My travel hack is to wear this under my jacket but sling it to the side opposite the flight attendant when boarding and it works every time so I can have a backpack and duffel. Only lasts about a year then the cloth part of zipper goes bad. I ’ ve returned daylite many times. While I appreciate the all might guarantee, it ’s still a hassle to continue this process. [ I got the Daylite Plus to act as a compliment to my Farpoint 40 for travel. I 'm really pleased with how it can attach on the Farpoint despite not being the Farpoint- specific daypack, because this gives me a daypack with a bit more space. The main compartment holds a surprising amount of stuff for its size, and the bag is really comfortable to wear and carry. It worked really well being carried through the airport and also serving as a daybag for both around the city and campground camping. Purchased: Aug 2024 Uses: 15+ day hikes with scrambling in the eastern Sierra General: I purchased the Sportlite 30 to replace my aging, 11 year old, Deuter Speedlite 30. My preference is a balance of lightweight, volume, and comfort, and I had not seen anything comparable to my Speedlite until I saw the Osprey. Having used it for a few months, I feel I can give a run down of my impressions. Fit: I have a 16 ” torso and purchased the small which fits very well. It carries much better than my Speedlite as it stays in place on my back better and there is less play when scrambling. What I like: Stretch side panels keep items secure, as does the front stretch compression pocket. I am very pleased Osprey added 2 hip pockets and I like that one of them is a stretch mesh pocket. I ’ ve always had zippered pockets in the past, and the stretch mesh secures a snack and allows for an easier retrieval than fighting with a zipper. I wasn ’ t sure I was going to like the direct access hydration sleeve, but it has worked well. Although the shoulder straps seem thin, they are comfortable and I ’ ve had no issues with them. What could be better: The 2 stretch loops on the shoulder straps are too high. I have a carabiner attached to the lower loop and it sits on top of my shoulder and sticks out rather than hanging down. I ’ d really like to see these moved lower. The side stretch mess pockets are about an inch to high. It is very difficult to reach around to grab something, e. g., bottle of liquid fuel/electrolytes, and put it back. The front compression pocket is also a bit too high. I basically have to unclip the compression straps to grab something, e. g., gloves, hat, from the pocket. But, on the other hand, if the pocket were not as high, it might not hold as much. I 'm not sold yet on the trekking pole loops. They seem small cumbersome. When I 've had to store my poles, I stuff them in a side pocket and secure them with the top compression straps. Lastly, I prefer my key clip to be in the external pocket of the top lid. At the end of a hike, when I ’ m tired and just want to get in my car, with the clip in the external pocket, all I have to do is unzip+ unclip. The workflow to get to one ’s keys in the under the lid pocket design requires one to undo 2 compression straps( 2 clicks)+ flip the lid+ unzip the pocket+ unclip. That ’s 5 steps vs 2. Despite the above limitations, I really do like this pack, especially how it carries. It meets my requirements for being light, having a 30L volume, and being comfortable. I ’ m not sure of the durability yet.. the mesh panel on the back has already ripped.

The back pad does n't hold too much heat and the taller more narrow shape of the pack does n't feel like you have a bunch of stuff. This is a very good, very simple bag. It has a small outside pocket on the top and main compartment. I have used it for a few hikes and a few 20+ mile runs with a bladder inside( it does have a loop to keep the bladder upright). Good bag for the money.

I 've used this for mountain runs and sport climbing. It took me a while to discover the hose pass- through for the hydration bladder. The pack is mostly one giant space which has plusses and minuses. I wish it had another zippered pouch on the outside for snacks. This pack surprised me on the upside. For my daily needs, I only need 16 liters, but I carry a 13 '' laptop and want good organization. This pack delivers. It's a very good design and great materials. Well thought out internal organization. My only gripe is the fabric used for the top quick access pocket feels like cheap sweatshirt material. It wo n't scratch sunglasses, but I 'd prefer something a little nicer. That said, I give this pack a thumbs up.

It is exactly what I was looking for in an everyday pack that I can also use for day hikes. The pockets are great, the straps are all adjustable and there even a whistle on the chest strap. Lots of options for attachment of items such as poles on the exterior of the pack. I love the small fleece pocket at the top of the bag. The outer pocket is great for putting wet or smelly items in. The water bottle pockets can be a bit of squeeze if you have a full pack for a Nalgene but it still fits. There is also a hole for a hydration bladder to fit through. Overall great pack for everyday life and day adventures! Love it.

