I really like these shoes. I had the previous edition, and those were my favorite shoe maybe ever. Build quality, solid, even better than the 4s. Will resist water to a point, but it ’s not meant to be a rain boot. Comfortable, extremely so during the first 200 miles. Love the grip of the soles, especially in more treacherous conditions. Would recommend 100%.

I needed some hiking shoes to hike North Cascades National Park in Seattle. Never had hiking shoes before, but hated that they looked so clunky. I saw that trail running shoes work well for hikes as well and allow your feet to stay flexible. I saw these for sale and gave it a try. Wow. It genuinely provided so much support for hiking and light jogging. I hiked through brush, rocks, gravel, tree roots, grass, and other terrains. I did n't slip a single time and the shoes really cushioned each step. Safe to say, I would have been doomed with regular running shoes. After hiking a few days, the shoes still looked new! They were a bit dusty from the trail itself, though. Treads on the bottom looked new, did n't see any scratches or gouges, laces were not frayed. I got the Gore- Tex variant, so at the end of the hike, I walked into the shallow end of a lake and wiped them off, no water got in. I half- sized up. My regular shoe size is a 9, but I went 9. 5 because I wore thicker socks and appreciate the toe room during hiking as I do n't want my toes banging the front of the shoe. Feet also swell when hiking. All in all, I hiked around 20 miles on this trip as well as walking around city areas, so probably closer to 30 miles. I had no issues whatsoever and would recommend them. If Nike wants to sponsor me for this review, I 'm all ears because they 've won me over with these purposeful shoes.

Right out of the box you can tell that they are a quality boot, I love that they are water proof. They only issue that I could find is that they are a heavy boot but I feel that it is worth it.

Out of all my high top Altra shoes this is the most lightweight of them all. I have to send the left shoe off to have a lift built onto the bottom, which usually makes it very heavy. It added weight to it, but it is still really lightweight in comparison. Always very warm and durable, just wish you would make this exact shoe with a taller top for better ankle support. I had a stroke and could use a little more ankle support. All in all a 5 star ranking from me!

For having been rocking a competitor brand that's very cushioned, I 've been experimenting and wanted to give these a try. I 'm not hip on the zero drop or whatever chatter. I 'm very basic and oblivious to the jargon. I let me feet tell me if they like a shoe or not. I 've already taken these puppies on some monster trails and I do n't feel pain or discomfort after being on my feet for so long. From a mean 15 miler with 4k in gains at Great Basin to a 10 miler with 3k gains around Mt Charleston. These shoes still look fresh and are keeping me happy! I 'll keep putting them to the test, but so far so good

I service center pivot irrigation systems during the summer and have had a pair of these for 3 months now. We do a lot of walking through fields and mud and climbing. Never had any wet feet or an issue rolling my foot on uneven terrain. The soles are still in great shape and the traction is amazing. I will be purchasing another pair for next season.

I have been searching for the right pair of boots for long day hikes and backpacking for years. Salomon and La Sportiva have gotten narrower and narrower. Constant ankle and knee pain along with blisters. I took a chance and ordered the Timp 6 with hopes the wide toebox would do well. I overpronate and have bad ankles so I added a pair of Superfeet insoles to get a bit more support. Out of the box I did a 13 mile hike with no break in period at all. Zero blisters. Zero hotspots. Vastly improved muscle fatigue. Took them out to Washington and hiked around Olympic and Mt Rainier for a week in them as well. Comfortable, light, just enough support to not roll an ankle, not a single blister. 10/10 recommend. I will be buying another pair. Extremely satisfied with my purchase.

[ I am a dedicated trail runner. My favorite activity is off road running, but my busy schedule does not always allow for me to find a trail. In these situations I will run on a track or even my neighborhood streets. My enthusiasm requires that I exercise in all weather conditions. Rain does not alter my routine. I need a shoe that will stand up to wet, or even muddy conditions. I found the Cascadia 20 GTX completely waterproof. I did not think that a shoe that was this comfortable could possibly accomplish this. I was pleasantly surprised. Muddy trail conditions did not slow me down considerably. I was able to maintain traction in the harsh and uneven conditions that I often find my self in. My extended trail running requires that I feel secure and comfortable in my shoe. The cushioning in my Cascadia 20 GTX is very soft and protective and enhanced my confidence during my long trail runs. I highly recommend this Trail running shoe,

[ Out of the box, I was intrigued by how lightweight this trail runner felt. In the past, my trail running shoes have felt a bit more heavy than the Brooks Cascadia 20. Eager to try them out, I slipped them on in the house and they almost felt glued to the floor due to the amount of grip the tread provides. I was impressed by the cushion as well and couldn ’ t wait to test them out on the trail the next day. The next morning, I awoke to a light rain and headed out to my local Florida trail comprised of mostly small sandy climbs and a few rocky sections. After my first mile in the rain, I was impressed by how dry the shoes kept my feet. The water wicked away quickly on the Gore- Tex outer material quite well. I experienced some heavy rain and mud, and this didn ’ t slow me down. Overall, my socks stayed dry and clean allowing me to continue for several more miles. Honestly, I might have developed blisters in another shoe not as waterproof and robust as the Brooks Cascadia 20. As far as performance goes in wet, muddy, and slippery conditions, the shoes did amazing. The grip is superb and I had no issues running through slick mud, slippery rocks, and sketchy wooden boardwalks. Typically, I have to hold back in these conditions, but the Brooks Cascadia 20 gave me confidence to push through at a steady pace. Not only did I maintain a steady pace, I was able to complete the 9 mile trail without noticing any discomfort. The cushion provided is quite supple but feels stiff enough not to impede your stride. Even when wet, I never felt as if my feet were sagging down

