that these boots run a bit narrow( I do not have particularly large feet). Asolo thoughtfully offers `` wide '' sizes as well. I christened my new pair of Fugitives by taking a 33 mile trek on the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina in early March. The trail had a good bit of snow, ice and mud. Temperatures during the three day trip ranged from 17 to 64 degrees( F), and included periods of rain and snow. The boots performed beautifully in terms of thermal and waterproof qualities. Also, these boots are very easy to put on, which is a plus when going for that 1am potty run in the cold. My only criticism of the design is that the insole is made of an extremely hard material. By day three, the balls of my feet were hurting pretty badly, and definitely detracted from the enjoyment of my trip. Adding an extra layer of socks helped marginally. I 've never experienced this problem before, so, upon arriving back home, I compared the insole to that in my older boots. Big difference; my older( HiTec) boots( which are falling apart after 15 years) have a much softer insole. I love the Asolo Fugitive GTX Boot, but will definitely add a gel insole prior to my next trip. These are, by far, the nicest( and most expensive) hiking boots I 've ever owned, and would definitely recommend them to others, but with the cautions regarding the sizing and insole material. I hope to add a couple thousand comfortable miles to these boots in the years to come.

I bought my second pair of these approximately a month ago. My last pair I used to backpack the Himalayas twice, Colorado, North Carolina and North Georgia. I also used them as my go to hunting boot as well. They 're heavy duty and it taken care of will last for years and years. I brought the leather back to life on mine using mink oil several times. They look good with a pair of jeans as well and make a great statement when worn in. I hated to let my other pair go and buy another pair but they served me well for over a decade. I love these boots and they are perfect when broken in.

This is a great boot, especially for serious packing. The full leather uppers offer great protection and the sole/mid sole design is tops. Very little break in either. Though not made in the US, these are not made in Asia either and are a quality product. Asolo came recommended to me from a serious outdoorsman and I am hooked. Great boot that will last a long time.

I work for the Forest Service in Michigan. I have owned 4 pair of these boots and have put them through their paces. They are the only boots I will ever buy. If you have doubts, do n't. Just get them. You wo n't be sorry. The only thing I wish they had was some sort of toe guard. Other than that, they are top- notch.

Come to find out my wife and mother in law sold that pair in a yard sale..:( Waited things out and they came on sale at Dick's for just under$ 285. Pulled the trigger for another pair of 8 EE's and just could not be more pleased. This time, bought the new Danner DXT Comfort Insoles( direct for Danner), and they made the best hiking boot, even better. Yeah, They are a lot of money, but they are well worth every penny. With the Mountain light IIs, 1/2 size down is the right fit for me with the EE wide fit. And, Dick's had the boots at our front door in two days!!!

I ’ ve been breaking in the GTX and find it is exactly what I was looking for in a walking shoe. The zip closure is convenient and allows you to loosen or tighten the shoes “ on the fly ” when you need to make an adjustment. I ’ m no longer a runner but the GTX shoes are just as good for long walks.

Great Customer service. I went to this location on the recommendation from a gym member on where to get good shoes. I could n't remember the brand. But within a couple minutes Jalen in the athletic shoe department knew the shoes I was looking for. He was very knowledgeable about all the brands the store carried and knew of several other brands I had in mind. This store is n't a convenient location for me. But I will return for the customer experience. The cashier Isaiah was helpful at contacting the Manager Chloe to come over when I wanted to compliment how well Jalen had assisted me with my purchase.