` I am a 50 year old occasional hiker who has n't had a new pack since college. Just spent 3 days hiking in the Catskills with this pack on my back for 7- 8 hours a day and I love it. Plenty of space and super comfortable. I barely noticed I was even carrying a pack, had zero shoulder or back strain, and like the frame that allows for some airflow through the back area- a big plus hiking in 80+ degree weather. I hiked across Spain for 500 miles over 35 days carrying this pack. I had NO issues and it was so comfortable. I carried about 13- 15 lbs with a water bladder. Only wish the water bladder nozzle had a cover as every time I set the pack down my nozzle touched the ground- good for my immune system! I just feel so grateful for my pack. One of your sales people on the phone recommended it after I tried several other models and sizes. Could n't be happier. One of the zippers broke before my trip but it was n't key. I was looking for a lightweight hyrdation pack to use while cycling. This rig meets all of my requirements except for one... the process of getting rid of the plastic smell and taste of a new unit. Seems like Camelback could develop a consumer product or provide specific guidance on how to resolve this issue. I found several YouTube videos offering advice but none have worked completely yet. I 've been purchasing Camelbak packs going on 16 years and now have at least one designated to each activity I do; running, MTB, Cycling, Hiking, and working outside. I would say I still love the fit and durability of each different style I have( the one I use for working outside is the first Rogue I purchased in 2008), and I 'm really happy Camelbak finally upgraded the bite valve design, but the added magnetic clip placement still needs a more permanent home to affix to on the shoulder strap or chest strap, or something. When the only place to affix it to is somewhere along the adjustable side of the chest strap it's just never in a constant place to mindlessly clip it back in. Otherwise, I 'm still a loyal and satisfied user.

I don ’ t think this backpack is for everyone but for me it ’s a game changer. I travel a lot with a work laptop, work clothes, and a second very big wheelie case with equipment. I don ’ t want two wheelie cases( awkward through stations) and I do want a separate laptop pack for work. This fits the bill perfectly. I had the previous model but I needed carry on. Delighted I made the replacement. When assembled the whole pack is a bit “ Frankenstein ” and it could use more pockets, but it works a treat, is well made, easy to use and an absolute game changer for me.

Completed the Everest Base Camp Trek a few weeks ago. Out of 8 people in our group there were 5 of us wearing Osprey packs. I had the Scarab 30 and loved it. We hiked in sun and rain, hot and cold, through wood and over rock fields. This pack was on my back every day every step of the way. The bladder was full with an extra bottle of water on the side at the waist belt and the bag was full with essentials for weather swap outs and everything i needed to get from A to B and survive without my big duffel. It never chafed my shoulders or waist, felt great on my back and did n't sweat me up by allowing air to flow around it. It was exactly the right choice. The design of the bladder makes it very easy to fill and shove back in its home. the only thing i would change or add would be a cover over the drinking port. We were dropping our packs in a lot of places, on trails in Tea houses, coffee houses and different temples, everywhere and the drinking port always ended up on the ground. Would of been nice to have some sort of cover.

I needed a mid- size bag for a full day of multi- pitch climbing, crag hopping, and lots of hiking in between. Priorities were lightweight, supportive, wearable while climbing, and water bladder compatibility. This bag fits the bill on all of those and is built to comfortably accommodate a harness while being to easily access gear. Where it missed the mark for me was that it's built for a male body. I tried as many adjustments as much as possible but as a 5' 4 '' '' female I could n't get the right fit. I hope osprey recognizes an untapped market and creates female versions of these technical bags some day, like they do for hiking bags!

Still getting used to it but currently on a trip in Italy with this backpack. At first it seems like you need to lay it flat to access or put away anything. However, when on the go, you can just open the zippers on the top to access the different departments, and by only opening the zipper on the top, I was able to create another pocket and start using it like a normal backpack, just throwing things in there instead of opening another zipper. All in all really nice quality. I picked the option where they just give you any color and I ’ m really pleased with it. Fits Norse Atlantic Airways personal size dimensions( and Ryanair too, though I haven ’ t been on that flight yet).

I got this backpack to use while abroad. It is definitely on the smaller side because it can be used as a personal item, but it fits much more than a normal backpack because it opens like a carry- on. Even though it is smaller it's great that it can be used as a personal item and not a checked or carry- on bag. The compartments are also super nice, I am excited to use this on weekend trips!

[ I ordered the blue color, it was darker than the photos showed. The pack seems well made and high quality as well as plenty of pockets. It is a pretty big size and can fit a lot. I couldn ’ t find dimensions anywhere online so here they are( roughly) 16 inches high, about 15 inches wide at the widest spot( top of bag) and 5 inches deep.

I try to use all of my backpacks as dual purpose. 1st is hiking and second is work/office backpack. This pack did amazing at both. I enjoyed the deep front valuables pocket for AirPods, chap stick, keys, knife etc. the main compartment has a number of different pockets that holds a number of things for hiking as well as running to the office. My biggest complement is the water bottle pockets I like to carry two hydro flasks one for water and the other for coffee. This is the first pack I have had that I can use both pockets at the same time. The front cinch pocket was great for my rain coat and other layers. Fantastic pack would highly recommend.