[ I have been loving the Brooks Cascadia 20 GTX! I run approximately 20 miles a week, 15 or more of which are on trail. With daily afternoon showers keeping the trails muddy, these have become my new go to shoes. The GoreTex keeps my feet dry in rain and when splashing through creeks and puddles, but they are still breathable. They are shaping up to be an all season shoe when the trail gets sloppy. In addition to the waterproofing, the Cascadia 20s provide the comfort I ’ ve become to expect out of Brooks. I ’ ve had countless pairs and they all fit true to size and are so comfortable even on longer 7+mile runs. I haven ’ t experienced any hot spots or blisters, even in the rain. I run across many roots and rocks on the trails and have found the traction to be great. The soles eject mud well and don ’ t get caked up with heavy debris. As all trail runners know, the toe protection is important as well. I ’ ve kicked several roots and rocks and the toe box guarded my feet well. I ’ d recommend the Brooks Cascadia 20 GTX to anyone looking for a comfortable all terrain, wet weather shoe!!

[ I ’ ve been running in the Cascadia 20 GTX on multiple rainy days on the trail and they ’ ve performed amazingly well. I LOVE THESE SNEAKERS! The GORE- TEX keeps my feet dry through wet grass, mud, light rain, and shallow stream crossings. In really heavy prolonged rain a little water can eventually sneak in around the collar, but overall they stay comfortable and don ’ t get soggy. The Vibram sole is extra grippy and the aggressive tread gives a really secure purchase, even on wet rocks, slippery roots, and uneven terrain. I feel confident without slipping. In deep sticky mud the shallower lugs can pack up a bit, but for normal wet trail conditions the grip is excellent. I ’ ve never had a running shoe with this much cushion. The foam absorbs impact really well and I love that I don ’ t feel hard rocks under my feet, though I do lose a bit of feedback from the trail. After long runs my feet don ’ t feel tired and look forward to going longer in them. Overall these have become my go to for wet weather and all conditions trail runs. They ’ re protective, secure, and reliable whenever the weather turns messy. Definitely inspires confidence in my runs.

Another thing I really like is how well they keep small rocks and debris from getting inside the shoe, which makes a huge difference when hiking on gravel trails. The upper is easy to wipe clean after a hike, and the QuickLACE system works really well. It ’s fast to tighten, holds the shoe securely, and stays snug throughout the hike without loosening. Overall, these shoes are lightweight, comfortable, secure, and very practical for hiking. I ’ d definitely recommend them, especially for anyone who spends a lot of time on rocky or uneven trails.

My first time wearing these I put 11 miles on these boots the day after I ran a 30k trail race with blistered sore feet and the comfort of these boots felt great and didn ’ t bother my damaged feet. Super comfortable, probably more comfortable than the prior generations of mid x- ultras I have. They would be 5 stars if laces had “ hook clasp ” at top of tongue like x- ultras. I could leave them tied at perfect length and simply slide laces into clasp and go where as with these you have a long skinny lace you have to tie/ untie every time& like 9 ” excess lace you then have to tuck out of the way.

[ Overall, I am pleased with these shoes for heavy use on my daily running routine, which is mostly road and treadmill with some occasional offroad. The ankle support is great: the shoe hugs the ankle through the entire stride and does not shift. I have not had any chafing issues. The sole cushioning is above average. Much of the shock is absorbed during normal running. The raised tread is also perfect for running on wet road surfaces without slipping. The laces have an elastic loop- back that keeps tight after tying, a feature I haven ’ t seen before and was very pleased with. The appearance of the shoe is very plain( if that is important to you). I have the off- white color, they are not flashy at all. The width is slightly tighter than other brands at this size, which may be an issue for users with wide or flat feet.

[ Most comfortable gore tex shoes I 've tried. Shoe is very comfortable and I 've worn it throughout the whole day and it did n't hurt my feet like other running shoes. These work as regular day shoes as well. Shoes came in standard Brooks shoe box with gore tex tag. Nice color scheme tan and gray. Ca n't review how well it will hold up in rain as have n't gotten it wet, pour some water and it did n't go through which is a good sign. The shoe is n't as rigid and stiff as other gore tex shoes I 've tried and it is more flexible and still feels breathable so I 'm not certain this will be as good as in the rain but they are sure comfortable. The shoes should do well in wet climates, the sole of the shoe has good grip and traction, I 've used for some trail run.

[ The Ghost 18 GTX were my first choice for the dreaded bad weather run. When it ’s pouring when you start your run, grab these. The shoes had great grip for gravel and road even in the wet, kept my feel dry and blister free, and looked awesome. The cushion and support was excellent just like other Brooks shoes and I found them to be supportive during longer runs. I did find the shoes less breathable during super hot days +90F and the toe box felt a little tighter when my feet got hot. Overall I still found myself gravitating towards these when the weather was nice, raining, or in between, knowing I ’ d feel confident on their grip, the protection from the rain, and the support from the soles.

Overall so far these shoes have been great. The couple times I 've been outside in the rain they 've kept my feet dry. I find that they have a bit of a narrow fit, so I do feel that they 're a bit tight on the sides. However the support in the sole of the shoe is nice and comfortable.

These are my first norvan's and they 're running pretty great out of the box. I 've put quite a few kms on this on some crunchy terrain around Banff and throughout the river valley up in Edmonton. The drop is great and not too aggressive and I find it supportive for the running I do. I 'm normally a 9US, 42EU and I found that I was tossing up between the 8. 5US. I would recommend playing with the sizes as I feel I would n't hit it right on the spot with my normal US 9. What I really like is the sole- it's super grippy on the snow and rough ice- compared to the sole on the vertex alpine last year. It has given me a lot more confidence to do my spring and winter runs this year.
