I bought these for my 17 year old son when we ’ re hiking in Colorado. He said these were the best shoes he had ever wore. They had great support and cushion. He sized down 1/2 a size. This is the second pair I have bought for him because he loves them so much.

[ Caveat: I 'm a trail runner sponsored by The North Face. I was part of the beta testing for the Altamesa 500 and was stoked on the ride and comfort from early on in the process. These are now my go- to shoes for nearly all my long runs and easy/recovery days when I 'm not in one of the VECTIV shoes. They are soft and plush but still feel responsive and stable for all but the most technical terrain.

[ Great design. This shoe is exactly what I was looking for. I run 16- 20 mile trail runs and need a trail shoe with more cushion on my recovery runs.

[ My first pair of TNF shoes. I had been living in my Salomon GTX's for the whole season and wanted something fresh to wear through fall. I chose these because they were Futurelight and I 've been impressed with that material in my jacket I bought last year. So far I 've been impressed with the shoe. The fit was excellent at 11. 5 and they are so light and comfortable I 've been using them more and more often. There seems to be a sort of 'spring' in each step when I 'm fast pacing, a nice surprise. I 've not had an opportunity to test them for waterproofing but for light rain/puddles my feet have stayed completely dry. I 've also only had chance to wear them on short hikes, less than 3hrs, so I ca n't say how they hold up on long journeys, but I 'm guessing they will do just fine!

When selecting men's trail shoes, consider features such as traction, cushioning, and support. Look for outsoles with aggressive tread patterns for better grip on uneven terrain, and ensure the midsole provides adequate cushioning for comfort during long runs or hikes. Additionally, a secure fit and breathable materials can enhance your overall experience on the trails.
Choosing the right size for men's trail shoes is crucial for comfort and performance. It's recommended to try on shoes at the end of the day when your feet are slightly swollen, as this can provide a more accurate fit. Ensure there is enough room in the toe box and that your heel is snug but not tight to prevent blisters during activities.
Men's trail shoes are designed for a variety of outdoor activities, including trail running, hiking, and walking on rugged terrain. They offer the necessary support and traction for navigating uneven surfaces, making them ideal for both casual strolls and more intense adventures. Depending on the specific design, some may also be suitable for light backpacking.
Men's trail shoes are typically made from a combination of synthetic materials, mesh, and rubber. The upper often features breathable mesh for ventilation, while synthetic overlays provide durability and support. The outsole is usually made from rubber for enhanced traction, and some models may include waterproof materials for wet conditions.
Men's trail shoes differ from regular running shoes primarily in their design and functionality. Trail shoes are built to provide better traction, stability, and protection against rocks and roots on uneven surfaces. They often feature a more rugged outsole and reinforced toe caps, making them more suitable for off-road conditions compared to standard running shoes.
Yes, many men's trail shoes are designed to perform well in various weather conditions. Some models are equipped with waterproof or water-resistant features to keep your feet dry in wet environments, while others may offer breathability for warmer weather. It's important to choose a shoe that matches the specific conditions you expect to encounter on your trails.
